MY DAUGHTER WAS MISTREATED BY SOUTH JORDAN'S GENERAL MANAGER AS AN EMPLOYEE, AND WE WILL NEVER GO BACK. She was hired and trained and then got bronchitis, so she was out for 2 weeks, but she kept in communication with them and turned in urgent care notes. When she returned to work, James (the general manager) forced her to retrain for a day, so she made $7.25/hour. Her next shift back, after giving her 7 tables, then scaling her down to 2 when she requested no more than 5, he berated her for looking at her phone for 30 seconds when she had a lull in work (when that's what she learned was okay because all her coworkers did it) by saying "Can you find something else to do with your time besides that?" No one had trained her to look for side jobs. She was taught to wait on her customers.
James ordered her to sweep, then she went to do it, and apparently went to the wrong section (he told her to go to section 28 and she went where she thought it was). He came over to her, told her she was in the wrong place, and just said "Give it to me" and ripped it out of her hands so he could do it himself. Her coworkers warned her about him, saying that no one liked him because he was mean to everyone. But he was even worse to her.
She was told by a coworker where to find the schedule online (she said her coworkers were great), so she did that last Sunday night, and it said she wasn't scheduled on Monday. But apparently she WAS scheduled. James, in complete disregard for his new employee, didn't try contacting her and simply decided that her absence meant she had quit and told the manager to send her home and tell her she couldn't work at all that week if she came to work the next day, then he promptly went out of town. My daughter had finally made it through training, her illness, mistreatment by this awful manager, and was really excited about finally being scheduled 4 times that week. She has bills like everyone else. But JAMES said she couldn't work any of her shifts that week and she needed to come talk to HIM on Sunday.
While waiting all week for him to return (and texting him without a response), she asked her coworkers if he was the only one who fired people. They said no. Why would he demand that she meet with him specifically? Apparently because he was looking forward to firing her, in person, without a warning, and without any compassion whatsoever. When she asked why he made her wait all week, instead of just letting someone else give her the news, he said HE (the general manager) had to be the one to do it. She already knew differently, but she didn't argue. Instead, she told him that, while working there, she felt like he always had something negative to say to her, and she had a hard time working with him as a result. His response was a grunt. Her customers loved her, but James didn't care about that.
James just wanted to make sure he had the privilege of being the jerk, because he loves stomping on people and ripping brooms out of their hands when they're doing their best to learn a job, and get to know new people, and they're not even told there's a paper schedule hung in the restaurant. He told her it just wasn't going to work, because they needed someone who would show up. Translation: We need someone who knows where to look for the schedule without us telling them, someone who doesn't get sick, and someone who lets me, James the leader, walk ALL over them.
We used to love going there. We went there for my daughter's birthday every year because it was her favorite restaurant. We will NEVER go there again, never support a restaurant run by a narcissist, sadist imbecile named James. Go ANYWHERE else. This place has...
Read moreFirst of all I love Burgers and I have always loved Burgers since I was a kid. So, I know a good burger when I see one!
I don't normally complain and am a big tipper for good food and service!
With that being said, my family and I had come to this Red Robin in the past quit a bit. But something has changed (for the worse) recently and my experience today (02/29/2020) was one of the worst experiences I have had at any restaurant and 'Gourmet Burger', seriously? I could have got a better burger for a 1/4 the cost at the In and Out down the road.
I ordered the Whiskey River BBQ Burger and once I got my order couldn't believe it! I paid $ 12 for a burger that was slightly bigger than the burger my 4 year old got from the kids menu. Furthermore, I did not see an ounce of BBQ sauce and there was a very small amount of onion rings on the burger. Oh and the bun was also hard. It was unbelievable! I brought it to the attention of the waiter and he agreed. He then went and got the General Manager and oh my goodness, this lady was rude and unprofessional and thus my review here. She proceeded to argue with me. She told me the BBQ sauce was under the cheese (which I lifted the cheese right in front of her and you could barely see any BBQ sauce ESPECIALLY for a $ 12 burger ) and that my burger was much better quality than I led on. She was very rude and I am amazed that she is in the position she was in. However, this probably explains exactly why the burger was sub-par at best! I regret not taking a photo to share. But I did take a photo of my actual glass of water which appears to be the same quality! See below
This just happened as I am writing this review: My 4 year old ate everything she was served in her order and we just got home 25-30 minutes ago and she is complaining she is hungry again. Unbelievable!
I'll never go back to this Red Robin or maybe any Red Robin for that matter because of this experience. It's a shame too, as my wife and I have 5 kids and usually spend no less than $100 a pop when we go out to eat.
If you have ANY other option, I would take it. As long as this General Manager is in charge, I do not see anything improving...
Read moreFirst bad experience with this restaurant but it was a big one!
First calling in to place my order was a nightmare. I kept getting disconnected as soon as someone picked up the phone. It was my kid’s school fundraiser night so I stuck with it. I finally got a connection and ordered my food to pick up later for dinner and was told I just needed to tell the person I got it from that it was for the school fundraiser.
When I when to pick it up it was nowhere to be found. The woman there said she didn’t have an order under my name. Then another guy came out and recognized my order from the time I was on the phone. They went back to look for it. The woman came back and said it would be 5 minutes because they had waited to make it for me to make sure it was fresh. I called that lie out and flat out asked if they had just forgot to make it. She replied, “Well the problem is YOU ordered to early so it got lost over shift change.” Uh, sorry but it’s not my fault you didn’t do your job! You shouldn’t blame the customer when they loose an order!! You also don’t lie strait to their face like that! You apologize! Well about 15 minutes latter I get my meal.
During the 15 minute wait I had to track down a flyer in my email to email to one of the employees there because they were now saying they needed the flyer instead of me just saying what the fundraiser was.
When I got home the food was obviously not up to par with what I’ve had from them before. I know they rushed to make it but they should have had it ready for the time I said I ordered it. They also forgot the honey mustard sauce I ordered on the side.
I’m really disappointed this is one of the few places that my husband can eat safely with his food allergies (which I will give them some credit for they did prepare his food safely every if the burgers were a little rarer than they usually are). Not sure we will ever...
