Let me start with the only positive. The spicy fish was outstanding! Lightly fried and served in a spicy basil sauce. The chef, originally from Thailand, did an amazing job and earned a big tip as a result.
The server made us sit at our table for 10 minutes before asking is we wanted water or ice water. Then another 10 minutes before taking our order. During this time he went to the adjacent table with a group of locals four times, My wife ordered pad Thai and his response was “typical safe order for a while person.“. The server is just as white as we are! He attended to the people at the next table again, took their check, cleared their table and then came back to us well after the chef brought our meals. By that time, we were finished with our meals and very thirsty because he didn’t refill our water glasses until we were ready to pay the check.
I understand it’s a busy time of year, but my message to the owner is you have a great chef, but your server is not helping...
Read moreWent there as a party of 6 during the peak fall season around 6pm. We were the first in line. The waiter promised us a seat in 10 mins by bragging about a shorter wait time compared to other restaurants nearby - this was a clear indication of trickery and play of words, but we decided to wait. He used us as an excuse to increase the wait time expectations of other customers. But the reality was far worse - we got a seat around 1 hr later, and our order was not taken for another 15-20 mins. During the wait time we read all the bad reviews and prepared ourselves for the worst.
My wife and I ordered Pad Thai. The waiter didn't ask us about the spice level even though it's mentioned in the menu. The food smelled a bit old and rotten. We dumped the whole box of Pad Thai and left. It's tough to think of any good feedback. The staff were very cunning, but not as rude as portrayed in other reviews. They reacted to our request to be seated and to our food orders only when we showed...
Read moreHands down, the worst “Thai” food we’ve ever had. And Thai food is our favorite, having had it throughout the world. -Ordered Pad Thai with tofu and it tasted like old shrimp; apparently, they extracted the shrimp and added tofu to the dish, when we ordered it with tofu. It had zero resemblance to a real Pad Thai dish. -Asked for steamed tofu in our dishes; unlike any other Thai restaurant we’ve ever been to, they only had fried tofu - and it was huge, tough and slimy. -We ordered Massaman curry and Panang curry. It was the same sauce on both, with a bit of spice added to one of them. -Traditional Penang has basil and broccoli. This dish had 2 mushy peas and two mushy pieces of bell pepper. The massaman had slimy potatoes and a thin slice of overcooked onion. The sauce was too thin and had no resemblance to Penang at an authentic Thai restaurant. -They included a slice of rotten lime (the rind was brown) in one of the dishes. We could go...
