Rooftop at the Providence G — Restaurant in Providence

Last night we were at Rooftop to celebrate a birthday and there were six of us in our party. We arrived a little before 8:00 p.m. and Anna was our server. Let me start by saying that the first half of our dinner she was great but then the last half of our dinner she was non-existent. There was two large parties out by the fire pits we sat inside by the bar and there was quite a few empty tables it seemed moderately busy but there was another waitress taking care of some of the other tables inside. Like I said, at first she was very attentive and very good but then at roughly 9:00 we barely saw her. At one point Midway through dinner, I had gone up to the bar to tell her it was someone's birthday in our group and she said "we don't do anything complimentary but if you order dessert the servers and I will come over and sing," great perfect we all were okay with that. So we are about 3/4 of the way through our main course, this was a little before 9, and the last time we had any sort of significant interaction with her she came over and said "how are you doing does anyone want any more drinks" and we said "no not right now we are fine" and we were still working on the drinks that we had. After that the girl who primarily took care of us, I never got her name thick black rim glasses very cute black dress possibly the hostess, we saw her more than anna. All our water glasses were empty and we were going out to the water dispensers by the fire pit to fill our Waters, we did want a second round of drinks but we didn't get any! At one point we located Anna up at the bar and I went up and ordered the desserts, that none of us really wanted but for the sake of the birthday we got them. Anna came by dropped them on the table and walked away without saying a word and basically ran away. Some of us wanted coffee, I wanted an espresso martini but at this point we weren't even given the opportunity. It seemed that she was more concerned with cleaning up the bar, maybe to get out of there as fast as possible, than taking care of her guests, because we noticed she was there or not on the floor at all. We also noticed that the 20% tip was already added on the bill and we actually wanted to lower it, but at that point we just wanted to leave. We left around 9:30/9:45. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rooftop for a friend's birthday celebration, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The exceptional service and the staff members, particularly the restaurant manager Miranda, made our visit truly memorable.

Upon arriving at Rooftop, we were greeted warmly by the staff and shown to our table. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming, with a lovely rooftop setting that provided a pleasant atmosphere for our celebration.

The menu offered a decent variety of dishes, but I must admit that the food itself was only average. The flavors were satisfactory, but nothing stood out as particularly remarkable. However, it is important to note that we were a large party, and mistakes or misassignments can happen in such situations. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, there was a little misunderstanding regarding the order.

However, what truly impressed me was the swift response and accountability demonstrated by the staff. As soon as they became aware of the mix-up, they took immediate action to rectify the situation. Miranda, the restaurant manager, personally intervened and ensured that our food was prepared and served as originally ordered. Her attentiveness and willingness to go ABOVE AND BEYOND to resolve the issue were commendable.

Not only did Miranda ensure that our food was corrected, but she also took the initiative to remove the affected items from our bill. This gesture of goodwill, along with her sincere apology, demonstrated a commitment to customer satisfaction that deserves recognition!!

Throughout the evening, the staff members were attentive, friendly, and accommodating. They made sure that our needs were met and provided prompt service whenever required. Their professionalism and positive attitude contributed greatly to the overall dining experience.

While the food at Rooftop may not have been outstanding, the exceptional service and the efforts of the staff, particularly Miranda, left a lasting impression. The restaurant's prompt response to the misunderstanding and their commitment to making things right were truly commendable. I would recommend Rooftop to others, not only for its pleasant atmosphere but also for the exceptional service provided...
