Me and my family came to the pumpkin patch for the first time and it's so freaking cute! Everything was so fun! I do have one piece of advice though, when I was at the shop there were these two older woman who were checking people out and when I came up to the counter the lady was giving off some weird vibes, she didn't smile or ask me how I was or anything she seemed kind of irritated, and then while I was checking out I had to call my husband to send me money because I bought a few xtra things and it did take him a lil while to send it like 5 minutes. And I apologized for the delay and she kinda made a smart remark saying "it's fine but we have a ton of people in line now so..." and said it in a annoyed voice and I was trying to make small talk while I was waiting and I asked what kind of cat was in the counter because they were so cute and sweet and she said "ugh..idk". And I'm not sure if she was just having a rough day or if she had something against me lol but it wasn't a super friendly Encounter for me. But there was this SUPER sweet girl who was younger and she had long curled brown hair and she was just so freaking sweet to me the moment I walked into the doors. She had the biggest smile on her face and she was just glowing with kindess. She deserves a raise! I actually had to go back in to grab something else later on and she was the one to check me out and she did so amazing, she also had to wait like 2 min for me to switch money over in my banks and she was like "oh girl don't even worry you're fine" she smiled, she was happy and complimented me and told me to have a good rest of my night (which the other lady did not). And that made my night. It really does matter how you treat people in the service industry. Sadly I've had bad encounters with people who treat me differently because of how I look and I want to give the lady the benefit of the doubt that she was just having a bad day, but I could feel her bad vibes radiating and I think it's important not to put that off on the customers. Other than that I hope to be back! I really did love the place so much and so did the...
Read moreWe used to love Petersen's. Even back then things were kind of expensive, but not terrible though. We went today to the newly branded farm, the Kinlands. The name is going to take a minute to get used to, but I kind of get the vibe they're going for. We live in Salt Lake County where all the millennials think they live on a farm so they will never be hurting for business. First of all, $1 per pound of pumpkin seems excessive. We spent A LOT on our pumpkins. 4 large pumpkins-$90!!! Second, everything in the farmhouse marketplace is wildly overpriced . . . $24 for one jar of apple pie filling? $11 for a small bag of candy. Wow! But, we haven't been for a few years and my kids wanted to get pumpkins here for nostalgia's sake. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is that I'm not 100% sure they are in accordance with health code laws. They have pastries, caramel apples and cookies sitting out in the public space, at children's table height without wrappers. When we were there multiple children's grubby hands, that had previously been touching all sorts of things (including goats) in the fields, were now touching all the cookies, cronuts and caramel apples. There was even an employee restocking cookies and she said absolutely nothing to these children. We were pretty grossed out. When we went to make our purchase, I mentioned to the employee that if their food was going to be out in the open, they should have everything wrapped. She didn't seem to care and just shrugged her shoulders. So, I'm not sure what type of business they're classified as, but I would be wary of their open aired desserts, no matter how tempting they look. Also, my daughter got a cronut ( we got one in the back, middle of the tallest table) and there were weird leaves...
Read moreMy first time there it was only four days before Christmas. My kids and my grandmother were looking for a Christmas tree. When I initially called over the phone I was quoted a complete different price for the trees and times for Santa. The only reason why I went because I was told there was a Santa Claus and goats to pet so I thought that would be nice for the kids. I was told they would be open till 9pm. I got there a little before 8:30 Santa was leaving. Although Santa was really nice a did go out of his way to talk to my kids and allow me to take a picture. We were pretty much the only ones there.. we were not greeted. When I finally found someone outside to help us I wanted to buy a tree. There were only a few left. They were very small and short and a little discombobulated.. They wanted $100 for a tiny tree that was leftover that nobody wanted and again only four days before Christmas... then I was trying to see how to pet the goats or whatever and that didn’t happen either nobody helped me. So I drove alll the way down there for nothing the kids had no fun at all.. But I had to buy a tree and the WORST PART is when we took the tree home I couldn’t even help the kids decorate it nor my 3 year old because the smell of goat poop just illuminated my house!!! The smelll was awful!! The whole point for my family to get a real tree is to smell the pine smell not goat poop!! Worst tree everrrr it stunk so bad!!! and they wanted waaayyyy too much money for their trees!!! I will neverrrr...
