WAS NOT ADA COMPLIANT WEEK OF 3/19/18 And breakfast room never is. Having been invited by email by the Andante Inn to provide a review, I am doing just that. I visited with my parents on the week of March 19th to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. My father is 84. My dad walks with a cane, has balance issues and requested a handicapped room. The hotel itself is at the top of a hill, with the lobby and breakfast room at the bottom. There are 2 entrances on the east and west ends of the building. The handicapped room is in the center of the hallway almost equal distance and a long walk from either end. That placement alone is illogical and not very ADA friendly. If there had been an emergency, it would be very difficult for a handicapped individual to escape the room. When our rooms were reserved in January, no mention was made that construction would be taking place on the week of March 19th. When I called to make a change the week before, we were still not advised that construction was taking place. The construction, we were told, was to add balconies to the upper levels. This required scaffolding almost completely around the building, including across the walkways by the two doors. For some reason not explained, there was also a deep trench dug along the southside of the hotel building as well as the next building over. When we arrived, the only available handicapped parking spot was at the bottom of a hill and was really the spot for checking in, not for the rooms. The hotel itself sits on top of the hill. The other spaces were not available because they were blocked by construction trucks. We were told that the work was to be done between 9 am and 5 pm. However, the workers arrived and began work by 7:30 am. In addition, around 3 pm to 4 pm, just as my elderly parents were resting from the activities of the day, the work reached directly above their room, making rest impossible. Attempting to access the building itself was a challenge. On the west end, the scaffolding was placed in such a way that the door did not fully open. It completely blocked the walk from the curbless area where a wheelchair would have come in. It was necessary to step over a curb and planter between bushes to access the door. The door was heavy and difficult for my father. It was not accessible by wheelchair. On the other end of the building was a walkway that accessed the back parking lot and the front top of the hill with a walkway along the pool. The pool walkway ended in shallow wide steps. While my father was able to slowly navigate this, a wheelchair could not. The scaffolding at the top of the hill blocked much of the walkway and required one to walk under the scaffolding to get out. A wheelchair would not have made it. In addition, the workers did not clean up after themselves and wire was found laying across the path. If one went to the back parking area, it was necessary to navigate overlapping uneven unsecured pieces of plywood covering the trench. Again, a hazard for an elderly individual with a cane and impossible for a wheelchair. The breakfast area in the lobby again is barely usable by a person with a cane and not accessible by wheelchair. It is accessed through a very narrow hall that also holds the coffee and juice. The room itself appears to be no more than 10’x10’ and is jammed with at least 5 tables, each with 2-4 chairs. The food is on counters along the wall. When this, along with a broken TV, was brought to the general manager’s attention, he was unsympathetic, rude and demeaning. He refused to offer any form of resolution. I do not ever request a reduction in price and never seek anything for nothing. But in this instance, I would have expected an offer of a discount, certificates for the associated restaurant, or at least, a courteous, concern demeanor. I cannot recommend enough that you seek lodging elsewhere. This will be cross-posted for...
Read moreMy stay was the last full week of February 2018 on the north side of the building. This place was just an awful experience and the place is poorly managed.
General things about the place: -It's warm and muggy at all times. You do have temperature control, but as soon as the A/C goes off, it feels warm and muggy in a matter of minutes. You would be able to open a window, but construction on the north side of the building prohibits that. They cover your window while working. We had an especially brutal experience, which needs to be mentioned later. -The bed isn't the most comfortable. It feels dense and doesn't work well with how muggy it gets. You can use the A/C, but there's no speed setting. If you are a light or moderate sleeper, it's tough even with ear plugs. Our ear plugs cancelled 34 DB and was still a bit loud. As soon as the AC turns off, you feel pretty warm in bed. I personally had a hard time sleeping. -Management lies. They never apologized and never offered anything for putting up with construction and window being covered. We had an issue every day with our window being covered. The first night we had to ask and they said they called and sent maintenance. That was a lie, because we never received a call. Maintenance did come, but we were showering and he never said why he was there, so he left. -Breakfast is pretty basic and crammed. It's a room about the size of the motel room. There's some lady who works there who is a complete snob and the least friendly employee of a motel or hotel I've ever experienced first hand. We couldn't figure out the pancake machine and she noticed. Instead of telling us how to use it, she quickly covered something we uncovered almost before my wife let go of it. And she jumped right in front of me, almost bumping me. She didn't utter a word and walked away. +Wi-fi is pretty solid. -Lighting sucks. Everything is LED light bulbs and there is no main source of lighting to light the entire room. Everything is in corners. +Convenient location -Smoking isn't enforced. Place reeked the whole time.
FIrst, you should know that this place is currently under construction and the north side is having balconies built. Management didn't mention a word and because of the construction, our window was covered for most of the day, every day. Management never bothered to let us know and never bothered to call us after the crew was done for the day to remove our cover. The first day our window was covered, my wife and I were in the room for several hours after the crew was done for the day. Without calling or notifying, they sent maintenance up to take it down. He kinda knocked and sounded like he came in even though our "Do Not Disturb" sign was up. We kindly let him know we were showering and we didn't really know why he was even there. Just before bed, I had to go down to the desk and request that board to be removed, because our room was still the only room being covered. They quickly dodged the mild complaint by stating "we tried calling and sent maintenance". They never called us and maintenance never let us know why he was there. Wasn't maintenance's fault, though. I'm figuring they lied to him too.
So you can throw "friendly and professional" (from their site) out the window. They did this every day for the whole trip. I had to continuously request the board taken down, even though everyone else had theirs removed. THe lot was empty so I don't know if they had an issue with us (we were pretty friendly until the last day) or what. On our last full day, it kind of sucked we had to relax at a Starbucks due to the construction noise. Mainly, it was the window being covered though and had no sunlight.
Why would management be aware of what we would experience and not tell us, and then be aware of our personal experience and...
Read moreI had an exceptional stay at Aiden at Sedona. The location is absolutely perfect—close to everything you want to see in Sedona. Many of the rooms offer stunning views of the red rock mountains right across the street, making for a truly picturesque experience.
One of the standout aspects of my stay was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. From the moment I checked in, everyone I encountered was welcoming and eager to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. All of the staff like Robin and Micah, went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. Whether it was providing local recommendations, ensuring my room was spotless, or just greeting me with a smile every time I walked by, they made me feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality added a special touch to the experience.
As someone who usually enjoys trying different hotels, I can confidently say that Aiden at Sedona has won me over. After staying at five different hotels in the Sedona area, I’m now planning my third trip back to Aiden. That alone says everything about the quality of this place and the consistency of their service.
My favorite part was being able to relax in bed while watching the sunset cast a beautiful glow over the red rocks, all while enjoying the live music from the on-site restaurant. It was an unforgettable experience that perfectly captured the magic of Sedona. The hotel also provides charging stations, which was incredibly convenient, especially for those traveling with electric vehicles.
The breakfast exceeded my expectations, especially for the price. I highly recommend trying the pastries—they are some of the best I’ve ever had, particularly from a Best Western property. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into every detail, including the breakfast offerings.
In terms of value, Aiden at Sedona is hard to beat, especially in such a sought-after destination. If you’re a Best Western member, you’ll find even greater value in the perks they offer. Overall, Aiden at Sedona delivers a fantastic combination of comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality, making it a top choice for anyone visiting this...
