Our group reserved a block of rooms for a tournament. I went to check in and I was put in a handicapped room on the first floor which was a totally different floor from the rest of the team.I went to the room and it was dusty and dirty, even unwrapped candy on the floor. The bathroom floor hadn’t been mopped and there was black stuff in the floor. It was a handicap bathroom with a chair that was visibly dirty on the seat. Also the bathroom door was a pocket door that didn’t close all the way and you could see directly to the toilet. There was so much dust and filth in the room you could drag your finger across any horizontal surface and have a ball of dust. I asked to change it and they said my reservation was made online and could not be changed because the reservation was made online. I told them I called the number and told them who I spoke to. They said if I called the corporate number then the reservation would be put in as an online reservation. I told them I called BACK the next day to the hotel directly because when I had called the corporate number, they couldn’t find the block reservation number and booked me as a military reservation. One of the other moms told me to call the hotel directly to make my reservation so I did and spoke to a Stephanie. Still they told me the reservation could not be changed. Another hotel front desk staff who was clocked out, overhead the conversation and told me they could change my room for the night to 206 and then the next day change it again so I would be able to stay with the team in the block of rooms set aside for our team. The next morning I went to change rooms and they tried to put me BACK in the original room on the first floor where I started. The front desk lady was a different person and once again tried to tell me I couldn’t change from the original room because it was in the computer as an online reservation. I said that room is dirty and nasty and I did NOT make on online reservation and gave her the info given to me over the phone. She walked with me to see the room, and from just the smell I could tell it had not been cleaned. Without even looking I pointed to a corner that was dirty and she looked and it was still full of dirt and dust bunnies. I then dragged my finger across a picture frame and showed her the dust. And then showed her that the door doesn’t close all the way. I told her that I had booked a room for 2 adults and one child, but the other adult wasn’t able to make it, and I’d be happy to take a room with only one bed and I would pay the same rate of I could just stay in the same block of rooms with our team and out of that nasty room. She found me a room. Thank goodness that was a positive. The next room was 217 or 219 I can’t remember exactly, and it was DEFINITELY better than the room on the first floor. That room was still very dusty and I coughed most of the night and had to use my inhaler every night in the middle of the night from the coughing. Our team had other issues with rooms. But those reviews they will have to write. As a team we did decide we will NOT use your hotel for our group stays...
Read moreI stay at Choice Comfort Inn all the time. I booked this Comfort Inn in Erie because it is not in high-tax New York and advertises it has a self service laundromat. IT DOES NOT have a laundromat. Had I known the truth I would not have booked this stay here. Comfort Inn also falsely advertises it has an elevator. There is NO elevator. When I first walked in I was not greeted. The two tatted-up, (one with tattoo across her forehead) nose pierced, sour puss women at the "front desk" which was little more than a couple bar stool chairs and two tall countertops, didnt even look up. I stood there waiting. I was the only one there. Within 5 feet. The one finally said, "Youre checking in?" She still never looked up to address me properly. She never smiled, rapidly barely audibly, ran through the list of pool hours, breakfast time, etc. handing me the room key. Hardly looked up. These two need some training. Eventually they did start communicating better. As I walked to my room, I noticed the place is run down. The exterior door on the north east side of the property does not close properly - its accessible to the public which does not inspire safety. At the two adjacent doors, cardboard is placed on the thresholds & door jams are all rusted. Why cardboard? No idea To keep the rats out? The tv channels did not work, showed a "no internet connection" error mesage. No one answered the front desk phone when I called for assistance. I let it ring and ring. I tried again about 5 min later, still no answer. The phone crackled so much I thought it may not be working so I walked downstairs to the front desk. They called someone to help. A nice boy assisted with the tv. He mentioned problems regularly occur with the set ups. Havent checked the running water yet but Im not holding out hope that it works properly. The bed seems ok from having only sat on it so far. The indoor pool smelled like it was properly maintained with chlorine. Carpet throughout is disgusting, filthy, run down. No a/c in the hot hallways. I do not recommend anyone stay here. People are bringing their kids here for the "Splash" anmenity. I can only think of kids running barefoot in the dirty grimy bacteria-laden floors. I'd never bring my children here. If I could leave without financial...
Read moreUpdate: October 2024 Brenda at the check-in was so nice! We explained what we wanted and she set us up with the perfect room. Had a king size bed and a queen size bed and a Jacuzzi tub! Gosh were we ever thrilled. Prices were very reasonable. There was a microwave coffee maker mini fridge in the room, the air conditioning was good. We loved the great big two-person jacuzzi tub, that was the most fun of the night! Wi-Fi was slow 5.5 Mbps download 2.5 Mbps upload). TV appeared to have many channels but it was quite difficult to figure it out, there are four different TV guide channels based on subject matter (Network tv, specialty channels, sports, movies) but you have no idea where to find the guide channels so it was confusing but there was a good selection. We really liked this room. There was a little divider between the two beds which gave a bit of privacy and a place to put your stuff. They slipped the receipt / invoice under the door in the morning for a quicker checkout. They have a great breakfast area here, they know how to accommodate large crowds and the breakfast area is twinned except they only use one side when it is not super busy. There were eggs and french toast and bacon and a waffle maker and fruit and yogurt and hot and cold cereal and various bread products. Coffee tea juice etc. I really love this location and definitely will return!
Sept 2023:#1 takeaway: SUPER comfy beds & pillows! And fantastic breakfast. We had a very nice room except for one thing - all the 2nd floor rooms appeared to have lovely little balconies outside (with a table and chairs) except ours (204), so that was disappointing. Hotel is 2 floors, but no elevator (have to carry your stuff up). The bathtub needed a drain plug. Indoor pool looked really nice. Breakfast in the morning was excellent: scrambled eggs/sausage/biscuits & gravy (plus all the usual carbs: oatmeal/cereal/waffles/toast/bagels) fruit & yogurt. We would definitely...
