This was an average stay for Hampton Inn. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. As this was memorial day weekend the rates were inflated however I don't think the rate reflects the quality, even when staying on non-peak days. We stayed for a soccer tournament. The location was perfect for a quick trip to the fields and back, only about a 5 minute drive. Walmart directly behind the hotel, and shops and restaurants across the street. It's about a 15 minute drive to the Gettysburg battlefields. I stay at Hampton inn's pretty exclusively. This one did have some issues with the room. The rooms are relatively small compared to other Hamptons, with bags and sports items and 2 adults and 2 teenagers it was a tight fit. The shower had old fixtures and didn't fully switch from tub to shower so the pressure was a little off and wasted a ton of water. The beds were very firm. They did not have medium or dark roast coffee, only light or decaf. The cookies were all oatmeal raisin, they still tasted great however would've enjoyed a variety. The breakfast was pretty great with good options. The pool was a good size/depth and clean, but the hot tub was barely hot, probably because it's used as a kiddie pool by most parents. There was a lot of street noise, not much from inside the hotel but the traffic outside and people showing off their engines was quite loud as I chose a street side room and definitely should've chose one with a parking lot view. The one small window had the loudest curtain when raising it up and down. There was a small desk that was beside a bed so not much room to spread out. We had gotten take out and had to eat in the bed. They also had very ineffective luggage carts. They were a small triangle shape which makes for interesting arrangement of bags. I don't know that if I find myself in Gettysburg again, that I would stay here or try a different hotel. It was not worth the rate and other hotels had much better rates. It pains me to say that as I prefer Hampton Inn and pay a higher rate over other hotels because it is usually a...

Read moreThe Hampton Inn Gettysburg nails the essentials: comfort, cleanliness, and a staff that genuinely seems to care. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in and relax without any hassle.
What They Got Right:
• Staff: Friendly, professional, and always helpful. Exactly what you want when checking in after a long drive.
• Cleanliness: Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, like they actually take pride in the place (which, sadly, isn’t a given everywhere).
• Beds: Extremely comfortable. Once you’re in, good luck getting back out on time.
• Shower pressure and heat: No sad trickle of lukewarm water here…this shower means business.
• Exterior lighting: Bright and secure, so your car sleeps just as soundly as you do.
• Vending machines and ice machines: Stocked, clean, and fully operational—because nothing’s worse than a vending machine that just eats your dollar.
• Breakfast: Surprisingly good. Not just an afterthought, but actually worth waking up for.
• Location: Quiet and peaceful, making for a restful stay.
Room for Improvement:
• Pillow size: For a king bed, the pillows were… not kingly. More like junior varsity.
• Towels: Clean, but oddly resistant to absorbing water. It got the job done…eventually.
• Signage for amenities: Finding the pool and laundry felt like a mild treasure hunt. A few more signs would help.
Final Verdict:
Hampton Inn Gettysburg does the big things right, and that’s what really matters. A couple of small adjustments would take it from great to perfect, but I’d absolutely stay here again. Just maybe with my own pillow. We ate at the local Gettysburg Family Restaurant just across the street,...
