I’m writing this review separately form the one for the restaurant. The difference is night and day. The motel is exactly that. It’s not a hotel. Amenities are few. The rooms are old. Built in the 80’s we were told. The place was built out of love by a man for his wife “Becky” who wanted a log cabin. It has a rustic charm and a beautiful story. but could use some repairs and updates. Our room had a king bed and a dinette. Definitely not a five star hotel. But, My Wife and I went there for a romantic weekend getaway. The weekend wasn’t all about the hotel It was about us. And Becky’s was great for that. For $75 a night on the weekend and the country decor we were more than willing to overlook some cracked caulking and faded paint. Combined with the restaurant, a review I will write separately, This place has potential to be a tourist attraction. With some major renovations and additions of course. We really hope that happens and it doesn’t end up another subdivision. So, if you’re looking for a inexpensive place to spend the night or a romantic weekend with your spouse. Please try Becky’s.

Really cute and rustic on the outside. Beautiful setting but that’s where the charm stops! The clerk was fantastic and check in was a breeze. I wish I would have asked to see a room 1st BECAUSE I WOULD NOT have checked in. I called my daughter and told her I checked into the Bates Motel. The smell of the room as soon as I opened the door was overwhelmingly musty. The rug on the floor is so incredibly grimy and disgusting (only words I have to describe it), there is a steady stream drip coming from the bathtub, mildew on the AC vents and the fire alarm is hanging out of the ceiling NOT functional. Those are the MAJOR issues. Minor complaints is that the furniture is very dated and not set up to be aesthetically appealing. That is minor tho. I will say that the bed looks incredibly uncomfortable but it is very comfortable.

This place has gone downhill like a snowball on the way to Hell. The restaurant is closed although nothing online states this. The room I was in had a bullet hole in the window, there was dried blood on the box springs of one bed and a poorly cleaned blood trail from that bed to the bathroom. They won't give you a refund 15 minutes after you check in. Just enough time to get in your room and realize that you made a bad mistake. The drug activity was terrible. Cars in and out all night. A Smithfield LEO told me that they get calls there all the time. This is not the nice hideaway spot that it use to be. You've been warned. Don't fined out the hard way like I did.

TLDR; AVOID AT ALL COSTS If I could rate zero I would. Stayed at least 10 times between April-June 2021. Any review saying how nice it is was probably written by someone who works there. Tried giving it a chance because it's $20 cheaper than any place else, but take my advice and spend the extra $20 at Sleep Inn. I did, and I'll never go back. Every time I've stayed, the rooms have been filthy and not vacuumed. The sheets have had yellow stains and what looks to be bed bug stains. The first time I stayed, I had to move rooms because the sheet had a huge yellow looking pee stain on it. Room 57's window sills are filled with dead bugs. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear other conversations clearly. I woke up one morning around 4:30 a.m. and the people next to me were arguing. I could not go back to sleep. Some rooms don't have T.V. remotes, and there's no WiFi. Room 58 has nasty looking yellow/orange grime caked on the wall next to the sink. Tried to wipe it off myself, but it's been there for so long that it's not coming off. The towels smell awful. Honestly, it's one of the worst places I've ever been. Last time I stayed, I was so disappointed I left and...

Our waitress was the sweetest polite waitress I ve ever met she called our 2 year old daughter by name even helped her into to her booster seat she played and spoke to my daughter so nicely she was over all amazing the owner (I believe) came out and had a whole conversation with us and carried on a conversation with our daughter about Mickey and Minnie Mouse (our daughters favorite) and the cook even came out of the kitchen not once but 3 times to check on us and make sure all 3 of us were enjoying our dinner I have been in NC 4 years and this has by far been the best service I’ve ever seen the steaks were the best steaks I have ever in my life eaten!! On a scale 1-10 Becky’s Restaurant deserves a 100!! I will for sure be recommending them to everyone I know!! Thank you so very much for such an amazing...
