(Warning: Male staff member is horribly rude. There are several posts about this disrespectful man. This hotel is losing money due to his superiority complex.)
NOW, let me start by saying that the young lady that works the front desk during morning/day shift is one of the kindest & most considerate people I have had the pleasure to meet. My room is clean. The fridge is bigger than the usual mini fridge in rooms. However, after spending almost $350 here during my 4 day stay, I encountered the most embarrassing situation by a head male staff member. I understand breakfast is only during a short window in the morning. However, I am quarantined because I have an auto immune disorder & my immune system is at ZERO. #1 it is very clear I am not feeling well. I would absolutely not enter an eating/dining area with my apparent "symptoms" & make other guests feel uncomfortable. Even though I am not contagious, it can be very unsettling for people to be around someone "sick" because of Covid. #2 It is very dangerous for me to be around people because any germ or bacteria I encounter my body perceives as a threat and my immune system goes into "attack mode." I am highly allergic to the Covid vaccine & my first dose put me in the hospital. Again, I try to limit my contact with others as much as possible. With that being said, this morning, after breakfast and I knew no one would be in the dining area, I went in to grab a yogurt or two and that was it. Probably costs no more than $0.50. The male staff member aggressively told me to put the yogurt back, breakfast was over and not to be in there. I have barely been able to eat for several days and I came at that time out of respect for other guests. So, with shame and embarrassment I put the two yogurts back. I have not so much as used an ice cube while I have been here. I clean my own room as to not have to put people in the position of worrying I might be contagious. I was so embarrassed that I started to cry when I went to pay for another night. This male staff member, in front of other people actually said to me, "I said you can have the yogurt. You don't have to cry about it." Which in turn, embarrassed me more. I even offered to pay for the yogurt so I could have it outside of breakfast hours. Here I am, paying all this money, then being shamed over yogurt that is free anyway as part of my stay. I wonder who he is as he feels it is appropriate to speak to a guest that way. Or anyone that way. I am a highly educated professional, author of a book, law school graduate & now in medical school. Does he feel he is better than his guests to speak such words by telling me, "You don't have to cry about it" in such a disrespectful way? It was yogurt. Not a steak. Not a meal. Not anything of any significant value other than I waited as to not disturb other guests or make them uncomfortable. The young lady that works the front desk was so kind and got the yogurt for me. She knows I am not feeling well. This will be my last night here and I will spend the next week elsewhere. If it was criminal of me to wait to go grab a yogurt out of respect for other guests, I apologize. However, that man should not be allowed to openly speak to guests in such a rude and demeaning way. It was only a free yogurt. Nothing more and nothing less. It is included in my stay. If my wanting the yogurt was such an offense to him 2 minutes after breakfast ended, he did not have to be rude & callous about it and embarrass me in front of others. A kind statement that breakfast is over would have been sufficient. I would have apologized and explained why I waited. He was so rude & aggressive about it, that I did cry out of embarrassment. As mentioned earlier, he teased me for crying. I am already not feeling well. Was it really necessary for him to exert his "hotel authority" over a yogurt? I feel embarrassed for him, this establishment, other guests and his colleagues. Honestly, if I was able to get a refund I...
Read moreWe always stay here when visiting Toledo. Nice clean rooms, good location, and great prices. I hope they keep doing what they do.
I wrote that review just over 2 months ago. Since then I've been back to stay almost a month this time. Last time it was just a day or 2 as always. During this stay I discovered when staying for extended periods they put you in the Marijuana hall that isn't air conditioned, there was noise almost all the time between people knocking on others doors (walls are thin), dogs barking, and just an abundance of people living there for work or just to have a place to live. I asked to be moved up to the front hall where there's less traffic especially during the week. I was told it's better for me too be back there where it's quiet compared to when people are there on the weekends. On top of that the "free breakfast" has been moved from a start time of 6 to 7 am with a piece of tape over the 7 am. I'm thinking the reason for this is people like me there to work get up early enough to go at 6. So to prevent so much food being consumed they moved it to 7 am which is most construction workers stay time. Just another bad business model for the consumer. I planned on staying until 10-16 and had the room paid through 10-9, I paid weekly. Well 10-6 I had to leave urgently since I live in the Tampa area and my wife, 2 grandkids, and 4 pups had to evacuate. I felt I should be there to help with this, called my boss, he understood and I left. I called to ask about the 3 days of me not staying and they told me I couldn't get a refund since I was getting the weekly rate. If you ask me, that's kind of bad business since I do stay there alot and this was an emergency. I will stick to my original review that if you're there for only a few days, in the front hall and you wake up a little later it's not a bad hotel, just don't use this for a work related stay if longer than a week. Don't expect them to be understanding of any emergency situation as it seems they would rather keep my money and double rent...
Read moreThis was the absolute worst hotel ever. Apart from waiting to checkin for 20 minutes because of a printer jam. Finally checked in we got to our room and immediately leave to grab dinner. After that, we were back at the hotel to enjoy the pool and hot tub. The pool was bitter cold and the hot tub had a dead fly in it. (Not a very big issue, just gross.) After the swim we decided to go shower in our room. Upon further inspection there was not a smoke detector in the room and some of our towels were dirty as well as the floor. We were exhausted and just wanted to rest, but while my partner was in the bathroom. I bug crawled across the wall, I killed it and we didn't think anything of it until later on there were lots of them. They were ROACHES!!! Crawling all over the bathroom and we instantly packed our things after thoroughly checking for any hidden bugs we didn't want to bring with us. We went to the front desk and I demanded a refund and they would not refund me due to being there for 6 hours. I went back and forth with the kind lady and she eventually gave my cash deposit back and the managers number to come in and communicate with him in person. Today we went in to talk about it and he asked for pictures of the room and showed him and his explanation was "why didn't we address it sooner, and were you offered another room?" Making the whole thing somehow my fault and they proceeded to say that some "customers are dirty." And still not refunding me. It was a struggle to get corporates number out of them and overall the absolute worst experience. Amit Patel is the manager and we have video and pictures of the whole altercation showing how you treat customers and how you want me to go to the higher ups and have them tell you to refund me. Rather than doing the right thing after ruining mine and my partners little get away. I would love to give 0 stars...
