Best prices in town, decent rooms, nice pool. Close to everything but not in the middle of the chaos. Problem is they discriminated against the local people that are still displaced after the wildfires. They are not the only hotel like this. The poor locals are shunned in our community, making an average of $9/hr for a cook to $2.13/hr for servers who claim their tips & they're taken back out of hourly rate paycheck. Their are bad apples everywhere but All of us pay. We always gathered up the towels and wash clothes in a bundle left on the sink, we took out our own garbage. My wife was leaving for work when a Muslim women came out of one of the rooms yelling at her. My wife didn't know who this woman was screaming@ her so she was crass back to her. Apparently she is the owners wife, their family lives in the hotel. She cancelled the rest of our reservation again (this makes twice) saying because my wife argued with her the last time we stayed there. She never identified herself before coming out of one of the rooms, not from the office and she was yelling at my wife and shouldn't have been yelling to begin with cause my wife was only walking through the parking lot. Anyway, I have wrote about this when it happened a month ago. I was sent an Email saying they apologise for the incident and fired the woman. So, we booked with them again figuring we could now enjoy our stay. We were there for 3 days & were going to extend for 1 more day when all of a sudden, here's the same woman and she again cancelled our reservation again, then told us to leave & not come back. This place is run by discriminating liers, that fired an innocent older White woman who worked the desk at night. I heard they even put up a sign on the front door which I will take a picture of and share if it's true. This may have something to do with me telling them that the air conditioner filters were nasty & the unit was leaking in the room. If you care about the working class poor in Sevier County, please call the hotel you plan to stay at & ask if they rent to locals & you're going to pay with cash and see what they say before booking. We would appreciate your support. Here's a couple...
Read moreStayed here for the weekend while going on vacation. We checked in after a five hour drive and unloaded our things.
There was a very distinct odor upon entering the room. I assume it was a pesticide and told myself I should be reassured that I wouldn't see any bugs. That was not the case. There was a cockroach that crawled on top of dresser.
At that time I wonder just how bad the place is and started to look around. I found multiple dead bugs (not all roaches) in the corners of the room and drawers. Our bathroom light didn't work, the back door to the patio couldn't be unlocked, the sink was clogged, and I found a pair of someone's jeans in the dresser.
Went to the front desk to let them know that it wasn't acceptable and they made excuses saying: "we have someone spray the rooms every month" and "we don't usually have an issue with our housekeeping." This was frustrating because we had two other couples with us and neither of their rooms had the smell ours did (they even had smoking rooms). Being told that it was just THAT room we decided to try another room. It was getting late, we didn't want to pack up our stuff, and book another hotel last minute away from our group.
Now, room number 2. It appeared cleaner and had less issues. The headboard over one of the beds was broken and the lampshade took a few good falls. At least someone had a decent stay there before us. The bathroom light globe was broken and the vent made a horrendous noise. I can deal with that.
After a day of enjoying ourselves and juggling some souvenirs... our room key didn't work. I had to go down to the front office AGAIN to get our key card to work. I had to wait for 10 minutes before anyone came to the desk. Even though both of the other rooms had no issues I was told: "there must have been a power outage. I've had about 5 other people come down needed their card fixed." So you may or may not get into your room.
While it cheap, and in a good location; personally, I'd rather pay a little more for a room of much better quality. The best thing about the room was the back patio view... but the front door on my way out, topped that...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would . My husband and I stopped here during our trip back home to get some rest. We seen it was a pet friendly hotel and even though it only had 3.9 stars we figured it was because of the pet issues in the room or something. We checked in and told the guy that we had two German shepherds. They even make you fill out a sheet acknowledging the pet policies and make you fill out how many dogs and what breed they are on that sheet. It was 15$ per pet. Well we paid and everything was great until we were rudely interrupted in our sleep by someone banging on the door. My husband opened the door and I assume it was a housekeeper and she yelled "15 dollars" to which my husband responded "for what?" And she said "because you lied you have two dogs" and then my husband said "okay give me a minute" he then closed the door to our pants and a shirt on and the lady began beating on the door again not giving him any time to put his clothes on. So at this time we are furious because we were peacefully sleeping, we have a very rude housekeeper banging on our door and calling us a liar and we still have a 9 hour trip to go. So my husband goes down to the office with the housekeeper to figure out what's going on. The housekeeper says we only paid for one dog and my husband told the front desk lady to pull up the acknowledgement sheet to prove that we did in fact put down two dogs. She pulled it out and seen it and then said "sorry I guess he only charged you for one. While at first I didn't mind paying 15$ per pet now I do because of the ignorant and rude housekeeper. She could have knocked not banged on the door and said "hi sorry it turns out you only paid for one dog last night could you come down and pay for the other" and we would have happily obliged but now here i am writing this review to make sure no one has to deal with this disrespect. Please choose somewhere else to stay. There is plenty of places in...
