Location: Crafty Crab, 211 Cypress Creek Pkwy, Ste L, Houston, TX 77090 I usually don’t leave reviews like this, but what happened during our visit was so unsettling that I feel obligated to share. My experience started off fine, our server, Genesis, was polite and attentive. She did her best and deserves recognition for her service. The problem came from the kitchen and management, and it was serious. The kitchen accidentally placed my side of corn and potatoes into the wrong seafood bag at our table. Instead of correcting the mistake properly, the kitchen told our waitress to ask the other diners to take the food out of their bag by hand (no gloves) and put it on a plate for me. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was shocked to learn that Angel, the manager, was the one who approved this. I told him this was extremely unsanitary, and he brushed it off and said, “Do you want the food or not?” He even told the other guests pay for extra corn and potatoes (the kitchen’s mistake) or give it back and he accepted the touched food back into the kitchen. No gloves, no food safety protocols, just completely unprofessional and unsafe. To top it off, there was no health inspection grade posted anywhere, which raised even more concerns. I've never encountered this kind of behavior from restaurant management. It wasn't just bad service, it was a serious food safety issue. I reported the incident to the Houston Health Department because situations like this put people at risk. Until this place gets proper training and a new manager who actually respects health standards, I strongly do not recommend dining here.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I reported them to the health department after witnessing multiple concerns. I later saw a review about a waiter stealing a customer’s credit card information, and I personally witnessed a similar incident— a waitress (Hispanic young girl barely speaks English) attempted to walk toward the kitchen with a customer’s card until the customer demanded it back. She literally walked pass the register, which was in eyesight. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the review until after my visit. On top of that, I found long hair in my boil bag, the customer service was awful, and the staff seemed uninterested in being there. The strong odor upon entering was off-putting, but things only went downhill from there. Lastly, I do not recommend ordering a Sidecar—the drink was terrible and possibly made with low-quality alcohol. I took three sips and couldn't even finish it. I considered asking for a manager, but after seeing the table across from us—a very kind family—do so, I decided against it. They raised concerns about the quality and accuracy of their food, but the Asian manager immediately dismissed their complaint, accusing them of lying before they could fully explain. At that point, I chose to pay in cash, leave, and not take any of the unfinished food with me. While the seasoning was decent, the overall quality of the food, drinks, and service was disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I attached a picture of my shrimp boil right after I opened it, before discovering the hair I pulled from under the corn.

After being a long time patron (I guess it doesn't really matter if this was my thousandth time or 1st time 🙄) of Crafty Crab, I'm definitely not a happy camper tonight. So instead of dining in like we normally do, I decided to just place an order to go for my family. After ordering my normal (Lobster special), my daughter & niece wanted fish. They're 5 & 6 so ordering a larger portion fish combo was going to be a waste since I knew they weren't going to eat it all & went for the normal Catfish kid's combo. I was told by the very sweet young lady who was taking my order (I don't know her name but this definitely isn't her fault as she was just going by what seems like "policy") that kid's meals are only for dine in. I asked to speak to the manager, Dan/Ben (I couldn't really decipher what he was saying as my reception was going in & out) & he told me that it's indeed their "policy." So this review isn't for the workers, but to whomever is over the establishment & put such policy in place. It really should be revised. I'd understand the concern if I was just ordering the two kid's combo by themselves, but I had an entire Lobster special with add ons included. Or if there were kid's specials like kids eat free or something. Anyways, I just canceled the entire order & went elsewhere.I guess if we can't DINE IN as a family, then we won't be eating here. So for other moms (or dads) of small children (who's kids still eat on the kid's menu) that would like takeout from here, please be aware that in order to order a kid's meal, you must dine in smh.

I would not recommend this place to anybody and or anybody that is trying to have a celebration with their family. I had called today at 3:23 PM and I had spoke with the manager Angel about having a small get together for my son less than six people. He told me that that would be fine and if it was more than 15 to 20 people that I would need to have a private area in the back and they do have that to accommodate me once I told him that it would be less than six people. He said that is perfect. You do not have to book a reservation you can come. I also let him know that I would be coming at about 7:00 PM after my son was done with football practice again this is me speaking directly to the manager. That is the manager at the location on 1960 and 45 in Houston, Texas. Today, August 21 Is my son’s double digit birthday he just entered the double digits as 10 years old. It was less than 6 people my son and his father has showed up 45 minutes before order and paid for their food after my sisters arrived two of them only and they were eating and they paid for their food while they were waiting for me to show up with my fiancé with my sons cake. I did speak to Angel the manager and I asked him was it fine if we bring in two balloons and a birthday cake he said yes that is fine as long as it is less than the amount of people that he stated before and agreed as soon as I walk into the establishment two urban before I could even get to my son started to come to me and tell me that I would have to pay for a party as though I had 15 or more people again, I did not and I’m pretty sure that the camera footage can prove that before I could even sit down and put my things down. They already started with urban behavior. So I chose not to speak with them, and I would like to speak to the manager that I spoke with earlier angel. The man approached me and he told me that I had to a gratuity because it was a party, but again no party just a celebration less than six people and four people had already paid in advance before I got there. As I was speaking to the manager, I let him know that I spoke to Angel and I asked him what was his name. And I also asked him for the corporate number which he denied me the right and said he did not have the number and he don’t know .He proceeded to to tell me that his name was Jose and the security guard pulled me to the side and let me know that he was lying. His name was not Jose that his name was actually Angel. They completely ruined My son‘s birthday had him in tears if there was any type of problem or I needed to book for a party I would have and or made a reservation because I had already called in advance to make sure everything that I needed to do to follow crafty crabs, guidelines, and rules, they had my son in tears due to the fact that the waitresses and the front employees were being completely urban again and rude my son just turned 10 and this was supposed to be a celebration in love and crafty crab completely completely ruined it.NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER GIVE THEM ANY OF MY MONEY AND THE FOOD WAS...

I visited Crusty Crab last night and ordered the small seafood platter with Cajun sauce. The sauce itself was absolutely delicious—flavorful and well-balanced. The potato, corn, and side of rice were also excellent. However, once we began eating the seafood, things took a sharp turn. After just a few bites—a couple of shrimp, two clams, and half a crab leg—I began to feel extremely nauseous. The flavor was overwhelming and unpleasant, almost like seawater, and I couldn’t stomach any more. My dining companion and I left 97% of the seafood untouched. I requested lemon water or something to cleanse my palate, but the discomfort was immediate and intense. Our waiter was outstanding—attentive, understanding, and very professional. He brought over the manager on duty, Angel, to address the issue. I want to be clear: I wasn’t looking for a refund or to avoid paying. I simply wanted the dish to be acknowledged as inedible and, ideally, accommodated appropriately since I couldn’t eat it. Unfortunately, the response I received from Angel was shockingly rude and unprofessional. From the moment he approached our table, he was defensive and dismissive. When I mentioned that the seafood didn’t taste fresh and that I was feeling sick, he took it personally and responded aggressively, insisting their seafood is always fresh and that they’ve never received complaints. I explained that I’ve been a loyal customer and this location is actually one of our favorites, but the food that night was not up to standard. Rather than listening, Angel continued to argue and even questioned whether I was truly feeling sick, claiming it would take 24–48 hours for symptoms to appear. I reminded him he was a restaurant manager—not a medical professional—and that making such claims was both inappropriate and dismissive. When I asked for his name, he became even more confrontational. He loudly stated, “I don’t gotta write down shit for nobody,” and walked away. This level of disrespect and lack of accountability was truly appalling. What upset me most was not the food, but the way I was treated. Angel showed no empathy or professionalism. After a lengthy and uncomfortable discussion, he finally offered a 25% discount, only to later apply just 10% at checkout. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant setting. I will be contacting corporate regarding this matter and am also considering speaking with legal counsel due to the severity of how this situation affected me physically and...

Months ago my review was 5 total stars and if there were more to give I certainly would have give them, at that TIME. I hadn't been in a few months and was eager to go since a friend was treating me for my birthday. Crawfish was definitely on the menu, and where better to enjoy it than Crafty Crab. My friend had never been so I was eager to have her enjoy the food, drinks, and vibe with me. As we entered in you could hear a pin drop. We proceeded to the bar and once greeted by the bar staff the first question was, why is it so dead in here? Where is the music? The vibe was so somber and sad. The answer that we were given was that they were not able to play the music anymore and wasn't sure why. With the response, which was little to none we then ask to speak with the owner. About 5 mins later the bartend staff comes back to say they were told no there could not be any music played. Shortly after, we were able to vaguely hear a little something but it did absolutely nothing for the vibe. Finally, the manager came over to say that they were unable to touch the music according to the owner and there was no remote. We decided at that point to not patronize since no exception could be made. On the way out we ran across the owner and as we proceeded to speak with him about it we were cut off mid statement, with him saying that we could not speak to him but to speak with the manager instead. His ego and attitude was huge and very ugly. I could not believe what I had just witnessed at a restaurant that I once loved. I then let him know that I had already spoken with the manager but as a regular customer I really wanted to understand what was happening by speaking directly to him. Unfortunately, he refused to have a conversation with his customers. I highly recommend you all not patronize this business as customer service is not an important factor to this establishment. I give 0 stars, do not recommend. Also, it is evident that the staff is being bullied by that Chinese devil who thinks he's invincible. Do not aupport this business he doesn't value his employees...
