My recent visit to Providence G Pub was a stark contrast to the vibrant, engaging atmosphere I've come to expect. Formerly a hotspot for socializing, good food, and enjoyable games, my experience this time around left much to be desired.
The evening started promisingly enough, gathering with friends for a game of pool. However, what should have been a simple game turned into a frustrating ordeal when the cue ball got lodged in the machine after a scratch. Seeking assistance, we approached the manager, who initially seemed accommodating, assuring us he'd retrieve the necessary key to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, that assurance turned hollow as time passed, and the manager never returned. Instead, we observed him nonchalantly wandering the premises, seemingly indifferent to our plight.
This incident cast a shadow over what used to be a fun-filled establishment. What once felt like a lively hub for entertainment now resembled a neglected arcade with appalling customer service. The neglect we experienced significantly tarnished the overall experience. The fact that the food at Providence G Pub remains commendable only highlights the stark contrast between the quality of the cuisine and the abysmal decline in service.
It's disheartening to witness such a drastic shift in the establishment's standards. The neglect of patrons' needs and the dismissive attitude displayed by the manager toward a simple request for assistance marred what could have been an enjoyable evening. I hope that management takes these concerns seriously and works to restore the once-uplifting ambiance and reliable service that patrons used to associate with Providence G Pub. Until then, it's regrettable to say that my future visits to this establishment...
Read moreThis could have easily been a 4 or 5 star review. They started losing points quickly starting when our party of four had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, even though the pub was half empty. A staff member walked by and said “we’ll be right with you,” and we continued to wait for 5 minutes.
When we were finally seated, the hostess sat us in a booth directly behind a party of six who were being loud and obnoxious. I asked her if we could move to a different booth (since there were six open booths, no need to sit directly next to another party). Hostess asked if we would like to sit in the back of the pub to get away from everyone else. I asked “is it a booth?” She said “‘no, the only booths are over here.” I said, “well we’d like a booth, just not next to this other party since they’re being loud.” She rolled her eyes at me and said “well YOU tell me where you’d like to sit and I’ll clean the table for you,” very rudely, and gave a very fake smile.
After that bad start. I really liked the style and the scenery of the pub. Very comfortable atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly. Has the potential to be a great place to visit, if you can get good service from the staff.
Most of our party was satisfied with the food. I personally ordered the goat-cheese ravioli. It was delicious, I would rate it 9/10 for flavor. I was, however, a bit dissatisfied that I only got 6 ravioli’s for $17. The ingredients seemed high quality, but I didn’t even get some bread or a small side. Also ordered a draft beer for $7, a bit pricey especially considering it came in a plastic solo cup.
Has the potential to be a great place to visit, but probably won’t be coming back.
Overall: Service - 5/10 Food - 9/10 Atmosphere -...
Read moreWhile the food is good and the restaurant spacious, I don't feel as if this is a place I leave extremely happy with at the end. I have been here a couple of times since they opened and this past time was for the advertised country night. I was celebrating my birthday and made sure too look online at their page, but when we arrived we were told there were no BBQ plates going on and no drink specials either. So obviously I was naturally disappointed even though I just decided to continue on. I ordered a cocktail, the lavender moon, which i should start out by saying they were extremely overpriced. The drink was beautiful with it's bright lavender purple color but tasted absolutely terrible, sort of like lemon rind. I was going to order a beer next but the tap options wasn't really calling out to me so I got the g tea and I don't think that was much better than the lavender moon. The food however was all pretty good. We ordered the tuna bites and calamari for appetizers. The tuna bites were delicious and probably my favorite part of the meal. Then I ordered buffalo Mac and cheese and my boyfriend ordered a fish sandwich. Both dishes were a little underwhelming but tasted good atleast. My friend ordered the b.l.t.a and the bread looked good. Overall I left regretting even going there for my birthday, for the price we paid we could of had a better meal somewhere else and it wasn't really what...
