My experience at this hotel was deeply unsettling and unacceptable due to the behavior of a front desk staff member, Lizabeth. Jean, the manager, initially called my room regarding Lizabeth’s claim that I had brought a dog into the hotel, likely because she assumed our duffle bags were holding a tiny dog. This accusation was completely false, as neither I nor my girlfriend had a dog.
Later, while I was unloading water bottles from my car, Lizabeth called me over to the lobby and escalated the situation. She aggressively accused me again and, during this interaction, she threatened that if someone couldn’t inspect my room for a dog, she would have no choice but to charge my room an additional $100.
During this confrontation, Lizabeth put on personal Ray-Ban video recording glasses and began filming me. I asked her for permission to record her in return, since she was already recording me, and she agreed. Luckily, I was able to record everything with no gaps, whereas Lizabeth would conveniently stop recording whenever it suited her. However, instead of addressing my concerns about why I was being filmed and whether this was company policy, she became argumentative, interrupted me repeatedly, and refused to provide clear answers.
Eventually, Lizabeth called over Jean, the manager, along with another staff member. When I raised my concerns about Lizabeth’s actions—particularly her statement about recording me and her use of personal recording devices—I was initially gaslighted as they claimed the footage was from hotel security cameras. However, it was later confirmed that Lizabeth had indeed used her personal phone and glasses to record me. This alarming breach of privacy left me feeling harassed and unsafe.
Jean ultimately refunded my stay and offered a free night as compensation. However, Lizabeth’s creepy, aggressive, and unprofessional behavior made it impossible for us to feel comfortable staying there, and we decided to find another hotel. This incident has caused significant distress, and I am currently evaluating all available options to ensure this matter is addressed appropriately. I sincerely hope the hotel management takes this incident seriously and implements the necessary measures to prevent such misconduct in the future.
I appreciate Jean’s effort to de-escalate the situation, but I felt extremely harassed by Lizabeth’s refusal to stop escalating. However, I am also upset with Jean for attempting to gaslight me in the moment to support Lizabeth, especially since I have...
Read moreIf you're looking for an amazing experience from a wonderful hotel staff, Ayres Hotel is THE place for it. This sounds like an opening for an ad, but I can't praise them enough - my coworker and I had to fly out from the East Coast to ship out over 300 packages from our hotel room, and everyone who works here had been nothing but kind, generous, and overly accommodating.
They were always cheerful and ready to help when we would bring down a bunch of packages each day that had to sit and wait to be picked up. They helped us carry and load up the mail truck when it arrived. They didn't judge or make us feel weird for our crazy and constant requests. The staff make our incredibly stressful situation feel much more tolerable, and that's more than we could have hoped for.
As far as the actual stay, the beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic, and the outdoor seating area was a nice, calm relief after being in the room for so long. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean, and the pool + hot tub were great!
All in all, with our unique situation, I give this experience a 1000000000000/10. Thank you to everyone at the Ayres Hotel for literally...
Read moreHorrible customer service, very disappointed with the staff. Booked hotel, gave me a handicapped room, but did not complain. Checked in, took luggage to room and left to visit family here in California. Came back with my daughters to sleep. Woke up to go back to Arizona and went to shave and sink did not drain (ok). Turned on shower and no hot water yet sink had hot water. Could not shower and neither did my two daughters. Called from room to notify them of situation. Could not do anything cause their maintenance department does not start till 9am and I called the desk at 6:20am. When I checked out, I asked them to remedy the situation, but since I made the mistake of booking through Hotels.com they could not compensate me according to their policy at Ayres. Disappointed because had no issues the seven other times in the last month I have been coming in and out of Ca., to be dismissed as they did not value my patronage is regretful. A 10% discount for not being able to take a shower is insulting to a customer. Was just seeking an accommodating result of the situation in which...
