We had a great time on the Sedona Vortex Jeep Tour! It was great to have a Jeep to ourselves and go at our own pace. Our guide, White Wolf, was quite a character and had tons of interesting information to tell us (vortexes, indigenous predictions, geology, UFOs, etc.) He pointed things out and told us stories the whole time we were driving around. We went up to a high plateau where a lot of other Jeeps were that had great views for photos. He got out a divining rod and showed us how the vortexes moved the rod. He also led us through a guided meditation session which was really cool. We booked the trip through Viator, and sometimes when you do that, it's confusing to know what you're actually getting. At the meeting spot, there were tons of different tour operators and the itinerary we went on ended up being totally different than what the ad said on Viator. The Viator ad said it would go to Sedona Creative LIfe Center, Airport Mesa, Chapel of the Holy Cross, Boynton Canyon Trail, and Cathedral Rock. Looking back on it now, that itinerary doesn't even make sense because you could never drive to all those places and stay for 20 minutes at each place but somehow fit the whole tour into 2 hours. We didn't go to any of those places, we just drove around and went to the one plateau. I guess I could have asked him at the beginning where we were going but I didn't think of doing that and just went with the flow. Also, a couple places he said we couldn't get out of the Jeep because they didn't have the right permits or something, so I felt like we were with some sort of sketchy company because it looked like other Jeeps had the correct permits. Just a bit odd. We didn't really see anything that we couldn't have seen driving around ourselves. But ultimately we were still pleased with the experience. The guide was enthusiastic and fascinating, it was nice to be driven around and fun to be in a bouncy, open-air Jeep, and the divining rod and meditation were special experiences. I would recommend this company, but just double check the details if you really want to see something specific. It might be a lot more straightforward to book with them directly instead of...
Read moreI think I had higher expectations of this experience than we received, but it was still beautiful and interesting. In all, I would not do it again, but I do not regret the trip we had. Our tour guide was Native American, and we chose the Vortex tour hoping to learn more about the energy and history around Sedona. I think he began with an expectation that we already had base knowledge about what a Vortex was and what their significance was. He just sort of pointed them out. Also, driving on the streets with nothing but a lap belt and open sides was sort of terrifying to me. More, probably, than it was to do the off-roading that was included with one leg of the tour. The last moments of the tour were probably the best, catching sunset on the top of a Vortex peak that was worth the climb. I wish they'd given more basic info to help us understand, and done less of the talking via shouting over the road winds. I think we missed some information. Also, other than the off-roading segment, nothing we saw was exclusive to this tour. Some of it we'd passed just exploring Sedona. There were some interesting tidbits of local legend information (IE Elvis and Walt Disney factoids) that were fun, though. I was leaning towards a 3 star, honestly, but it wasn't bad. It just wasn't as special as we...
Read moreWaste of $200. We went with these guys because they promised an “authentic experience, not like the corporate guys across the street.” We were sold that the 2.5 hour vortex tour had the best views of any tour in town, was informational, would take us to places that nobody else knows because you can’t access them and they’re not on any map, and “exclusive permits allow us to go to places that only us and Pink tours can go.” The tour took us to every tourist stop that 30 other visitors in their own cars went to. We didn’t go to see anything unique, never “had the place to ourselves”, and didn’t even go to see a vortex site on the vortex tour!!! Do not waste your money and see this scam. Super frustrated that we wasted our afternoon (and paid $85/person) driving to places we could have gone to in our own car with no real information to help us learn about vortices. ...
