I would not recommend this resort! Although the place was very nice, the furnishings were extremely nice and well thought out the service in this resort was not what we expected. We upgraded our room to a suite with a king bed and semi private balcony we shared with our neighbor guest, how ever the staff left the door unlocked and when we stepped out to our private balcony and man dressed in only a robe strolled on out and made himself at home for over an hour! This is not what I paid for at all and should not have happened, we complained to the owner of the resort and she offered us nothing but a sorry about that approach. It was handled very unprofessionally at best, she should have at least offered to cover our breakfast which was another disaster in the making. First thing was the tea and coffee were free to guests but when you had this same tea you could get up and get yourself they had the audacity to charge you 3.50 per cup! If that was not a slap in the face the server was extremely SLOW! It took her 1 hour and 20 minutes to serve us breakfast! The second day was no better, one of the things on the menu that I wanted was not available! She should have said something when we sat down that this item was not available as the choices were small and I would up having the same dish I had the day before. Prices are extreme for breakfast, last one cost me 42.00 that as a little high for eggs and toast. Everything on the menu is ala cart and they charge even for a single piece of toast was 3.00! I will not that the chef was fantastic and the food was very good, pricing and service was a turn off. In the room itself was nice however no one showed us how to use the fire place, after figuring it out it did not work in our room when we needed it as it did get cold one night. When your paying what we paid per night you do expect everything to be perfect and it wasn't. I can't say I would recommend this place. Very disappointed in our stay and in the hotel owner for not making us feel wanted and listening to our complaint, she actually made us feel like she just didn't give a damn and tough luck for you type of attitude. There are much nicer places there to look at then Casa Sedona was...
Read moreThis seems to be a good hotel, if you get checked in.
As others have written, READ THE FINE PRINT before reserving a room. The policy here is clearly articulated. But it is harsh, and extremely unusual, considering any comparable lodging. As I'll discuss below, it is arguably not a fair policy.
I arrived in Arizona the evening on the day of my reservation to find out that Casa Sedona is not staffed after 8pm. And they have no lockbox system to distribute room keys without staff present. This is an outrageously poorly-designed system.
I was horrified to find out that I no longer had any lodging for the night. I was even more horrified that the manager (owner?) of Casa Sedona's position was that I wasn't even entitled to a partial refund. No, they would be keeping the full amount I paid, and effectively throwing me out on the street for the night.
Although Casa Sedona will doubtlessly respond that this policy is "written into their contract," so the burden "should be borne by the customer," who was "fully informed," it is arguable whether or not the contract/policy is fair. This policy is very different from any other I have ever seen, and any policy that common sense would anticipate. If I lived in the area, I would seek recovery. Fortunately for Casa Sedona, I do not live in the area. Kind of a neat tactic of theirs. Create a harsh policy that is levelled against unsuspecting tourists who assume this is a normal hotel and are then left without recourse when their money is lost.
It sure worked out for them, as they kept all of my money after providing no services, and handed off the clean, unused room to the next customer. What a deal! For them, at least.
Again, just because a policy can be written, does not mean that policy is fair, or that the policy will be found valid if challenged. Of course I don't know what would happen if it was challenged, but it seems...
Read moreWe stayed for 5 nights at Casa Sedona for our honeymoon - and we just have no words for how marvelous, memorable, and brilliant the place was! Everyone and everything were so wonderful and so very perfect, this was definitely one of the best stays we both ever had! It was peaceful, quaint, and therapeutic a space to be in - a wonderful escape! From the start, we had our flight cancelled so we had to be rebooked to a later flight (what a start to the honeymoon!) and were worried that we won't be able to make it in time before they closed check-in for the night, but the people were so kind and helpful, and even provided us with some information regarding the traffic once we arrived in Phoenix. Kristi welcomed us though it was after 9pm so warmly and showed us to our room - from the time we stepped into the Inn and our room (Dreamweaver) was so very beautiful! Great views, beautiful balcony, very comfortable bed, amenities were so amazing (robes, slippers) - and they even gifted us a box of chocolates!! We also really love being able to get water / tea / coffee anytime of the day (and so many options too!) plus COOKIES!!! We had brunch one of the days that we were there and it was perfectly portioned and very delicious; the hot tub and roof terrace (shared) were also amazing! We love the small touches in / around the place; they have a beautiful shared lobby for the wing we stayed on, and the Inn always smell SO GOOD which really made us feel so welcomed and everything was just so very convenient! Housekeeping always kept our rooms clean! All the staff were just very kind and this is definitely a place we'd love to return to - maybe to celebrate our anniversary? Hehe thank you Casa Sedona!!!
Sidenote: We gave a call to the inn before we booked to check which room would suit what we are looking for and they were very helpful, so just...
