I can't believe that I am doing this after the review I wrote not even a week ago. If I could give this negative 1000 stars I would. People please read every word. We were actually kicked out of the property yesterday for no reason whatsoever. A few months ago we had stayed there for approximately three months. At that moment they had gotten a new manager and we had an interaction with her where she was very very rude. We reported that to management and then left a week later. We decided to come back to give the place another chance. We were there for 28 days just prior before receiving our taxes back and the manager decided, out of left field, to remove us from the property by saying we smoked cigarettes last time we were there which wasn't true at all. She has a personal problem because we called her corporate office after she barked at us like a dog. We were sitting down for dinner when we got a knock at the the door. I answered it only to find the Plymouth meeting police there telling us we had to leave. This is just a few days before Christmas and we are being forced to leave for no reason other than a manager who has a personal problem with us. She should have apologized for what she did to us the first time and never did. It's only when we went up to talk to her about 20 dollars that should have been credited on our account did she realize who we were and not two days later we were being kicked out. What she did was despicable and vindictive. The police even thought it wasn't necessary to call them and went down to the front desk and basically got them to let us stay an extra night to get all our ducks in a row so that we may leave in an orderly, peaceful way. The manager is a liability to that property. She has no understanding of what human resources is or how to build relationships with the people who are the right fit for long term stay at that place. In a business every one is a resource. The leadership, management, and every employee as well as the clients that provide that company with revenue. She does not understand this at all. I called cooperate again and talked with them and that manager told different stories to get what she wanted. She told them we were having people pay for us. How would that be possible if we used our ID'S to check in or get our mail? Also there are tapes of only us paying for the room. It's only when she figured out who we were that this happened. Mind you she lets people smoke weed and allows gangsters to stay there but normal white bread people can't. Honestly I'm seeing a racial issue here as well. She won't hire anyone white and the only white employee left. Her name was Sara and she was a resource the management threw out like yesterday's jam. She was an employee that every business would want to keep, groom and make into a leader. They just forced her out. I'm starting to wonder if anyone at Nationwide Hotel Management, knows what human resources really is at all. I was a regional manager at several banks and what I see there is just a disaster of a general manager. She is rude, impulsive and lost all of her valuable employees the moment she got there. She leaves passive aggressive notes all over the property and is generally an unhappy, unwelcoming person. If she doesn't like you she will kick you out. I highly advise not to pay in advance there. The day she kicked me out is the day I received back pay from PA unemployment and I almost bought 2 months. I could've lost thousands because of an impulsive, neurotic manager. We are now at a Marriott and got it on Priceline for virtually the same amount. Marriott manages their properties properly and doesn't allow Riff Raff to stay while they kick out good people. The place is dirty and smells like marijuana all the time. It's funny how she won't call the cops about that. Read moreBooked through Expedia on Monday for a Friday overnight stay. Hotel called me on FRIDAY afternoon to tell me they cannot accommodate me and they will put me up in a sister hotel but we're unable to articulate how far apart the hotels were.... They would only give me an address... obviously I'm not from the area. I told them forget it. And hour later they called me back and said we have a down grade for you. Out of frustration I said ok. Then I called back and said never mind- cancel the reservation. OK no problem Mrs Boyko came the voice from the other end. A few days later I discovered they charged me! So I called what I thought was the original hotel and explained what happened and was told they would look into it- left my number- no call back. I called again the next day and was told there would be a manager in at 3- again left my number- again no call. Day three- I get to a manager and explain YET again the situation and was told you can't cancel directly with the hotel you have to go through Expedia. Then upon further investigation realize my reservation was at the OTHER hotel... I advised him maybe train your staff to listen, investigate and advise as opposed to let me get your number. So finally I have the correct hotel. Explain the situation and also about how incompetent the staff is at the 'sister' hotel. The woman on the phone agrees! She also identifies herself as the GM Kamika. And also says you need to cancel with Expedia. That although the HOTEL can call me five days after I booked my room to tell me they can't accommodate me and jerk me around I must do everything through Expedia. That seems right. NOT. And when I called to cancel at no time did anyone tell me I needed to do it through Expedia. Now I'm on with Expedia.... Who contacts the hotel and explains the situation and asks for my money to be refunded and they are told the hotel will not refund me because I didn't cancel through Expedia. I let Expedia know that I won't book through them anymore because I don't trust their choices in hotels they partner with. They advise me to dispute the charge with my credit card company and that they are opening a case against the hotel. One hour and one half later (that is how long I'm on hold and explaining) I call the hotel to speak with Kamika who says she's NEVER spoken to me... ok. Whatever. I explain the situation again and she again says you cannot cancel directly with the hotel- and again I'm asking WHY the hotel can contact me directly and they don't have to go through Expedia but I can't.... And also why wasn't I informed that I needed to cancel through Expedia? Because again an incompetent lazy staff member didn't bother to do their job. Kamika and the staff at Extended Stay America have forgotten that they are in the HOSPITALITY and SERVICE Industry. I'll be contacting Jeanie Gately to let her know about my terrible experience STARTING with the hotel blindsiding me the evening of my reservation after having it in their system for FIVE days. You overbook your hotel... give the traveler notice. There is a GOOD reason this hotel has ONE star on YELP. Beware.I’m so happy we didn’t stay here!! I’ve been renting here as a long term tenant since last December, things were great until the hotel changed something with their network. Part of my work is I work from home doing software to which I need internet. Lately for at least the past two weeks I have dealt with very long outages or a highly unstable connection. This has interrupted my work to a point where I am behind. I have complained about this several times and have even requested that the Ethernet jack in my room be turned on. I am getting the run around and am being lied to. Several people on their staff have confirmed the issue affects several guests but the manager tells me that I’m the only one experiencing the issue (lie). Then the straw that broke the camels back was him telling me that someone came to fix my internet and that they were denied entry (another lie). I was here all day, received no notice, and nobody came to my door. It is now obvious to me that they do not intend to fix the issue, and I have a client that is most likely going to cancel on me and demand a refund for previous payments. This level of service is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel, especially the lying. It’s gotten to a point where I have sent letters to their corporate office threatening legal action, which will be filed first thing next week. The moral of the story is if you have a problem, do not expect them to fix it. They are not concerned if you threaten to leave, if you leave your room will be rented to another guest within 24 hours. I feel highly disrespected that they would insult my intelligence by making up stories about service techs showing up to my room knowing nobody ever did. Absolutely unacceptable. If you need reliable service, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
UPDATE (JULY 4, 2025): AFTER SEVERAL LEGAL THREATS FROM ME A DISTRICT MANAGER BY THE NAME OF ROMAN CRISTALI CONTACTED ME BY TELEPHONE TO SETTLE MY DISPUTE. HE OFFERED TO MOVE ME TO THE OTHER END OF THE HALL, WHICH FIXED THE INTERNET ISSUE. I THEN ASKED FOR A CREDIT OF ONE WEEK, TO PARTIALLY MAKE UP FOR MY LOST INCOME, TO WHICH HE AGREED. AT THE SAME TIME HE MENTIONED THE POSSIBILITY OF RAISING MY RENT, TO WHICH I INFORMED HIM THIS WOULD CLEARLY BE RETALIATION. JUST A FEW DAYS LATER I GOT A WRITTEN NOTICE THAT MY RENT IS BEING RAISED IN 30 DAYS. CLEARY EXTENDED STAY AMERICA IS RETALIATING AGAINST ME FOR ASSERTING MY RIGHTS. I GUESS WE WILL BE SEEING EACH OTHER IN COURT AFTER ALL. DON’T STAY HERE. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT THEY WILL GASLIGHT YOU AND LIE TO YOU, THEY DO THIS TO ESTABLISH THEIR DEFENSE IN CASE THINGS GO TO COURT. NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY SLUMLORD OUT THERE. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT SERVICES WERE PROMISED. IF SOMETHING DOESN’T WORK YOU ARE TO BE A GOOD TENANT AND JUST BE HAPPY YOU HAVE A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD. IF YOU COMPLAIN OR THREATEN LEGAL ACTION, GET READY FOR YOUR RENT INCREASE. THATS JUST FINE EXTENDED STAY AMERICA. I WILL BE HAPPY TO WATCH YOUR COMPANY BLOW MONEY ON A LAWYER FIGHTING OVER ALL OF THIS. YOU COULD HAVE JUST FIXED THE ISSUE BUT INSTEAD YOU HAD TO DRAG IT OUT ONLY TO FIX IT AT THE LAST MINUTE DAYS BEFORE I FILED A LAWSUIT. SEE YOU IN COURT! 🤣 GOOD LUCK PROVING THIS WASN’T...
