First let me start off by saying our experience was nothing short of phenomenal! My husband and I came in relatively early (8:00am) on a Friday, no wait and we were sat immediately. The host was smiley and super kind from start till we left! I unfortunately don’t remember our servers name but he was phenomenal, super kind and knowledgeable about the menu especially when we had questions, even when we didn’t have questions he was quick to tell us what everyone’s favourite dish was and which were the most popular. I will say we were super excited to try this place from the beginning and we ordered a huge breakfast (nothing went untouched). We started with the pimento cheese biscuits and the fried devilled egg appetiser. I was expecting the biscuits to be fluffier HOWEVER they were the star of our starters. They were still super good never mind my expectations! The red pepper jam definitely tied it all together! The devilled eggs were different and unexpected, I would recommend those closer to lunch, I personally wouldn’t get them first thing in the morning but they are good in their own way! My husband got 2 entrees, The southern fried skillet and Huevos rancheros and I got the Joy street BBQ grilled cheese with pimento cheese grits as a side and the velvet elvis pancakes. He loved both of his meals not one bad thing to say , he favored the Huevos rancheros though! My grilled cheese was REALLY GOOD, my husband loved it as well and it paired perfectly with the side of pimento cheese grits. Seriously so good. To end with the velvet elvis pancakes (red velvet pancakes with peanut butter mousse in between 2 pancakes with drizzled banana pudding crème over top) honestly the perfect way to end that huge meal it was sooo good definitely one of my favourite breakfast places now. (we didn’t finish anything other than the biscuits at the start) but we had to take it home to eat later of course. We will definitely be back to try different things because everything...
Read moreI was very excited to try out this place, especially after looking at the menu online. The food all sounds so incredible and tasty. Walking in, we were met with very friendly staff who seated us immediately. The service was incredible and the restaurant itself is lovely. The only issues really came from the food.
As an avid lover of eggs benedict, I ordered the ham benny with potatoes. When it came out, the first thing I noticed was the plate looked half empty which is incredibly off-putting. The portion sizes were reasonable, but the plates they were using were just too big. The second thing was that they didn't poach their eggs correctly, as the whites were all stringy. I'm thinking maybe they poached them at too high of a temperature and maybe without vinegar as the eggs themselves were incredibly bland. Third thing I noticed was that I barely had any hollandaise sauce on mine while my sister, who ordered the same thing, got a lot more. The English muffin was soggy and overall it was pretty bland.
My sister-in-law order the chicken & waffle, and it was actually incredible. Very flavorful, everyone tried it and loved it. We also had the cheese blintz and all enjoyed it. It was very simple but it was good!
Overall, it was a good experience. Again, their staff is very friendly and helpful. The food isn't very expensive, so it wasn't the biggest deal, but they still have work to do on their food and their presentation. Being able to poach their eggs correctly is especially important because they have 3 different benedicts on their menu. That being said, they're a very new restaurant and I'm certain they'll...
Read moreToday was our first visit here. Our server James was outstanding. Very polite and friendly. Took great care of us. We started with goat cheese and peach biscuit appetizer. Very delicious, soft biscuits. Loved the strawberry jalapeno sauce. My chicken and waffle was pretty good. The chicken looked over cooked but it tasted good. I paid 3.99 for a helping of hash-brown casserole and it was not good at all. Neither of us thought so. It was really dark. I first thought it was dirty rice. It really didn't taste like potatoes and it hard to even tell if it was potatoes. It tasted really bad. We couldn't eat it. I notice in other reviews my hash-brown casserole did not look like others? Husband had the smoked salmon Benny. He thought was Very good. What I absolutely did not like were the bathrooms. 2 bathrooms that are both men/ ladies bathrooms. No woman wants to sit on a toilet a man has stood over and peed/dribbled all over it. While one bathroom was locked this morning, I turned the handle to the second and walked in, to find a man holding his private part swaying back and forth leaning over the toilet.. he had not locked the door. Parking was hard to get. Circled block 3 times before finding an open spot. Please make bathrooms 1 for men and 1 for...
