I ordered my room through PRICELINE with my VIP option. The hotel booking was easy as can be. Then I received a text from Baymont to do an online check-in to make it easy when we arrived. After filling out the check-in with a 9:30 or 10 pm arrival time. It included my picture ID and explained a small temporary charge would be applied to my card. After hitting complete, the $80.16 was applied to my account. This was great as I've heard horror stories of tourists showing up to their hotel and having to pay a deposit of $250 for the stay. We chose this hotel for three reasons: Hot breakfast / free internet / book now and pay later.
We arrived at 10 pm and I went into the lobby. The small lobby was clean and I peaked into the breakfast area and it was nicely setup. However no one was on duty at the desk. Secondly the security room was open and also empty. I had to wait 10 min for assistance. Her name was Krystal. This is important to note because I'm unsure if all of the hotel staff treats guest the same. She is petite with braids and a seemingly friendly smile.
I let her know that I did a pre-check in and just needed my keys to the room. This is were it goes downhill. She tells me they are not connected to the official Baymont company but owned by an independent group. I looked on the wall and it was called Jalabapa.inc. Below it was another sign that says if we can't fix the issue we will do our best to fix or the room is free.
After the shock of that statement, she preceeded to ask for my credit card to hold for incedentals. I told her I filled that out already. I also told her my picture ID was online as well. Again she said their systems don't synch with Baymont and so she needed it again. I showed her the payment to Baymont for incidentals. She looked at the statement and with disdain said,"that says Baymont but not what it paid for so I need your credit card again." At this point I felt that the hotel was a scam and trying to steal my identity. I told her no, I wasn't giving her my information again and requested a manager. She promptly said, "The manager is unavailable on weekends and can't be called." Now I'm really concerned. She is running this large hotel, by herself, with no way to handle conflicts. She said if I don't comply she won't give me the keys.
I was LIVID. By this time more customers came into the room and I went to get my partner. She tried to calm me down and went to check on the issue. I called Baymont customer service (REF#08457364). I told them they couldn't call her because she now had 6 people in the lobby, the phone ringing, and another angry guest. The hostess looked like she was having a break down. In about 30 min my partner came back and with a smile had keys. Once we were in the room she confided that she put her card on file just to get the keys. NOW I'M PISSED but there was nothing I could do.
The carpet has just be cleaned and was still damp. The room was moderately clean with a few things that were not worth the hastle to go downstairs. The bed was comfy and it had 4 nice pillows. The blankets were fresh and smelled nice. In a few hours the carpet dried and we were able to relax.

Read moreMOLD!! MOLD!!! 🚫🚫🚫IWILL BE CALLING THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT LEFT A NIGHT EARLY REFUSING TO TAKE ACTION OR DO ANYTHING ABOUT RETURNING MY MONEY. SMELLED LIKE DEATH IN OR AROUND THE FRIG! 💀 4 out of 5 kids immdiately were asking to go to hospital for respiratory issues and my daughter caught worms after being in this location. I REFUSE TO BE QUIET!
I would like to rate this hotel an absolute zero, as you can see I was booked to stay until the fourth and checked out the third. After realizing that there was a smell like death, pee, beer all in one, around or behind under and above the whole vicinity of the refrigerator. I had called the front desk and voice my concern. I asked if there’s anyway we could be changed to a different room. They said they were all sold out for the night so then I decided to go ahead and take myself home since I couldn’t get a refund that evening and I didn’t have the option to stay at a different hotel. I am very disappointed because this was a trip my children and I took after losing my child’s father. I wanted it to really be a memorable one for other reasons, then a stinky refrigerator, which we had fun at the water park but as soon as we got back, that’s when I noticed the smell, I didn’t really notice at the first night because I didn’t go near the refrigerator. Also there was one washcloth in the room when we entered and about three or four hand towels in place of wash cloths, so I made it work then when I went to get the continental breakfast, it was almost like, you were entering someone’s family kitchen for breakfast a bunch of the coworkers family may be living there because they were all congregated in the dining area. I almost felt as if I was interrupting their breakfast. I’ve reached out multiple times and was told there’s a note on the managers desk about getting my money back for the night. I didn’t stay and still no return call or money so my next step is to leave a Google review and possibly call the health department on the establishment, all I wanted was my money back and I was going to let it go, but with having an unresolved matter like this, I can’t just let it go because the very next day I had to take four out of five children to the emergency room with respiratory type infections one with worms. They were all completely healthy when we left. This hotel is a HEALTH HAZARD And all I want to SAY once again was I WANT my money back and I couldn’t even get that and I didn’t even stay there the second night and I keep reading horrible reviews so learned two lesssons READ REVIEWS AND NEVER EVRR IS HISTORY OF MAN STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT A NICE EXPERIENCE
Oh ya and when you take your preteen daughters to the pool the regulars appear out of no where and stare at them pretty sure I seen a few drug dealers trolling the balcony’s too. Not a good place besides the pool. I would have rather...
Read moreI'm gonna start with saying, we chise this hotel because of them haveing a washer/dryer, and a lift chair for handicapped people to get in and out of the pool. On arrival we found that the lift chair was not hooked up. When asking the lady at the front desk, she told us it was battery operated, and someone took it to be charged. She said she didn't know where it was at. We did manage to get my mother in-law in and out of the pool one day. The next day she had to stay in the hotel room, because she wasn't able to walk. The washer and dryer did not work, it took our money. When making the front desk aware of this, the lady told us there wasn't anything she could do for us. We ended up taking our laundry to a laundry mat, and paying more than we would have at the hotel. The ice machine on our floor only worked half the time, and when it did, it only gave you minamal ice. We had three rooms, out of those three room two had issues with the bathtub faucets. One room was either a hot water or cold, no in between. The faucet in another room came off everytime we would turn the water on. There was a total of 15 people between the three rooms, and we was luck to have 3 towels and wash clothes in eacg room. When we asked for more, we was told the hotel was completely full so we would have to wait. There was trash under the beds when we arived. Just about everytime we asked for trash bags for our rooms, we was told they was out. During our stay there was a water problem in. The front desk told no one about this problem. We only found out because other guests got a notification on their phones. This ment we went half a day without water. When asking the front desk who we could contact, and ask when/if the water would be back on the lady response was "I'm not from around here so I don't know". We ended up calling another hotel, and was told it was due to fluding the week before. We was also told by the other hotel that there would a boil order once the water came back on. The lady at the front desk wasn't telling anyone who checked in about the water situation. The phone in one of our rooms was not plugged in. When I tried plugging it in, I found that I couldn't because the phone jack was ripped out the wall. On our last night someone popped in the pool. This was immediately reported to the front desk. Again the lady did notging about it. She wouldn't even get it out the pool. A guest at the hotel got it out. The pool was never cleaned properly, or closed. And guess what, yep you gussed the front desk didn't tell anyone who was checking in about the poop in the pool. This hotel needs closed and reported to the health department. I give this...
