I know things happen and people are human, so I don't post for every bad experience. But when a problem is handled poorly, that's when I Do. Checked in and was put into a used room. The door was cracked open when I went up and the room was dirty. Unsure if someone was in there or not. Front desk lady put me in another room without a problem. She handled it as well as she could have and then got me set up in another room. Room was clean and the view was nice. No issues there. I woke up at 1230 am to a loud bang/pop noise. There would be two of them back to back each time. Like one door was shutting and another was open. It went on til 345 so I decided to just check out.
I told the man up front I was checking and told him, "I don't know if it's you or what's going on. But there's been a loud noise for hours. And you may not even realize you're making a noise. But IF it is you going in and out of that back door, if you could just be mindful of guests." As soon as I started talking, he got a scowl on his face and stood up straighter all defensive like. I kept telling him it might not be him, but if he could at least try to see what the noise is for the sake of guests I even told him I didn't want a refund. I just wanted him to know and for other guests to not be kept up was all. A simple "I'm sorry about that. I'll listen for a noise" would have sufficed. I didn't want money back or a free stay. Instead, he argued with me for 4.5 minutes and kept interrupting me and asking me to prove there had been a noise. There is a door out out the back office that leads to another employee door and would have explained the two bang noises back to back. He claimed the door made no noise. He kept moving the FRONT door saying "see, no noise." The front door is glass and closes slow. The back door is heavy and wood. Again, that may not have been it, which is why I kept asking him to just listen out for a noise in case it's a loud guest. He said someone called about a noise 10 minutes prior and so it made NO sense that I heard noises since 1230 and kept asking me to prove there had been noise.
He interrupted the whole time. For the first time in my life, I recorded the the WHOLE interaction start to finish. I also recorded my whole room so he can't claim damage. I travel a lot. And this is has been the first time I've had an issue with service. I've had a LOT go wrong with stays and never seek refunds, and it's always handled professionally. I'm APALLED I don't want this man losing his job but I DO hope his attitude and customer service handling issues are addressed. If management would like to contact me, I will gladly hand over...
Read moreWell if it weren't for the two roaches on different days this would be an easy four star for me due to the value. The other negatives: Upon arrival the balcony table hadn't been cleaned. It had a cigarette butt on it and the table was nasty before I cleaned it off...I guess it's just stupid me but I couldn't figure out how to operate the shower...there were a bunch of really drunk and really, really loud guys in the pool one day for about an hour around noon!!!...the motel is on a very busy four lane highway with some noise which didn't bother me much...the tv was small as one would expect...and there was no chest of drawers or any drawers for that matter.||||There are some really good positives as well as follows: the location in the heart of Sevierville minutes away from tons of activities was great...the inside of the room was clean and didn't have a bad odor...the small frig with freezer worked perfectly...an apparent remodel said goodby to carpet and hello to wood type floors with some tile thrown in...the ac worked fine...there was really good coffee in my room and in the office @ morning time...the desk clerks were cordial...the pool was really nice for a budget motel...IMHO the motel is an amazing value minus the roaches...and best of all --- THE DUCKS and the beautiful setting from my balcony. at times I had 50 ducks fairly close to me and there were usually at least some around --- and they aren't shy especially if you have bread or some other food for them...the view of the river is truly breathtaking with a really nice waling trail across the way.||||Despite the roaches I may stay again due to the great price and the amazing view out back with the friendly ducks. Heck just bring a tent and camp outside of your room next to the river!!! There is lots to love here and a few things that aren't good at all. BTW if you want to be up close to the ducks and the lawn between the motel and the river request a bottom floor room. The upper floor probably has a little...
Read moreThis is my first time ever to Gatlinburg area. Just gotten engaged yesterday and upon making it here the bottom fell out . Randy was excellent the young man that worked second shift, Rondell his relief wasn't period. Exclamations point! I traveled six plus hours to get here. Upon arriving four miles down the road Rondell attempted to run my card. My card was locked 🔒. I received an alert 🚨 and then Rondel calls. Now mind you I'm driving and Rondell hadn't even made it to the hotel he s in his car. I was made aware that this isn't the first time Rondell has messed things up concerning guests. He walk s in the property and to my face called me rude when I specifically mentioned to him five times while I was driving to run my card. Upon second attempt apparently it didn't go through because between me unlocking it and him running it it wasn't sequestered properly because I came to the hotel used the same card and guess what I got my room why because my card did work. Rondel then proceeded to tell me that what the policy says but what he doesn't fell to mention is you contact the guest earlier throughout the day had he had done that as I was traveling I d unlocked my card. Apparently I was coming I had left a note saying originally I wasn't coming till five am but I left work early just to get here. Mind you I went back down to the office because as a Corporate Management and Majority Partial Ownership of my own property and as an Apostle / Senior Pastor I wanted to ensure that Rondell didn't have a bad shift because of my check in process that went to he'll Rondel was very bilegent and stubborn and the more I attempted to get him to see what actually happened and he was admit and very aggressive and ugly tone towards me. I was looking forward to staying another day on Fri but I d rather stay somewhere else than to deal with his unprofessional behavior ( Rondell) Again Randy was an angel the second shift...
