Hinterland Bride — Local services in Burlington

I am not one to typically write google reviews but I HAVE to about Hinterland. Dress shopping was definitely lower on my list of things that I was excited for about planning a wedding. I am not a bride who had done much research on style or fit that I was interested in and I was nervous about trying on dresses with my mid winter skin and post holiday weight. But let me tell you, you will NOT regret going to Hinterland.

From the moment we entered their shop, I was amazed at how warm and welcome it felt (it's somehow even more beautiful than on instagram). Chelsea and Zari are such an incredible and passionate team. They were so efficient in getting a feel for the wedding day and what my vision was. They have curated this feeling of “getting down to business” in the most beautiful, relaxing way. I actually felt excited to be there. In no time I was trying on dresses and much to my surprise, I felt beautiful in just about everything I tried. They were also very transparent about prices and respectful of budget goals. Chelsea and Zari felt like friends I had known for years. I never felt any pressure from them to buy a dress or give them an answer that I wasn’t ready to give.

I went to two other bridal boutiques that were also filled with beautiful dresses and lovely staff but words cannot describe how Chelsea and Zari made me feel. You’re not just a customer. They genuinely want you to find something you love and makes you feel your best on your big day.

I visited Hinterland Bride yesterday with my mom without any expectations, and left with a DREAM of a dress and feeling beautiful and confident! Emma and Chelsea were so fun and easygoing, they know the dresses and designers inside out, and they showed me a wide variety of dresses while being transparent about budget and sticking to it. In total I tried on 14 dresses (all completely different styles!) and we overstayed our appointment time, but I never once felt rushed or pressured and the time flew by. The girls made me feel so so beautiful in every single dress, and I ended up purchasing a sample dress that they picked for me that I probably wouldn’t have chosen from looking at it on the rack. I tried it on towards the end of the appointment, and as soon as I did, I didn’t want to take it off!

Hinterland has a great variety of designers if you’re looking for something more modern and sleek, or unconventional like two piece or cutouts. I’m not really a lace girl but all their lace dresses were GORGEOUS non “traditional” floral designs that I loved. They have all the silhouettes and necklines you can dream of, and even some of their sample dresses came in below $1500. (Attaching a few runner-ups ranging from $1250-$4000)

As soon as you walk in to Hinterland Bride, you know it’s something special. The whole vibe is light, airy, and whimsically romantic. After getting engaged in the beginning of 2020, and about a year of being on hold with anything wedding-planning related, visiting Hinterland was a breath of fresh air - and provided that “bride-to-be” butterflies moment.

Dress shopping at Hinterland was an all-around magical experience. Originally, I thought we would have to go to Boston or NYC to go wedding dress shopping, but this boutique shop is SUCH a gem in Burlington, VT. The whole experience was more intimate and stress-free than anything I could have expected going into the city to look. And the dresses!! I couldn’t say enough good things about Zari’s collection. It’s such a beautifully curated shop with dresses for every type of bride: from fancy fairytale weddings to the prettiest elopement.

Zari and Chelsea were absolutely amazing and helped me pick dresses perfect for my personality and wedding vibe. Couldn't have made my very first wedding appointment more seamless or successful! I ended up buying the first dress I fell in love with when I first walked into the shop, as well as a delicate hair vine that pulled the whole look together. Highly,...
