I came here for the first time today…seen some good deals that you can download with the app. I got the app, got a couple of overpriced items for my kids, and went to check out. I walked around the store for 10-15 minutes just trying to pay and leave. There are no clear indicators of where you check out at. I found 2 employees and a manager. One employee was getting someone to sign up for a credit card so she told me she would be awhile I may want to check out at the cosmetics counter. The manager was just chatting it up w/ someone and ignored my existence even though it was clear I was trying to check out. No one @ the second counter they sent me too. I found a lady at the fragrance counter who was just helping someone TEST fragrances… I asked for her help. She wouldn’t check me out she sent me to another empty counter. I had to go back to find the manager who had already ignored me and ask him for help so I could pay and leave and he sent me back to the fragrance lady who wouldn’t help me the first time. But when the manager asked her? She then checked me out. Why couldn’t she just do that the first time? The entire point of a store is for customers to spend money. I feel like the few employees were so focused on the ppl that MIGHT spend money they completely disregarded the person that was actually gonna spend the money and go. I guess because I wasn’t a rich old white lady or getting a credit card I didn’t matter. I’ll...
Read moreThis Belk has went down over the years. It’s always very messy (which I get people make the mess, and it’s hard to keep things nice and tidy) but the mess in this store is a bit crazy. My last visit in there I had an issue with a cashier, an older lady, she asked if I wanted to apply for a Belk credit card, I declined. I don’t want to waste my time with that. I had a coupon on my phone from Retail Me Not, and the women REFUSED to scan it unless I applied for a Belk credit card. She said I couldn’t use the coupon until I did. No where on this coupon did it say anything about having to have the Belk credit card to use that. She forced me to pay full price for what I was getting. After the transaction she could tell how much she angered me and then offered to return my purchase and re ring it up to see if my coupon would take, but I was done with her, she was rude and shouldn’t have acted the way she did. I went to the make up dept and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was very apologetic, and refunded the purchase and then seen if my coupon would take, and guess what, it did! You don’t refuse to do that stuff! Just scan it and see if it works, if not, no big deal, but being rude and refusing it in the first place is terrible...
Read moreWalking into this particular Belk in 2025 feels like stepping into a time capsule—unfortunately, not in a good way. The store is packed with rows and rows of clothes, but almost none of them are what people are actually wearing today. Styles feel dated, quality is disappointing, and most items are cheaply made with poor fits.
Only place that you could find a check out was the make up department and while the ladies that are nice, they are very pushy trying to sell you make up when all you’re trying to do is check out. If you are a male who doesn’t even wear make up, they will try to sell you body lotion. Seems very desperate, almost like they’re begging to get rid of their “free gifts” with purchase. Their pricing strategy is to mark a $20 shirt up to $60, slap on a “50% off” sign so you overpay for a “sale” item. I’m surprised they’re still open because they don’t have anything worth buying and their prices are ridiculous. I also agree with some of the other reviews. It’s very hot in the store and the bathroom is not handicap accessible.. if I could give the store zero...
