Me and my husband stay in the Park Hotel for 9 days. The room has high ceilings and we ask for a private bathroom. IT comes with a bath tub and shower, the sink is located outside the bathroom, on the bedroom. This was odd, but usable without problems.( I attached to the mirror above the sink, sticky hooks , very useful little things, for the hand towel) The bed was confortable, and the bedroom included a dresser, a table with chair, a mini fridge. The closet was good enough for the 2 of us, with a shelf above. The heat was a concern of mine, and the window brought the cold wind inside the room, BUT the noise of the city was very loud ( we faced a noise street )so the window had to remain closed. A fan was borrowed from the desk. BE sure to ask for a hairdryer, if you didn't bring one. THE housekeeping was, for me, the weak point, it was done once a week, so I clean the bathroom the whole week( I am a clean freak). TOWELS WERE change only that time, when housekeeping came. I guess you could ask the desk if they can be replaced often. There was a room placed to separate recycle, organic and trash. THEY don't offer any meals, just coffee ( whenever you need it) with cream, cups) I bought mine meals and kept them fresh on the mini fridge, heated it up on the microwave and take my meal to my room.
THEY had a room with microwave, a electric kettle, and toaster, tables and chair, if you wanted to have breakfast. NICE nook . The first floor had the coffee, a microwave too, and the laundry space. The reception had a big tv, and a comfortable sofa. The people at the reception were very nice, and helpful to us. The elevator was a nice touch for me, love the antiques and to ride one for free was fun( some people in reviews were appalled by it) When it was our check out time, they offer a lock room to kept our suitcases, and we hang around on the reception space until it was time to go. As our keys were deliver back to the desk, we could use the share bathrooms anyway. I AM from Valparaiso, Chile and the room reminded of the style of old houses. After all I had a great time, and I think all of the bad reviews were from upscaled people who wanted a 5 star hotel without paying the price. THE price was low and the room was ok. If I revisited San Francisco I definitely stay here again, very close to the main streets, and very close to 7 eleven, Walgreens and Cvs, if you need something urgent, it is only 3...
Read moreI booked for an emergency work trip. Hotel was near the office. When I arrived there were trash cans at the curb and it smelled terrible. Once inside there was a guest that wanted to go into the room they had rented to get a phone charger, and the counter clerk insisted it wasn't there. They went back and forth for several minutes before I was helped. The clerk said the room was the one I had booked and he'd go check again. We did the paperwork and went upstairs. Could barely fit through the elevator door with one suitcase and a backpack. I get to my room, the clerk searches it and hands me a key to my door and a fob to get in the front door. As I was there for work I sat down and set up my laptop and went to connect to the network. I work in healthcare and my computer refused to connect because it was an open network. Without the barest of security on the wifi, I could not connect to my VPN and work. I went down to the front desk and told them that I was there for a work trip and I was unable to work because their wifi didn't have adequate security. I was told it was "standard wifi" and that I "might get a refund, he didn't know". I checked out 30 minutes after checking in, and they charged me for the full 6 nights at a total of $2600 because I didn't cancel within the 24 hour window (I booked 25 hours before) and they said I should have called and asked about the security of their wifi....Who thinks a business would have less security on their wifi than your home internet service?? I tried talking to the manager who insisted that they couldn't rebook the room (that's a lie) and it was my fault for not checking with them. Terrible service. They're hiding behind the 24 hour cancellation period which I had zero control over. As my company's HQ is in San Fran, I will be notifying our travel and finance departments of the filthy behavior of management and the facility to make sure none of our other...
Read morePro: The location as you are near Chinatown and SFMOMA but that’s about it. There’s television set that has 3 channels only, which was fine. Wifi was okay.||Cons: The room was slanted! Literaly, I’d get dizzy walking around the room. The carpet floors smell terrible. One of my pillow cases had a stain, and the pillows were not comfortable. There was also some sort of bugs crawling up the bed. I got the room with a private bathroom. Bathroom was clean (thank God). The closet had mismatched hangers (includinga broken one). There’s only 1 window which I suggest you keep the curtains covered so you can’t see the other guests/rooms. I had a hard time sleeping since I’d open the window to let the air in but I could hear the person from the next room snoring since their window was also open. The elevator was terrible and the personel at the front desk don’t even help you open the elevator door. I chose to take the stairs instead which were narrow amd dirty (could see popcorn on the floor). If you really must choose to stay here, stay with a friend. Although I stayed alone I didn’t feel entirely safe or comfortable. Not going to stay here again. ||*If you watched The Shining, that’s what the hallway and bathroom looked like. I have no pics of my actual room cause it was...
