I would have loved to give this hotel a 5 star review and if it were just about the decorations and the utter beauty and the nice staff, I would have done so, but sadly this is an all inclusive review, we booked months ago for the Paracon and we reserved 2 rooms at 265.00 each which was a bit expensive seeing it's the off season but the room Description stated plush bedding, and since I have health issues that require a softer bed, I was willing to pay for a better room, I checked in online and when my husband went in to get the keys, there was only keys for one room even though we reserved 2 so we had to go through the process of getting another room. I will say The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are spacious, nice large pool and jacuzzi, fast forward to the rooms (and keeping in mind the bed was the main reason I booked this hotel) which were spacious and clean but the beds were God Awful 😖 It was the hardest thinnest mattress I'd ever seen in any hotel, let alone a luxury hotel. It was a basically an old school box spring mattress with maybe a half inch of cushion and a thin mattress pad which was thicker than the actual mattress cushion itself, I never slept all night due to the pain from the extremely hard mattress. I've never seen a hotel room without at least a micro fridge but my room had nothing to keep our drinks cold (but my brother's room had a fridge) I wasn't told that if you don't book breakfast with your reservation you couldn't do breakfast, which is crazy, as at booking I wasn't given an option to include breakfast, and there isn't even a restaurant listed in amenities, so we had no breakfast options without leaving the hotel, so instead I called to the desk and asked about at least being able to get coffee and was told we could get it from the little micro mart inside the hotel for $3.00 a cup which the cups were the size of a child sippy cup and the coffee was nasty. This is a luxury hotel that doesn't even offer free coffee or juice in the lobby, yes we had a 1 person keurig style pot in our room but not enough condiments to make 1 cup let alone 2 and the cups for the coffee were for cold beverages. I will give them Kudos for the 12pm check out time as that's rare these days but appreciated. Just before check out I checked my bank account and the hotel had 3 charges pending on my account 2@290.00 and one for $25.00, my all inclusive reservation receipt was for 530.00 not 580.00 and i had no idea what the $25.00 was for, I stopped at the desk to check out and addressed the charges and she said welll my system charges the going rate at time of check in until you check out and then you will only be charged the 530.00 as your agreed on your reservation and the $25.00 is charged to everyone using their bank card just to verify it's a legitimate card. Huh??? You just pended 580.00 and you still need to take bill another 25.00 to make sure the card is legit??? So now I have to wait for the charges to actually post to see what I was really charged. Again a beautiful hotel with great people and amenities but displays false advertisements regarding the beds and food situations. And and all the rooms fall very short of luxury as does the actual customer service regarding things like lack of free...
Read moreThis is my first time at this hotel. I had some friends stay here one weekend and they said how great it was so I figured I would try it out. When I got into the hotel I noticed that there were no trash bags in any of the 3 trash cans. Also the only coffee cup lid left for me for coffee in the morning has coffee stains on it as if it were used and they put back beside my coffee machine, gross! There was also no plastic liners for my ice bucket and no refrigerator! I called and told the lady at the front desk about all of these things and said that the cleaning guy will bring some up and they will see if they had another fridge to put into my room. I have never stayed at a hotel without a fridge in the room and I was counting on this because I had some drinks and food I wanted to keep in there. I went to the pool for an hour and came back and I see that they had brought a whole other “coffee kit” with everything I needed for coffee in the morning and a couple of plastic liners for the ice bucket but still no trash bags. I again called the front desk and asked where the trash bags and the fridge were. They said they were still working on the fridge and will brings trash bags asap. I left to go to a movie at the Gateway Movies next door and came back around 9pm. When I got to the room there were finally trash bags in the room, they were placed on the bed and not in the trash cans but still. I also had finally received a fridge that was so dented up it looked like it took a hard tumble down the stairs a few times but seemed to work properly. I never thought it would be so much work just to try to get trash bags and have a fridge in a hotel room that was already supposed to have these things. I paid about $140 for a night I expect to have stuff like that. Also the bar was closed because it was a weekday and not the weekend which is one reason I picked this hotel so i could have a few drinks and not have to drive back to a hotel. I also wish that little shop with the starbucks coffee was still open but was told that was also shut down. I am lucky that at least the pool was open. The pool area was nice and clean and the hot tub worked properly when the jets were turned on. Other than the dirty coffee cup, having no trash bags in any of the trash cans, no liners for the ice bucket, and having to refrigerator the room was very clean and had no...
Read moreLate review but I'm booking for that area for my yearly convention again that will be held at this hotel but I will be staying else where......
I book this hotel in October 2022 for a March 2023 stay. I book the suite as I did the previous year, because it was large enough for my intended use. When our convention is there, we usually open our rooms and host others who attend, for fellowship. There's usually anywhere from 5-15 people in our rooms at any given time. And people coming and going through out the evening. But We'll when I arrived, I was given a regular room and wasn't even told I was downgraded by the front desk clerk. So when I verified it was a suite, I was told no, I was downgraded because they were sold out and I was the last to reserve.(remember I book 5 and a half months a head of time and it was FULLY paid for in advance at the time of booking). If on top of being downgraded for a prepaid room, I booked almost 6 months in advance wasnt ridiculous in of itself, I was told by the clerk, the regular double rooms and the suites were the same prices, which is ridiculous. If that was the case everyone would have a suite and it'd be an all suite hotel. But I digress. I was so angry I was about to cancel, but being as though I drove 2.5 hours and I really needed to be in the same hotel due to there multiple events including early morning sessions, I had no choice but to take the room they had available. But they refused to credit me the difference, so I had to call Expedia which were great and they credit me the difference. Now back to the original reason i need the room, the auite has a sperate sleeping area and i dont have to worry about anyone in that area of sirting on my bed. Plus the regualt room was just to small. We were crammed in. It was hard for anyone to enjoy themselves. I asked to have the hotel manager reach out to me, which no one did. No one offered anything not even a meal or drink for the inconvenience. When I returned home , I called the hotel cooperate office and filed a complaint online and to this day no one has ever reached out to me. Vwry unprofessional all around. Our convention will be held in gettysburg April 2024 and I will not be booking this hotel, my responsibilities this year aren't as much as they were last year, so I don't mind staying in a hotel a little...
