**Update** The Manager reached out to us and offered acceptable solutions to the stay that we experienced and offered her apologies and really put forth an effort to make it right with us. I really appreciated the effort. The staff was also very kind and attempted to be accommodating. This is the fourth time we have stayed but the first time since it has changed over to Wyndham Garden Inn. We were first assigned to room 119. The smell of heavy cleaning products and chlorine filled the room. The kids were excited to get their swimsuits on and head to Splash Lagoon so we didn’t inspect the room heavily. After a full day at the water park and dinner and arcade, we come back to the room to find filth. One child’s comforter had a food/spit up residue left on it, unwashed. The walls had staining of unknown original. The springs were visible of the top bunk and there was no wood reinforcement. The refrigerator unusable because of the large buildup of ice. The shower head was full of limescale. The unwashed food stain and stains on the wall lead me to request another room. We were assigned 203. At 10 at night, I am dragging my 8 and 5 year old to another room of filth. This one was worse. The bunk beds did not have mattresses, only cot pads backed up by foam. There was blood or food staining on the foam pads, and chunks of foam missing. No remote control for the children’s suite TV. Left behind splash lagoon bracelets and candy/food was visible on the floor. The jets inside of the whirlpool tub were disgusting and laced with mold. My son and I began coughing in the night, in which we discovered in the morning the reason….. visible black mold on the window with remnants of mold on the window sil. We slept in other people’s filth and didn’t shower for lack of cleanliness. We headed home first thing in the morning. I’ll be in contact with the health department for the mold investigation as well as the bodily fluids on the foam padding. We will never stay here again.

My family and I stayed for two nights at the Wyndham on the 4th floor. Positives- Check-in was quick and the hotel staff were nice. There were many restaurant and shopping options in the area. A hot standard hotel breakfast was provided. It was a short walk to Splash Lagoon. Never saw any bugs which is the most important thing to me. Negatives- Our room was not very clean upon arrival. There was dust, hair and dirt in drawers and on shelves. The headboards had handprints and streaks on them. We found crumbs around the beds. There was stuck on food? on the walls and floors. The shower only had two temperatures, scalding hot or freezing cold. I messed with it multiple times during our stay and there was no in between. The thermostat switched between heat and air on its own. On our second day I noticed a $130 charge on my debit card from the hotel. My husband went down to ask what it was and staff advised it would fall off after we left. It did, thankfully, but was still strange. I know hotels sometimes place a charge for incidentals up front, but that would have been nice to know at check-in. Our key cards also stopped working the second day and we had to go down and get new ones. Again, strange. I think I would check out a different hotel next time if we were to visit Splash Lagoon again.

If You Enjoy Broken Plumbing and Spoiled Yogurt, This Is the Place for You!

Where do I even begin? This hotel stay was a complete disaster from the moment we checked in. Let’s start with the room that was supposed to be a suite—what a joke. It was nothing more than a standard double room with two beds a mini microwave and tiny sink like a budget motel from the ’90s. I’m not sure where the ā€œsuiteā€ part came in. Maybe it was a suite of problems?

The toilet handle looked like it was engineered by someone who failed shop class—some sort of spring-loaded contraption that made flushing a gamble every time. The sink leaked whenever the faucet was turned on, which was a fun little bonus feature. And then came the burning smell. Unclear where it was coming from, but it was persistent and unsettling enough to make you wonder if you’d make it through the night without needing a fire extinguisher.

The hotel generously offered one extra pillow for a family of six —because apparently, comfort is rationed here. The elevator sounded like it was on its last legs, creaking and groaning like something out of a horror movie. Every floor had signs for vending machines, but surprise! Not a single vending machine in sight. Just empty promises and thirst.

The complimentary breakfast was a crime in and of itself. The milk was out of date, and the yogurt tasted like it had been fermenting under a heat lamp. And the coffee? So scalding hot it practically melted the cup—if you managed to hold it without third-degree burns, congrats. You win a prize.

Oh, and the Wi-Fi? Unusable overnight. Our white noise machine (a.k.a. YouTube) kept cutting out, which meant the kids kept waking up. Which meant we kept waking up. Which meant nobody slept, and everyone was cranky and exhausted before the day even began.

Bottom line: This place needs less ā€œamenitiesā€ and more functioning basics. Avoid at all costs unless you’re in the market for a frustrating, uncomfortable, and truly ridiculous experience. Zero...

I am so happy to report on my stay. 7/30, 1 night. We didn’t have any of the bad experiences that other guests have had. We had 2 rooms (1 with S. Lagoon package and 1 room paid separately with hotel itself to give us more sleeping room). Grabbed our wristbands around 2. Front staff was wonderful. Returned around 3:30 as instructed to see if room was ready. They had upgraded us to connecting rooms with all the beds we needed, and 1 room was ready. 30 minutes later ( I didn’t wait around, it’s just how our day at the park worked out), the other was ready. Room was fresh. Clean. No musty smell. Elevators don’t have gross peeling wallpaper. Geez what a complaint people would make. Get over it! Elevators were fine. It’s not frikking Manhattan, people!!! Bathroom had bottles of all needed items. Plentiful towels. Air conditioners worked great on a hot summer day. Furniture in rooms was fine. Hardwood stuff in great condition, not beat up etc. couches and chairs comfortable and not gross - water logged etc as people have complained. WiFi was great. No drops. Good size TV in both rooms as well as the living room that connected our two bedrooms. Didn’t try the jacuzzi tubs. I just don’t do that in hotels where there are lots of kids. Too much stuff blowing around from previous guests. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay or better friendliness with check-in. Stopped by desk around 7 pm to compliment the clerk for getting us a nice upgrade and she was folding sheets. That made me feel good that the whole staff is working together to make a great experience for people. I would 100% choose this hotel again while staying at...
