My husband and I visited Sedona to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I chose to stay at The Inn at Thunder Mountain primarily because the room came with a private hot tub! I also have celiac disease, so staying somewhere where I can safely eat was the other top priority. The Inn showed an incredible attention to detail. Our experience was top-notch!
Before making the reservation, I called and talked to an inn keeper about the feasibility of my eating safely. During the reservation process, I notified them of my dietary need. (For other celiacs: it is a shared kitchen, so cross-contamination is always possible - however, they do have dedicated utensils and pan and Robert, the chef, was always conscientious and careful and I was able to eat safely without getting sick!)
My husband and I stayed in the Ghost Rider room. The room was clean, comfortable, and offered privacy. It was on the second story and it had a 2 shower-head shower, a private balcony, and a private hot tub. It was equipped with a small fridge, microwave, Keurig, water kettle, ice bucket, wine opener, wine glasses, and a small table set with dishes, silverware, mugs, and napkins. There was complimentary bottled water, cans of soda, butter, little half n half cups, and jam in the fridge. There was also a selection of complimentary snacks available including peanut butter, tea, Keurig cups, sugars, and microwave popcorn in the room.
There is a bread machine for each room. Upon arrival, there was bread already made in the bread machine along with a cutting board, knife, and baggie for storage. They have a dedicated celiac/gluten-free bread machine available! This was incredible for me! Also, you may request a refill of bread machine ingredients when the housekeeper comes in to clean, so the bread is fresh and done cooking when you get back to your room.
The included breakfast was a pleasant surprise in both the quality and quantity of food. Everything we ate was so delicious and beautifully presented. You can even request to have breakfast delivered to your room! At the end of the meal, Robert would bring us a small dish of fruit that we could take to our room to enjoy later.
Because of the fresh bread and fruit, along with minimal groceries from the nearby store, we were able to enjoy late lunches after mornings of fabulous hiking. We loved our Sedona lifestyle!
The hotel is located west Sedona and we found we only had a very short drive to restaurants, shopping, and trailheads. The Inn keeper Michelle, and Robert the chef, were the staff we primarily interacted with. They were both kind, friendly, knowledgeable, gave helpful recommendations, and made sure we were taken care of. Thank you for our...
Read moreWe enjoyed our 4-night stay in the Sacred Feather room very much. Zak, the Innkeeper, was welcoming and excelled at making us feel comfortable and special. He greeted us with warmth, gave us a thorough tour of the property, our room, and detailed info about how everything worked in our suite. That + cookies and bottled water :-)
Another shout out to Robert, their breakfast chef. He provided delicious, hearty meals each morning in the cozy dining area, and packed us an amazing to-go breakfast (excellent fresh fruit & yogurt parfaits, bananas, snack bars, muffins) the one morning we left to hike prior to the kitchen opening. We also dubbed him the "Oracle of Arizona", for all his insights into hiking trails, topography, travel tips, smoke/fire conditions, and more.
The small property is very pretty. Lots of patio seating, a burbling fountain, and flowers galore during our stay. It's not a big luxury resort, but the Inn punches above its weight for coziness and cleanliness. That goes for inside the rooms too. Ours was spotless, attractive, and well designed. We also enjoyed having a private jacuzzi spa and shaded patio seating for sitting out at sunrise and sunset.
My only suggestion for the Inn is, install a screen door on the patio windows. Weather was perfect during our stay, and we despise hotel AC, but the open window allowed a variety of flying insects to visit.
We will undoubtedly re-book at the Inn whenever we return to Sedona. It's ideally situated, remarkably well maintained, private, quiet, cozy, and their staff...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely place! ✨ The most romantic and peaceful stay. Everything from the room, the atmosphere, and the location was just perfect. There were so many thoughtful, extra nice touches that made us feel like the staff went above and beyond. The bed was so comfy, the fresh made breakfast delivered to our room every morning was delicious and was such an amazing way to start the day. The hot bath at night by the fire in our room made for the most romantic evenings. The room had everything we needed as well. From wine glasses, wine openers, a table with dishes we could dine on in the evening as we got take out or had snacks. There were plenty of drinks, water, and snacks provided by the Inn as well that made our stay even more easeful and comfortable. And the location was just perfect. Being right by Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park and Thunder Mountain.. there were many beautiful places to explore walking distance away. We went for a nice run through the neighborhood and around Coffee Pot Rock one morning. That felt like such an excellent way to start the day. Coming back to a fresh made breakfast after that was so great! And the housekeeping staff was excellent as they provided the best service freshening up our room each day. We felt so comfortable here and we would 1000% recommended The Inn at Thunder Mountain to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing, romantic and convenient stay...
