Like many of the reviews on here, I wanted to warn of the FAKE Sonny Angels that are sold at this store even though they are being represented as authentic. My daughter literally asked the rude woman at the counter if they were real and she said yes. My daughter even jokingly asked "do you swear on your life?" and the woman still guaranteed the legitimacy of the items even though her eternal soul was on the line.
In all honesty, I truly believe she didn't know one way or the other, but that does not excuse lying about their authenticity or the general lack of knowledge of the products they sell. What other items in this shop are fake? All of them?
Not only are they fake, but their damn heads fell off the minute they were removed from the package! It was unfortunate that by the time we discovered this scam, we had already left the area, otherwise I would've demanded a refund.
Like many of the other reviews here, I can also attest to the rudeness of the staff. The woman not only lied to a child, possibly damning herself to eternal hellfire by swearing on her life, but she was sarcastic and seemed annoyed that we would question whether they were selling legitimate merchandise.
My next course of action will be to sit outside the shop with a guitar like the other buskers on St. George street and sing songs about the poor customer service and shoddy merchandise at Bonita Boutique. I've already started on some lyrics:
"If you want to shop local and don't care about price Try Bonita Boutique though the staff is not nice"
"Do you like fake merch that'll make you scoff? Buy Sonny Angels and watch their heads fall off"
"The staff will be rude to your kids and your wife But they won't be here long, because they swear on their life!"
Sorry, this is still a work...

I visited Bonita Bontique in St. Augustine on Sunday and was extremely disappointed with both the quality of merchandise and the level of service. I unknowingly purchased what were presented as authentic Sonny Angels, only to discover after leaving the store that they were in fact counterfeit. These were marketed and displayed as the genuine product, which is deeply misleading. Unfortunately, the store had already closed by the time this became apparent, so there was no opportunity to address the issue in person.
More troubling is the fact that these items were being eagerly purchased by families, young collectors, and unsuspecting customers—all unaware they were buying fakes. This kind of deceptive practice not only undermines consumer trust but also raises legal and ethical concerns.
In addition, the customer service experience was remarkably poor. The young woman at the register seemed untrained and overwhelmed. She moved without any sense of urgency and struggled significantly with the store’s point-of-sale system. It took over 30 minutes to check out, during which time a long line formed behind us. The employee appeared completely unaware of or indifferent to the growing frustration of customers waiting.
This was a disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I strongly encourage the store’s management to reconsider the integrity of their product sourcing and invest in basic employee training. Customers...
Read moreWill never shop here again. The older lady, I’m assuming the owner, was extremely rude. Almost ran into me then glared at me until I moved out of her way and sighed anytime I put something down. Probably because I have tattoos and came from the gym I didn’t look “the part” so she assumed I wasn’t going to purchase anything I’m not sure…but she was nice to the other 5 people in there and this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this happen here. Sadly I planned to purchase a few dresses and a purse, but decided to leave and spend my money elsewhere. There goes probably over 500 dollars in sales for her. If you do go, try the St.George location they are usually...
