We stayed at the Heavenly Valley Lodge for two nights and were extremely impressed. This was for a couple's getaway to Lake Tahoe and a break from the kids. The customer service from Linda and Johan was above and beyond what we could have imagined when booking our reservation. It felt like we were neighbors with the personal interactions with them; very friendly and caring. The personal touch really makes this bed and breakfast stand out, and feels very genuine. Breakfast was phenomenal. Linda will cook something different every morning to spoil your taste buds, and also provide fresh fruit, pastries, and coffee. The room had a very cozy feel to it, like a cabin with the amenities you appreciate after a day out at the lake (shower with great water pressure, comfy bed, kitchenette, etc). The location is perfect. You are within 7/10 of a mile walk to the marina (with great restaurants on the way), but are far enough away for peace and quiet. Additionally, after your first stay with them, you are treated to a 20% discount as a returning customer. All in all we had a wonderful experience during our trip, and largely due to our stay here. We were pointed in the right direction for things to do and see, and also recommendations on local restaurants that all proved to really round out our visit. I know for all future visits to this area (maybe we'll make it a tradition) we will stay here, and also recommend it to all of our family...

Perfect little hidden Gem in a wonderful area to be. This place may be small, but feels like a mini home with comfort. We wanted a little getaway for Easter wknd, without the hassle of the casino's hotel hustle & bustle, elevator riding to take up luggage, or to get in or out. I love the cabin feel of hominess (is that a word?), Linda & Johann's hospitality, sleeping or waking to a warm cabin room with a gas fireplace to keep it cozy. instead of just (free) breakfast with stale croissant's or Danish's and who knows how long the coffee's been sitting, you get home baked breakfasts, fresh coffee and fresh juices. They have a little happy hour around the outside firepit (we didn't get a chance for this as we had a long day out and got back late). You are welcomed in to a warm feeling room ( we had a bunkbed in ours as we took our daughter with us, next time just the 2 of us ;) ) with a plate of cookies, mini fridge/freezer coffee pot dishes microwave toaster... quite a few things not to go overboard you need to be comfy. Very clean, a lot cleaner than you would get in a hotel room and smells wonderful with no previous smoke smells. Very close to the lake, restaurants', shops ,casinos ,ski areas a lot to do without being so congested into town. We highly recommend you try this place and you wont regret it. thanks Linda & Johann for your warm welcome. and making our couple days out there nice. Benita...

My experience was overall really good. A few things weren't to appealing but let's get to it.

I liked that you are able to access your room via key code, no forgetting a key or having to have it on you.

While the hotel is close to pioneer road which is busy at times. I went during the week and it wasn't as loud as a busy weekend.

I enjoyed watching Netflix, I don't have it at my house. That was a plus. TV was in a weird area though.

I didn't like that the fan didn't work, and the gas fireplace emits some heat which warms up the room. This is not ideal because I sleep better when it's cooler. I think they had poilet should be off especially during warm months I almost shut it off. But I made it through . Summer it should be off completely though.

The motel sign is very bright and no dark curtains so it lights up the room .

The bathroom toilet took forever to flush , which made me think it may get clogged.

No staff except early morning, maids. I think there is a number to call if you need something but being on your own if something happens is bad.

Luckily not to many ppl where there when I was but I think during busy times it could get crowded. Not a big parking lot.

Cool benches outside the rooms, nice feeling of being in the woods.

The room is very small I don't mind. But you can bump into things and the kitchen is just a shelf with all the amenities.

Close to downtown just a...

My friend and I stayed here for a girl's weekend and had the absolute best time! Linda and Johan were the sweetest couple and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. From our names being written on the door, delicious homemade breakfast, cookies left on the bed daily, and nightly happy hour, everything was perfect and no detail was left untouched. The cabin rooms were cozy and the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect, with everything being a short walk or quick drive away. We honestly were sad to leave because we had such a nice experience! I highly recommend this place to stay! It's not just a hotel, it's an experience!

Pros - clean, well decorated and comfy bed. Cons - the two things that I loved about the reviews, fire pit chats and breakfast no longer exist. Minute rooms, half the size of most hotel rooms. One collapsible wooden chair ( between two people ??!) nowhere to sit and eat, except for the bed. Kitchenette is an overstatement. No hob , oven , pans. The worst thing though? Plastic knives forks and spoons along with plates and bowls…. Covid might have given them an excuse at one time, but not now. Aren’t we all aware of how damaging this one time use, throw away plastic culture is ? Poorly finished kitchen cupboards.
