This is a very nice place. They clearly spent a decent amount of money with laminate/vinyl floors that looked like hardwood, crown molding and a very pleasing color palate (gray and white). The kitchen is decent, nice fridge, dishwasher, stove, farmhouse sink (although for some reason no garbage disposal) etc.. It was baffling to me that they didn't even provide us as guests a sponge to wash out dishes, instead asking us to use the dishwasher two or three times in a 7 day stay. Crazy. We almost went out and bought one, but never got around to it. I wish I had asked the front desk why this was omitted, but we had other issues with road noise and this was just not the thing that was top of mind.
We had asked repeatedly before arriving for a quiet unit. They told us they couldn't promise, but even 3 days before the unit we were told we'd have was on the quiet side of the property. But when we got there, we were put into a 2nd floor (really the first, since the main floor is the restaurant) and told that it was not quiet, and they were full so there wasn't much they could do. Which wasn't true, as we ran into another couple who complained more than we did, and were moved. We probably slept decently 3 nights out of 7, and instead used mid day naps to supplement being woken at 3,4 or 5 pm by loud cars and motorcycles outside our window.
If we had been on the back side, I'd have given this place 3 or 4 stars. But even being as polite as could be, they just refused to move us. The owners offered some sort of modest compromise (but no actual money refunded) that we will likely never use.
Seveirville is a nice town with great access to hiking and running trails. I am very glad we stayed away from the tackier parts of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, so for that I am grateful to the New Hotel Collection and Arcadia for providing us with an option. Now if I ever catch up on the sleep I missed out on, I'd feel better about the...
Read moreI called directly to the hotel to book the reservation. Zachary was so pleasant and helpful on the phone. He did inform me there was some construction so I was not surprised when I arrived. We drove from Florida and arrived early. We were able to check in early (luckily). Zachary was able to accommodate the special requests I made for the reservation (health issue related). The room was immaculate. I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Everything I needed in the kitchen was there. There is an ice maker and filter on the freezer. There are memory foam beds which was a wonderful plus (I have a Temperpedic at home and when I stay away, have issues with uncomfortable beds). Lots of closet space. This is ideal for an extended stay. Zachary was very helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Erica was great as well. There is no 24 hour person in the lobby, but there is a phone number in case you need anything. The shower head is in the middle of the shower which is great, but if you don't want to get your hair wet, bring a shower cap. There is a wonderful coffee shop attached to the hotel. Honey Bee coffee. They roast their own coffee. There is a coffee maker in the room, a toaster, dishwasher, garbage compactor, oven, microwave and full size fridge/freezer.The hotel is on a main road in Seveirville, so it is walking distance from many conveniences. There is a farmers market on Friday and one on Saturday within walking distance (seasonal). The view was great, city and mountains, the Dolly statue is a block away, it is close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, so you can enjoy the hustle and bustle but don't have to be in the center of it all the whole time. Very close to the National Park as well. The overall experience, cleanliness, value, and customer service...
Read moreI've stayed here several times and this is not your typical hotel, more of a rented high end condominium with all the amenities of a fully furnished living space. Building is very secure as you need a code just to enter and then of course your key card for your unit. If you get a unit that says 2 double beds in one of the rooms there is no furniture or TV in that room which is disappointing. For such a high end hotel the TV's are also a disappointment since nowadays in most hotels you can find at least 42inch TV's and upwards of 50inch...these are 32inch even in the master bedroom and main living room which having so much space and size take away from TV entertainment. My biggest complaint for this particular stay was checking in for a 4 nights only to find the master bedroom TV was broken upon arrival. I notified the hotel and never heard back from them. I had to call after 2 nights only to be more disappointed when they informed me the TV was being ordered and would not be in during my stay, however this same 32inch TCL was just down the street at the local Walmart for $100. When you advertise a TV in each room and spend the much higher cost to stay here that's not something to take lightly. People vacation out during the day and want to enjoy TV in bed during the evenings. I didn't even get offered to have any of the large amount of Choice Privileges points returned I had accumulated and used for this stay as a Diamond Elite Choice Member. Other than that this is a one of...
