We love and miss Country Fair after moving from Erie. This particular Co Fair has the most ignorant and rude employees of any Co Fair in Erie. For example, tonight we buried my dad. I’m not a big drinker. I had one 22 oz beer at the restaurant across the street next to our hotel. We walked to this Co Fair for a hotel snack. I had a water in a styrofoam cup, and my 13 y/o had an orange juice in same style cup. A very unpleasant employee came up to us and was very rude, accusing me of drinking alcohol in the store. My CHILD had the same cup style as me. It was WATER in my cup. We were NOT loud or obnoxious. We are upper middle class and “normal.” I guess because they sell alcohol in similar cups, she made an assumption. In the months leading up to my dad’s passing, we’ve had other rude, ignorant employees (not all, but quite a handful). It’s literally the ONLY Co Fair that’s been rude in the few months we’ve frequented Erie. This store needs to retrain their employees. Again, we adore Co Fair and several food items available only there, but I will avoid this particular location like the plague, esp after tonight. I could understand if we were loud and joking, but we weren’t. It was bc of a CUP, and sheer ignorance that we were accused of having alcohol. Due to my dad’s illness we’ve had to stay at the hotel(s) across the street many, many times. That meant many trips to this Co Fair simply due to location. Now that we no longer have to frequent the hotels on upper Peach, we will avoid this store at all cost. East Ave, East Lake Rd, and 8th St are in more deteriorated areas, yet have much...
Read moreDefinitely wanted to see if I was just crazy or if the deli lady was super rude for no reason. So, she asked for receipt & ID for the slushie, I hand them to her and she goes “NO, I need the receipt with a stamp” I said I don’t have one, the cashier never stamped it. I went and got it stamped but thought it was weird how she said it to me as if it was my fault? So I come back, she makes a point of checking my ID with my face for the longest/most obnoxious way she can (fine, your job I guess lol) then literally holds the slushie back as I try to grab it and say “thanks” and.. ya know, leave? She goes on this super long rant about how I am not allowed to open it on premises, I cannot drink on premises, that is against protocol, they’ll take it away, Do not drink and drive, etc- I kinda lost her after that. I just kinda stared at her as she handed me the slushie after the most pointless spiel and said “yeah so anyway I’m going home”. What about me looks like I want to sit in a gas station drinking a slushie from a milk gallon at 5 pm on a Friday, I couldn’t tell ya. Thought maybe she was just mad the slushie wasn’t for her but from reviews it looks like she’s just a...
Read moreI stop at this location often because my wife works nearby, but unfortunately, I’ve had problems almost every other visit. Today was the breaking point — my sandwich was served with the wax paper still cooked into the cheese. That’s not just unappetizing, it’s careless and frustrating. I spend my hard-earned money here and I don’t short you, yet I feel shorted on service time and again. It’s not right that I have to check every single product before I leave, just to make sure it was prepared correctly. Employees here are being paid to do a job, but the consistency and care aren’t showing. Based on my experiences (and many other negative reviews I’ve read), it’s hard to see how this store maintains a rating above four stars. Management really needs to step in and take a serious look at how this location is being run. I’ve already chosen not to buy anything from Country Fair myself, and if service doesn’t improve, you’ll be losing my wife’s business too. Customers...
