So, this is my second review. I had previously reviewed their Dal Maharani and it turned out super super bad. I decided to give them a second chance since the head chef out there promised me they would prepare it better next time round.
Today, I ordered Malai Kofta from them and turns out they have gave me Kofta balls in Paneer Tikka Masala curry and not the Malai Kofta curry ( which some of you who have eaten out there before might know). And the curry had a total of 3 Kofta balls. Simply RIDICULOUS !!! I didn’t pay 14 dollars to eat just the paneer tikka masala curry. See the photos of the curry I was served today. My kid had to eat whatever they gave us since it was way past dinner time for her.
These guys keep raising their prices every now and then (a curry is 14 dollars now despite their online menu saying it’s 10/11 dollars ) and provide such terrible service.
The owners of Himalayan Kitchen replied this to my review "sorry for your issued we don't understand whey you don't like i see you are the only one customer complain about our food please if you like you welcome if you don't like our food please go somebody else sorry for that thank you for your feedback ."
My answer to the reply of yours (since I can't put in another reply to it) is that this is a review forum. It is a public forum. I didn't give a review to please you. This is my feedback on the food you have been serving off late. Himalayan Kitchen was way better in previous years. Your food quality has degraded. I also want to make sure others are aware how you fool customers by giving any random curries to people. It can't be a yellow Malai Kofta curry one day and a red one the other day. See the attached photo and admit your mistake for once. I see you never do that in the other 1 or 2 star reviews you get either so that is probably how you guys are used to answering. I would not be posting this reply if you had admitted your mistake in the first place. Also, I am not the only one who has complained about the inconsistent food (see Beth Peregrine's review as well). Being an Indian, I know what curry is what. I myself will definitely go somewhere else (thanks for your advice), but I will make sure others read my review and make the right choice on whether or not they do really want to get the real taste of Indian food and spices. This is not how a restaurant should operate, in my opinion. You should look at Bombay House (Folks - Bombay house is highly recommended by the way) and see how they maintain their food consistency which eventually has made them such a popular Indian restaurant in SLC for the past...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Himalayan Kitchen restaurant and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that instantly made me feel at home.
The menu at Himalayan Kitchen is a true culinary journey through the Himalayan region. With a wide variety of dishes from Nepal, India, and Tibet, there is something to satisfy every palate. The flavors and spices used in their dishes are authentic and truly transport you to the heart of the Himalayas.
One dish that particularly stood out to me was the Chicken Tikka Masala. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, and the creamy tomato-based sauce was bursting with flavor. It was accompanied by fragrant basmati rice and freshly baked naan bread, which were the perfect complements to the dish.
Another highlight of my dining experience was the attentive and friendly service. The staff at Himalayan Kitchen went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were more than happy to provide recommendations based on my preferences.
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with traditional Himalayan artwork adorning the walls. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
I also appreciated the reasonable prices at Himalayan Kitchen. Considering the quality and portion sizes of the dishes, I found the prices to be very fair and affordable.
Overall, I highly recommend Himalayan Kitchen restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The combination of authentic flavors, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere make it a standout choice. Whether you are a fan of Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, Himalayan Kitchen is sure to leave a...
Read moreIt’s hard to please me if the service is slacking. This place is crazy delicious!! So please take the following as lighthearted fun:
If you want an accurate order this may not be your place
If you want to use one of their TWO guest WiFi networks think again
If you like to order your food sooner than 20 mins after you are seated- let’s put those patience pants on.
If you like someone looking directly into your eyes, you waving them down and then no interaction for another 10 minutes, GOOD LUCK! This is your place!
I waved down both people who seemed to be serving, I could tell this is not what they did all the time, I ordered and the food came out fairly promptly, although it was not everything I ordered most of it was there.
When I tell you I LOVE good Indian food, I can say I’m an avid fan! From Hawaii to Alaska New York Europe and Thailand- I’m going to find the best food I can!
I can tell you the food makes up for all of the service issues - I took my first bite and literally paused- was this real? If I could give them 100 stars I would- 5 is not enough. The garlic naan is what you imagine your average place when you order and then it shows up bird and disappointing- EACH PIECE WAS PERFECT. The dishes are enough to easily feed two people and the FLAVOR….
I could write a love novel about the depth of the flavor- but I’ll let check it out for your self. Don’t be in a rush when you get here, but you need...
