The husband and I decided to try this place one day when Chilis had a long wait and I was impressed by the waiter at the time. He was really friendly and although he said he was new, he had a pretty good grasp of the menu.
He made recommendations of things to try and nailed it! The pad woonsen has been my go-to dish here ever since.
Unfortunately, when we placed an online order for takeout a few days ago, the service was not as impressive.
My husband works down the road so I placed the order 20 minutes before he got off, with the expectation that it would be ready when he got there. Instead, when he arrived the waiter made no effort to acknowledge that my husband was waiting.
According to my husband, the man seemed somewhat busy so my husband was patient and waited about 10 minutes as the dine-ins were being taken care of. It was once my husband noticed the man making small talk in the back that he was done waiting and walked to the back himself to get the waiter's attention.
The waiter spent several minutes looking for our order which had been sitting next to the register the entire time. By the time my husband got it, all of the food was barely warm and by the time he made it home it had to be reheated.
Not the greatest online experience but we've dined in 5+ times and it is...

I thought it would be some kind of Latin/Asian fusion fare but was pleasantly surprised that it was very Thai focused (which is exactly what I was hoping for). Spoke with the two very friendly people who were working in the store, who turned out to be the owners. A Latin man and a Thai woman, of course! If you're a Thai food fan, the menu has all of the expected items. I ordered chicken w/ Thai basil and vegetables ( pad grapraow gai). Requested maximum spicy. Food was prepared quickly. Walked back to my hotel room to have my lunch and the food was still steaming hot, fresh and exactly what I was expecting. The portion was enough for two - although I ate it all myself! Generous amounts of sliced chicken and a proportional amount of mixed vegetables. The sauce was fragrant from the basil, slightly sweet and pleasantly spicy (although a click or two higher on the spicy scale would've been ideal for me.) To top it off, the lunch price is a great value. The kind of place where you would want to keep coming back to try everything on the menu. Maybe you could offer some sort of small plate options, you know, like tapas? Such a shame that they're not in Dallas. Next time I'm in San Antonio,...
Read more$15 for a chicken & broccoli that didn't come with rice and had maybe 4 pieces of broccoli. The entire dish was onions. An absurd amount of onions. Save your money and go to a better Thai place.
I'm not sure how to post a response to a comment so I'll just add it here. I'm not trying to bash your small business. I ordered from you to begin with, I was trying to support it. So I thought long and hard about if I should post a negative review and I'm glad I did. The food was really just that bad. Bad enough that I felt the need to warn others on Google REVIEWS where you can tell others about your experience. Whether it be good or bad. You still have the option to refund me, instead you'd rather make petty remarks and make your business look even worse. I think you should put your effort into making a decent product and think long and hard about why you have customers saying your pad thai tastes like burnt hair.
There is no way I will ever recommend this establishment to anyone ever. Good luck to you.
I would never try to tarnish a reputation. You're doing that just fine on your own. Again, I was just leaving an honest review. I had no idea the owner would act this childish and display so much anger instead of trying to make things right for the sake of...
