My family and I visited Schlaflys 2 Saturdays ago . We came in from Tulsa , Oklahoma , to see Albert and yadi retire on Sunday , and were very excited to sample local breweries because we all run and manage restaurants in Tulsa ourselves . Our first impression was wildly negative though . We sat at 9PM , my little brother asked to sit on the patio so they sat us there . Our server , Ainsley , was IMMEDIATELY angry with US before she even greeted us. Stating that we really shouldn't be sitting there because the patio was closed . (Again , 9PM , Saturday night , 75⁰ out) . So , as a manager of a high volume brewery with a patio in downtown and wildly thrown off that a server would EVER act like that to a table , I ask , after an apology that we were there , why they sat us here if we weren't supposed to be there . She responds with an incredible amount of attitude that "Oh you asked to sit here so of course we have to (said with a massive smile and eye roll directly at my mother) but you shouldn't have been able to" She continued on this another 20 minutes , until around getting our food order when she actually asked if we were okay . I tipped 20% because i physically can't tip less and be okay with it being in the industry , but at 24 years old and a while in the industry , this was the most astounded I've ever been by a servers attitude . The food was excellent and the beer was even better , but the service was the worst ive had , it was supposed to be a BIG deal to be there with my family and my mom and dad on a year long awaited vacation and we were so excited to be there , just to be met with hostility and regret that we were in the building . It VERY quickly ruined the entire...

Read moreI was part of a group who planned a high school reunion that happened here in April 2022. We wanted a private space that could accommodate any dress code, that could provide food and a private bar, was accessible to all (stairs and elevator available), and that would frankly not charge an unreasonable cost for the use of their space. Schlafly Tap Room delivered for us big time. Restaurant and private events manager John Elafros got us everything we wanted and was a pleasure to work with. He's attentive, accommodating, and responsive. The private rooms upstairs are great, with brick walls, large windows, exposed wood beams and cozy lighting. The up-front cost to get the room was $750, which was much lower than many venues around the St. Louis area. Food and bar packages are very reasonably priced and while you can absolutely spend a lot of money here if you go for the big food packages and open bar, you can also keep your costs quite low while providing lots of food for your guests. Our class wanted a cash bar and appetizer buffet, and John and his staff kept up with us all night. The ambience of the room paired with the ability to decorate on your own has gotten a lot of great feedback from our reunion attendees. You can play your own music and run a slideshow of pictures or videos with their included A/V capabilities, and you get your own private restrooms. Simply put, 5 stars,...
