Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Summit Township

Once I arrived in the RV parking space, I tried calling ahead to place a takeout order. I was put on hold and waited about 10 minutes with no one ever picking up. So, I went inside. Behind the counter, I saw three cashiers—maybe one was in training. One of them was just standing there with a plastic smile, not doing anything. I get it, it’s a job. But if someone’s been on hold that long, maybe pick up the phone and follow through?

Thankfully, the hostess was completely different. She was kind, genuinely friendly, and helpful without any trace of attitude. I was hot, tired, and just wanted the biggest iced teas possible. She made sure I got exactly what I asked for, even placing them securely in a cup holder. Her kindness felt real—not forced—and I really appreciated that.

After that, I took my dog for a walk, then settled in for the night. We were exhausted. Unfortunately, we were woken up around 4 a.m. by a loud tour bus—possibly Greyhound or an airport shuttle. The driver and a passenger stood outside, right behind the RVs and between two of us, me being one of them, 😒 having a full-volume conversation for about 20–30 minutes, engine running the whole time. There were at least three other RVs parked, and I know for a fact that at least two of us were actual paying Cracker Barrel customers trying to sleep. It was incredibly inconsiderate.

All in all, this Cracker Barrel was just... meh, but not one I’d go out of my way...

Waited quite awhile for sever to come to our table , another 10 minutes to bring out coffee , looked like mass confusion was going to leave but just drove 45 minutes through snow storm and just wanted a break and eat , took quite awhile for our food to come out , potatoes were cold brought us biscuits,, we asked for other choice ,, so we waited over 10 minutes and just start eating , still no waitress ? So I got up walked to kitchen area , nobody paying attention to me , finally another waitress asked if I needed help ? I proceeded to tell her my potatoes were cold, could I get some hot gravy , she said sure I’ll bring you out some new ,,, still no waitress , coffee cups were empty by now , 5 min later the other waitress brought me out a lil cup of mashed potatoes,, BUT NO GRAVY , so a total of 20+ minutes after our server brought out our food ,, she was nowhere in sight , still no coffee ,, and just started eating our cold biscuits,, by now ,, finally our waitress comes out with 2 others and about 10 plates of food , and ignored us , so we waited n had to flag her down , told her we needed coffee and some gravy and DIDDNT order biscuits ,, but rolls , 5 min later we got gravy coffee n that’s it ! So good was great except cold mashed potatoes and cold biscuits we DIDDNT order ,,, 🤷🏻🤦🏻 so I received a msg from manager .,.. thank you for your response ? Lmao 🤣 WOW !! Expected a better response ,,,,,...

The waitress was busy but we sat for awhile after telling her we would like water as our beverage before she came back with it and as she went to set down our water one glass fell off the tray onto the table and naturally went all over. My pants were wet, my husbands shirt was wet and I even had to take my glasses off because they were all splashed up. I was standing trying to get the table wiped off and a few of the surrounding tables gave me their napkins to continue getting the water and ice off the table. A gentlemen came out with a mop and as he started to mop the mop head fell off so he said he would right back and I assumed he had to get another mop. By this time I wiped up the table and wiped up myself and sat back down which then the waitress came back with a pile of napkins and looked and said “oh you already took care of it” and chuckled. Then she left again and came back about 5 minutes later to tell us that there wasn’t any Southern Fried Chicken and we could have the chicken breast dinner because it would be about 15 minutes before the other chicken would be ready but my husband doesn’t care for white me so he told her we would wait. So after another 15 minutes our food did come out, we ate, got our leftover boxes, got our check and there was no compensation whatsoever on the check so we paid the bill and left.
