My wife Jeanine and I spent 8 exceptional nights at the Inn on West Liberty earlier this month. We both can’t say enough great things about this Select Registry B&B. We stayed in the Pulaski Square Cottage which is across the quaint courtyard from the main house. It was quiet, comfortable and private. The furnishings were beautiful, the bed and linens were super comfortable and the bathroom was large and nicely appointed with a relaxing soaking tub for two! The kitchen and living room were both beautifully finished and furnished! The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Savory one day, sweet the next. Each breakfast started with some deliciously ripe and sweet fruit. My wife said more than once that the innkeepers, Patty and Suzy, should write a cookbook! Speaking of Patty and Suzy, they are wonderful - as is the rest of the staff. They all make you feel right at home and comfortable. You would think that they have been in the B&B business for their entire lives! They host a happy hour every evening that is both informal and easy! Mingle if you like or simply say hello and enjoy a table for two with a glass of wine and your special someone! The main house is beautifully restored and spotless as is the cottage and remainder of the property. The cottage was newer but had that ‘down-home’ feeling. You can tell it was remodeled with an eye for the finer finishes! The Inn is located so conveniently in the Historic District, we walked almost everywhere - enjoying some great food, beautiful architecture, art galleries and museums! We will without a doubt return to the Inn on West Liberty on our next visit to beautiful...
Read moreWhere do we begin? Let’s start with first impressions. As you approach the Inn, the grandeur of the steps leading to the large front doors is exactly what you expect from a historic area. Also one of the few Inns that offer dedicated parking spaces to guests. As you enter the foyer and main living area, the southern charm and ambiance makes you feel a sense awe and comfort at the same time. You can also enter the Inn through a rear courtyard that’s leads to a beautiful porch and the main kitchen. Besides the beauty and cleanliness of the Inn, Patty and Suzy are extremely gracious hosts. They truly want their guests to be comfortable and have spared no expense to do so. My wife and I have stayed here twice now. Both times we stayed in the Orleans room. The room was clean and well decorated. You get a feel for Old Savannah with all the modern luxuries. The bed was also very comfortable. Some rooms back up to West Liberty street, but we did not notice any excessive noise. You are in a bustling city so some noise should be expected. Like any old home in Savannah, traversing some steps is a must. But in case this isn’t possible, there is a small elevator that solves the problem. We’ve had a total of 4 breakfast meals here and each one was delicious. Given I’m usually picky about food, this says a lot. Patty and Suzy are happy to make recommendations on restaurants or things to do if you’d like. We felt the price point was right on target for the area. The location is as central as it gets. Short walk one direction to the river and short walk the other direction to Forsyth Park. We very well may have found “our place”...
Read moreWOW! I can’t put into words what an amazing experience staying here was. My husband and I picked the Inn on West Liberty as a one-night stop on our NJ to FL road trip. Travelling during COVID we were unsure what to expect, but the cleanliness, professionalism, and stellar service offered made us feel right at home. The place is immaculately maintained, there were a few amenities changed to by request only such as portable DVD players and bath robes which we would not have used for a one night stay but every detail is taken care of so guests can still have whatever they need. If the facility, with its historic charm but modern comforts, was not enough alone to convince you to stay here- just wait until you meet Patty & Suzy! I could spend a whole weekend just learning more about them, their Innkeeper journey, and taking notes for my bucket list- what a dream they have made come true. They were so welcoming and open to sharing about themselves and Savannah with us, really enabling us to maximize our super short stay and counting down until when we can come back. Breakfast was delicious and the wine hour and welcome tray was such a nice surprise after a long drive.
Pros: Suzy & Patty! Proximity to everything by foot, while still being tucked away enough to get the quiet charm of the city On site parking and close (cheap) parking garage if needed Hospitality and overall experience of staying here Adapted exceptionally to COVID precautions (spaced out dining in and outdoors, super clean, attention to detail in every aspect of stay)
Cons: We could only stay one night! Will definitely be...
