I kept meaning to post this review and time got away, but I wanted to share what a fantastic experience I had here! I walked in at 11:30 AM (thatโs important) and there was a woman finishing mopping and the chairs were still on the tables and I remember thinking, โThatโs weird.โ I asked the woman if they were open and she said, โWe could be, depends what you want to order.โ Again, I thought to myself, โOkay, thatโs weird, borderline rude.โ I explained that I wanted to order a couple of the classic peach cobbler and she said, โOkay sure!โ We began chatting as she was putting my order together and I explained that I had come before because my parents had rave reviews about it and I was from out of town so I had stopped in before and they werenโt open and I was headed back to DC. She shared that a new location has just opened there. Itโs then as I was looking around the place that I noticed the hours on the door. They werenโt supposed to open until noon! โOh my gosh, you arenโt supposed to even be open! I am so sorry!โ To which she replied, โWell, at least you got to be here while everything is smelling extra clean from just being mopped and hopefully you like our stuff so much you will check out our place in DC.โ All to say, EXCELLENT customer service from the owner. The cobbler itself was delicious and I love that it comes with ice cream! I will definitely be back when I visit my folks in Perrysburg, and definitely plan to visit...
ย ย ย Read moreMy wife had been wanting to try this place out and I wish she never told me about it. By the time I left 15% tip for the girl behind the counter with no personality, we get these smaller than life portion cups. Yes, we tried the flight for $20 + tip. However, for that price, the flights were underwhelming in size and flavor. As you can see from the pic, the banana pudding was more like wallpaper paste, I should take the leftovers home and see if it works for spackling. The signature peach cobbler was all doughy crust that was quite unappealing. I do give them props for at least putting 2 peach slices on top so we knew it was indeed peach cobbler. The sweet potato one was the only edible one. Considering we left 60% of our food uneaten, the value was horrendous. To anyone considering coming here, I suggest you saving a paycheck and buy some canned peaches and bisquick. Trust me, your palate...AND your wallet will thank me....
ย ย ย Read moreI hate to do this BUT I want to warn others. I thought I was paying for food experience with my family for a treat. Pictures online showing fresh scooped ice cream which is creamy and domed over hot peach cobbler. Then Iโm handed a brown bag and styrofoam box. (I was never asked if carry out or dine in.) Iโm like $25 bucks for this experienceโฆ the ice cream pre-scooped and frozen like a block of ice with frost on it for my cobblerโฆ. Iโm severely disappointed. I went to the counter to ask about the staff acting like they just want to hurry to get you out the door. (Which they forgot my cobbler in the bag also so glad we were sitting in.) My toddler could nearly get the ice cream out to even eat. I would highly NOT recommend this place for your family outing. (Word of mouth matters). The cobbler was good but you can make nicer at home and pudding was definitely nothing to write home about. Nothing...
