I am a traveling nurse, I have been using choice hotels as my means for living for the last 4 months, I have never had issues checking in early. And yes every other hotel has been accommodating and allowed me a 7-7:30 am check in because I work nightshift and I am not in the hotel at all the whole evening. And I always ask for a late checkout and again, never has been an issue until I started doing assignments in Erie, PA. The last hotel I stayed at I loved and the staff was nice and welcoming but it wasn’t always a guarantee I could check in early there. Today I called the operator for choice hotels to see if they had any hotels that would allow me early entry (8am). They said yes the sleep inn. I arrived at 8:20 where I was greeted by the hotel manager who was nothing but confrontational and rude. He continuously told me it would be an additional 50$ for early check and and another 50$ for checkout. Had I been told this on the phone I never would’ve agreed to book and since it was same day booking I could not cancel the reservation: he then said it was only 50$ for checking in and checking out which I reluctantly agreed to. He told me I could leave at 6 pm today. I checked in at 8:30 am after 20 mins of him pretending to look at the computer to clarify I agreed to additional payments. After this arguing he gave me the total I was given on the phone ?? No additional 50$ charge: I went to my room slept went to work and then came back to the hotel thinking I had a late checkout of 6 pm because he stated I did the day before while checking in. I went to sleep and at 11:20 am I was being called by an employee telling me I had to get out of my room checkout was at 11. I said no I have a late checkout she said again checkout is at 11 but I’ll ask my manager and told me it would be 50$, again I’m not paying additional 100$ for a 100$ room for 1 night. So I got dressed and left the premises within 5 mins. We called choice hotel and complained and once corporate reached out to refund me they then told me to come back to the property checkout at 4 was approved and okay now. But stated it was 50$ charge AGAIN. Again I told them I am not paying 100$ additional for ONE day. So she said okay my manager says you can come back and stay until 4 no charge. I said no I had already left I am not returning. If you are a healthcare professional working nightshift, I would 100000% say do not ever book here! They are hostile, money Hungary, and not accommodating. They do not care that you spend 12+ hours caring for sick people. I left the hotel and slept in my car for 4 hours before work tonight. Terrible business and management.
For regular people that want to stay, this hotel is clean and provides breakfast. I didn’t eat but the food smelled good and my room was cleaned.
The window was unlocked so make sure to check your security. I am a younger female traveling alone so security is one of my...

All too often I read positive reviews on cheaper hotels, and I swear that they are fake reviews. I want to start my review off by assuring you that I am most certainly a real customer giving a real honest assessment of this place.
I have stay at Holiday Inn, Hampton, Wingate, Springhill suites by Marriott, and several others in the Erie Pennsylvania area. I want you to know with absolute certainty that sleep inn has been the absolute best hotel that we have stayed at locally. To start, they are genuinely happy to see you when you come through their doors. They were so friendly at check-in, even providing us with a welcome bag with snacks and drinks. My room was absolutely clean on the third floor (room 327), smelled nice, and the air, and heat worked wonderfully. The bed was comfortable, there is a very sturdy and comfortable place to sit in the window to enjoy the view of lake Erie in the background. There are double curtains to ensure that you get complete room darkness. We are to plus size people and got a queen bed. We fit just fine. The water pressure was great, hot water was plentiful, and toilet flushed quickly each time. The one tiny small downside was that the first night we were there the shower was clogged up. We brought it to their attention, and literally within minutes it was fixed perfectly again. They wasted no time getting to our room and corrected the issue immediately. We were there three days and constantly cleaning. There was not an instance where we were not greeted each and every time we entered and exited the building. Breakfast at this hotel is also very accommodating. They had hot options like sausage and eggs, along with all the other breakfast Staples. There is also free coffee in the lobby when you come in. It was very nice to have. We used the laundry machines and both were very clean and worked well. They will even provide change for you for them, or you can pay Mobile.
I am such a hotel critic, and I honestly could not find one thing to complain about with this place. I don’t know how long they have owned it, but they have made this hotel stand above the rest.
Hear me when I say absolutely never stay at another hotel in the Erie area other than sleep inn now. The commitment to customer satisfaction, the friendliness of each and every employee, the quality of our room, all played a part. This hotel cost way less than others around and I’m so glad I took a chance and tried it! Thank you Parth and team! You all reminded me that customer service is...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a HORRIBLE experience here. We booked a one night stay in room 212 to be exact. Checked in at 3pm, threw our things in the room, and headed out to Splash Lagoon for the day with our two 4 year old children. We got back to the hotel at 8 and proceeded to shower. While in the shower I noticed BLACK MOLD on the wall beside of the shower. The way the showers are set up all the water runs onto the walls and floor of the bathroom causing EXCESSIVE BLACK MOLD. When the problem was brought up I was offered another room. I absolutely refused the second room because I had just discovered black mold in the first room and black mold is not contained to one room in a whole building. There's not a doubt in my mind that every room probably has black mold. I was then told if I refused to switch rooms and cancel my reservation for the remainder of the night that I would have to pay a $50 cancelation fee.. So I Paid $200 for a moldy hotel room and now I also have to pay $50 to cancel my reservation...what?? After about 40 minutes the manager arrived and was extremely rude to me for pointing out the mold and refusing the second room. He made me take him to my room and show him the mold after I already showed picture proof at the desk. While in the room he proceeded to be very rude and even raised his voice at me while my children were also in the room. And while standing in the hotel bathroom discussing the mold situation had the audacity to tell me that my 4 yr old 40 pound kid was being too loud because he hopped down off the bed to come see who the strange man was in our room. After threatening to report him to the health department for a health hazard he finally agreed to provide a full refund with no $50 cancelation fee. I will never be back to this place and would recommend to avoid at all costs. Btw the "goody bag" they give you is 2 pieces of chocolate, bottle of water, and a small bag of chips. Nothing worth wild. Also if you are hauling a boat or a trailer be cautious because even tho their was a COACH bus in the parking lot the manager tried to tell a man hauling a boat with a pickup he probably wouldn't be able to park in the lot. Even tho he fit and wasn't taking up more than a bus parking spot. 0/10...
