Super 8 by Wyndham San Jose Airport — Hotel in San Jose

After mopping up raw sewage all day in my home basement from a plumbing failure, room 131 at this dilapidated motel was an improvement. At least this roach motel had a working toilet, which our home did not after the day's events. Fortunately, we stayed on the second floor, which is why we think we only found one cockroach (compared to the many cockroaches reported in other reviews, and our room seemed to be mercifully lacking bed bugs).

Unfortunately, despite a strong need for a shower after the day's events, the shower in our room didn't function properly: for when you turned on the faucet, the entire wall began to shake, producing a loud hammering sound. On the bright side, there was colorful pink graffiti in the bathroom, exuberantly declaring "CREAM" - which must have been cleaned up using the facial tissues as the wall-mounted tissue box was entirely empty.

Unfortunately, while the room was listed as non-smoking, the smell of smoke was present, along with scorch marks on the bed covers, and a vacant space on the ceiling where a smoke detector once existed. So if the loose wall outlet that the broken room lamp was plugged into started a fire, there would be no sound to let you know of the trouble.

Though a fire might not be such a bad thing for this place, but remember to bring your own hangers for roasting marshmallows, as the room coat rack contained no hangers. But in all seriousness, the bathroom floor was damaged, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall from water damage, and the ceiling was a testament to a novice's dedication to filling every hole with ample caulk then painting over the mess.

At least the HVAC worked, and the refrigerator was zealous - for it nearly froze our milk solid overnight.

And as a way to underscore the extraordinary experience, a random car door was in the parking lot come morning to bid us farewell.

While I wouldn't give it zero stars, it is less than one star. Perhaps 5/7ths of a star...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ROACH INFESTED ESTABLISHMENT!! We booked this place for 4 days. The first night we came in it was very late & so from the get go I should have known it was a huge red flag. They put our party of 3 into a handicap room cause it was the only one they said they had for the first night of our stay was that one but then they immediately put us in another room. Mind you it wasn’t the best but we made it do as it was late and we were tired. The next day we left early for the whole day & when we came back we were looking forward to a nice hot shower. ABSOLUTELY NO HOT WATER! I called the office to mention there was no hot water as well as some light fixtures that weren’t working & NO SMOKE ALARM!! He said there was nothing he could do till the morning and that he would get us into another room at that time. So the next morning we get up to cook some breakfast as we brought an air fryer to make some food and we noticed cockroaches 🪳 around the microwave. At that point I was done & we packed up & left. They refunded us for the last 2 nights of our stay as we had already stayed 2 nights but I complained about getting a refund for the 2nd night we stayed cause he wouldn’t move us even though he said he tried to move us which was false. After not liking my complaint and telling them I would dispute all charges to our card with the bank he said he would refund a 3rd night for us. Originally he argued that they could only refund 2 nights. We went next door to the Hampton Inn & we washed all our clothing,took a hot shower & feel so much better. This Super 8 establishment also has people running in and out at all hours of the night,people were drinking and leaving their trash around our car. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND SHOULD NOT EVEN BE OPEN!! STAY CLEAR FROM THIS HOTEL!!! NOT...

Welcome To The Roach Motel!

I needed a place to stay for 2 nights because I was working late the day before & had an early appointment in the morning. I had a choice between this one and another that was less than two miles away and needless to say, I made the wrong choice! I reserved a room with 1 King Bed with Sofa bed, Accessible, Non-Smoking (Mobility/Hearing, Roll-In Shower), but there was no sofa bed or enough space for one and it did not contain a roll-in shower. I discovered a lot of bugs crawling around in the tub, floor, walls, furniture, mattress, and found some dead ones in the refrigerator and in the picture frame. I requested another room, but did not receive it until the next day. They provided me with some air freshener as bug spray, but they had to be saturated to stop them from moving. The maids did not do a very good job cleaning the rooms, especially the floors and under the bed. I received a better room upstairs the next day at around Noon, but the previous occupants were smokers and I had to air out all the toxic fumes with the fan. There were no pests, but it was missing a chair. I can't believe this dump was sold out and displaying a car that exploded and was destroyed in the parking lot is not the best way to make a good impression on guests. I don't blame the staff because they tried to help, but this place should be closed and upgraded if they can still afford to attract business. We can expect someone to contact us soon expressing remorse, but nothing short of a refund...
