A hidden GEM!! Hard to find a reason to give this place anything less than 5 stars. My husband and I love boutique hotels where there are no crowds at the pools, or for breakfast. We booked this because of the boutique style and the high amount of 5 star reviews. I was honestly not too excited about the style of rooms because we much prefer modern style decor but I couldn't overlook the high reviews this place has and the smaller hotel size. I think there are only 16 units here. It was always soo peaceful and quiet. Here's a quick overview. I'll start with the two minor cons...
Cons: Our bed wasn't very comfy. Mattress may have been a bit old (?) and there was a dip in the middle.
Though our room was super cool and everything was high quality, including the linens and even the hardwood floors and real wood doors, we didn't love how dark the room was. It didn't get much day light but that's okay because we spent most of the days out, doing hikes.
Pros: Everything!!! The welcome when we arrived made us feel like we'd just come home.
The breakfast was some of the best breakfast meals I've ever had, outside of our own home cooked British breakfasts! The presentation of the meals were lovely too.
The accomodations they made for my gluten intolerance was exceptional! No hotel has ever gone this over the top for my annoying intolerance lol
I'm a tea lover, and they had more than 5 different tea flavors in our room!
The fresh bread they bake in your room daily, is such a sweet, homey feature. And they made me a gluten-free bread loaf too.
The staff are all soooo kind and sweet and sooo accommodating.
The gardens and landscaping is gorgeous!
The room was very clean.
I love that they sell bath bombs for the big tubs in your room. I definitely took advantage of this and had an awesome bath!
When we checked in, we wanted to see if we could get a room with a better view/more light and a bed without a canopy and they were willing to accomodate this request for us. They showed us another room but we decided to stick to the one we originally were offered because it felt a bit more cozy.
The pool and hot tub is open 24/7. Finally a place that offers this!!! Though we didn't use either, I love that this was an option because most of the time we come back from our outings around 10pm, and that's when you want to use the hot tub.
The only thing I would change if we came back, is I'd ask for a second floor, slightly more modern room but everything else was absolutely top notch, best hospitality I've ever experienced at a hotel.
I also understand that this place is decorated to be like the old wild west which would suit some people's taste so this is probably a plus for many!
The level of service and care here is unmatchable. Highly recommend this...
Read moreThe hype is real! Stop thinking about booking a chain hotel and try this place first. The amenities alone justifies the cost. I haven’t even checked out yet and already writing this review. We stayed 3 days 2 nights Jan 5th - Jan 7th and received a winter discount. Sedona is great during this time due to very, very low crowds. A very sweet lady, Terry, checked us in and had our keys and paperwork ready for us to sign. The lobby closes at 7pm but is accessible with your room key. There are fresh baked cookies, water, coffee, tea and hot cocoa for guests to enjoy. The dining area is also located here and serves breakfast 7:30am-10am which is INCLUDED with your stay. If you don’t want to leave your room you can also request to have breakfast delivered to your room. And it’s a full breakfast not continental. They will also try to accommodate any special food requests. Terry walked us to our room and gave us a tour of the room. We stayed in the “White Dove” room and it was gorgeous, huge with high ceilings. They have other themed rooms and it took me so long to finally decide on this room but I’m glad I did. There was a fresh baked bread loaf warming in the bread maker with butter and jelly in the fridge. I seriously ate 1/2 the loaf till I realized I was on a diet. All soft drinks, water and snacks are INCLUDED and replenished every day, including the bread. I really love knowing I didn’t have to worry about bringing our own drinks. There’s also dishwashing liquid if you need to wash dishes but housekeeping will take care of washing the dishes if you leave it. The closet included bathrobes and shower slippers which was a nice touch. The bathroom was also gorgeous, from the vanity to the fireplace next to the jet streamed tub to the walk in shower to the detail on the door..just in awe! The next day we decided to go to Crescent Moon Park, which is a must do with easy trails and beautiful scenery, and when we returned to our room we were left with 2 wrapped presents in a reusable cotton bag. That was a surprise because we didn’t mention that we were celebrating an occasion. So sweet of them! If you choose to tip, there is a gratuity envelope located on the desk in your room. You would then drop off the envelope to the front office. I decided to leave a large tip once after checkout, instead of daily. Sedona is a gorgeous and calming place to visit and Adobe Grand Villas encapsulates the serene atmosphere. The service was great, the employees were so personable and really made us feel welcomed. We can’t wait to come back again! Thank you Adobe Grand Villas for a...
Read moreWe did not think the rooms were worth the money charged. I paid almost $3k for 4 nights and the level of service and amenities did not quite meet up to those cost level. Pros: the rooms were very nice and spacious The housekeeping was great Location was good Lots of good stocked snacks Cons: no view -anywhere that I could see. We were on the ground floor so we had very nice little sitting areas. That certainly was not pointed out during booking. Internet was not working for first 2 and half days when we were there. I called on our first night there -really just to let them know so they could reboot the system or call a tech. But instead I got questioned about why I need internet and “maybe I should do something else!” Next night I got back into the room It was still not working so I called again. The office told me “you should have told the morning crew. I can’t do anything about now!” I told her I thought she should call the morning crew herself. I called again in the morning because obviously that is what I was told to do and I was told in a very sarcastic tone “yes mam we know your internet is out -everyone knows your internet is out!” Again I was questioned what I needed it for….I shouldn’t have to explain why I need internet (fyi cell service was not good either) I was told Sedona just has terrible internet-especially when it rains-at this point there had not been a cloud in the sky for over 48 hours. They did finally get someone to fix it the third day we were there and it worked great. (I did have to explain to the front desk about speed tests and connectivity) Out gourmet breakfast was not gourmet and I do not believe it was fixed by a chef. It was all microwaved except for the “pastry” a hard little muffin that was as cold as if it had been in a freezer. We did not try the breakfast again after that. The lady that checked us in I am assuming was new. She didn’t even tell us about the bread -we found it accidentally and it was cold. We checked in at 6:30 so I don’t feel like it was too late. It was kind of like we checked in at midnight I think the “spa” is a stretch. They have a building with a masseuse in it. There really is no spa. It is one room you go to to get a message. It was a very good massage however. Just no ambiance. So overall Adobe grand villas has some good qualities but I do think they need to work on the above issues….or lower their prices...
