Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Saint Clairsville — Hotel in St. Clairsville

My family and I are currently wrapping up our stay here at Hawthorn Suites in St. Clairsville, OH. First, I must applaud the management and staff here. I've never felt so welcomed and at home in a hotel. The manager and staff have all gone above and beyond to greet us warmly, help us with anything that will make our stay more comfortable, and generally are just overall very efficient, kind, and simply awesome. The suite was much more spacious than we had expected in comparison to other hotel suites we've encountered. There was plenty of sleep space for the entire family, a full kitchen, and a very large bathroom. While I was here I spent some time in the fitness room which had all I needed for an effective workout, including towels and a water cooler. We enjoyed the manager's complimentary appetizers and drinks each night. One night there were delicious Swedish meatballs and macaroni and cheese, while another night there was savory pulled pork and refreshing coleslaw. Each day there was cool fresh water in the lobby and scrumptious cookies. What another great unexpected treat to have in the evening! The breakfast each morning was plentiful with fresh waffles, breakfast meats (bacon one day, sausage the next), sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs, muffins, cereal, bagels, toast, pastries, coffee, and an assortment of juices. I can't make enough positive comments about this hotel. While the suite and amenities were enough to warrant a positive review, I know that it was the manager and staff who truly made our stay as perfect as it was. 9-12-2023. My lovely bride and I stayed at the Hawthorn Suites in St. Clairsville, Ohio, for my Birthday this past weekend. We had a lovely, quiet stay. The suite was clean, neat, and well-maintained. It was on the fourth floor, far from the elevator, making it extremely quiet. The King bed was comfortable, as was the climate control. The television was full High Definition with more channels than anyone could imagine. They were crystal clear with no issues. The suite also included a dining area, a kitchen with full tableware and cooking accessories, and a comfortable living room. The accommodations included a free Breakfast Buffet. On our first morning, the Breakfast menu included scrambled eggs with sausage and hash browns. The second morning, I had Kielbasa, scrambled eggs, and toast with jelly. The Restaurant provided three flavors of self-serve juice with the meal. I cannot understand why the Hawthorn Suites is classified as a three-star hotel unless it is because of the Clientele. Most of the occupants were workers from the local oil and gas companies. They were nice, respectful, and quiet. The people at the front desk, namely Destinie, was a gem, and so was our Chef Shameka. She made some excellent food for us during the stay and has a super personality. I want to thank the Hawthorn Suites, Destinie, and Shameka for making my Birthday weekend one to remember. Stay at this hotel for work 21 days a month so it’s like a home away from home, front desk staff always meets you with a smile and are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast is always top notch with plenty of selection and the choices rotate daily so you are not stuck eating the same old food every morning like other hotels. Hotel is always clean and neatly kept. The outside of the property is well groomed and decor changes with the seasons. A very well let parking lot, with plenty of parking. The rooms are very spacious compete with walking in showers, large television, a full size refrigerator and a cook top. Always a plus is the social that is held Monday through Thursday evenings where you will find refreshments and a lite snack which is always welcome after a long day at work.
