For those that have never been to an IHOP, the menu is complete with several different Pancakes, Waffles, Crepes, Omelettes, and a few select Sandwiches and Burgers.
I went three days after it opened. When I walked in, there were about 4-5 hostesses standing at the desk and there seemed to be a bit of confusion going on.
I feel that there is a flaw in the design that creates a safety hazard for staff. The "waitress stations" are right outside the kitchen doors. I actually witnessed training going on at one of the stations (I realize it is only the third day since it opened), which involved a cluster of five or so people standing right outside the kitchen door, blocking it. I also witnessed no less than three staff members actually be hit with the door as someone came out of the kitchen.
I had quite an interesting experience as far as my order was concerned as well. I had ordered one of the meals and asked for strawberry banana pancakes instead of the regular ones that came with my meal. When I finally got my meal, I had received the two regular side pancakes as well as a stack (of four) strawberry banana pancakes (unfortunately the photo I took magically disappeared from my phone, otherwise I'd have posted it as well. Note: Stack of pancakes are not the same size as the side pancakes shown in the photo). I began eating and noticed that my eggs were under-cooked (I ordered them fried hard, when I received them, the yokes and whites were still a bit runny).
One of the managers came over and asked if I received my order the way I wanted it, and I told her that I had wanted to substitute the pancakes. I then informed her about my eggs, as I had only had a few bites and found the runny whites. She asked if I wanted them to redo the eggs, which I said it was okay and not to worry about it (well, I had six pancakes!) said they would take care of it. She went into the kitchen and had a few words with my waiter, who then came over and apologized and said it would be taken care of.
I realized the majority of the eggs were underdone, so I only had a few bites. I moved onto the strawberry banana pancakes and was only able to eat about 1/3 to ½ of them. My waiter came back and brought the check and a box. I was looking over the check, which confused me. A manager stopped back and asked if everything was okay with the check and I said I wasn't sure, but I guessed so. She took a few minutes and explained that the kitchen had gotten confused by the order and even though it does say to substitute the pancakes, they made the complete order, which it looked like was added to the bill as well. She said both of those charges were removed, and there was a line on the bill for "Open $ Food" for $1.29. The Manager explained that this was an up-charge for substituting the pancakes. Then there was a compensation where they removed the charges for the strawberry pancakes.
When my waiter came back to pick up the check, he came carrying a plate of substitution sized strawberry banana pancakes and said "So, I think they made these replacements for you..." All I could do was laugh. I did notice that there was a difference though. The regular stack of strawberry banana pancakes had very few strawberries on top with some whipped cream, and there were bananas inside the pancakes. However, when I received the replacements after I got my check, these ones had sliced bananas on top.
All issues aside, I would probably recommend this location to others and may return after it's been open...
Read moreThe manager is the only reason I'm giving this place 2 Stars if it wasn't for her I would give them zero. We are from out of town and decided since we love IHOP back at home we would eat there. BIG mistake! We walked in and the resturesta was DEAD. We got sat when the server approached us we placed our drink order and our 4 kids meals. When she brought our drinks back I began to tell her the entree I'd like and I added a side salad. My husband was trying to ask her a question about the menu, but she had no knowledge of the topic. We waited for our food and it came. We asled her for more silverware since we only had 2 settings and there was 6 of us. I also realized I never received my side salad so I just told her to forget about it. As we were eating we realized only 1 out of the 4 kids meals was prepared decent. 2 were rare and one was so over cooked my kids couldn't chew it. I also was wondering if I placed their meals ahead of time why wasn't their good brought out first. While we were eating a 4 top walked in. My husband and I completely finished our plates and I finished my drink and we still were not even checked on once to see how things were going. Our server brought our check over and I asked to speak to a manager. I NEVER complain (I work in the service industry) but I had enough. I told the manager our experience she was very apologetic and took the kids raw food off and gave us a discount. I went up to the cash register to pay and here comes my server to cash me out. She began to apologize but added in that she was SUPER BUSY. I couldn't believe she said that! She literally had us and then while we were eating she got sat her second table. Maybe she shouldn't be a server if she can't handle 2 tables that were sat 30-35 minutes apart from each other. I gave her my money for the bill she asked me if I wanted my change back. I told her yes and then told her, her tip was on the table. There was no thank you at all. Just over all very disappointed in this...
Read moreI really wish I could give them 0 stars. The place was not busy at all when we arrived. After we ordered drinks it took Debbie 20 minutes to take our orders. 45 minutes later she says our food will be a few more minutes. I said that was unacceptable, there was no reson it should be taking so long. She went to get the manager. The manager approached our table a few minutes later. She was a mess. Pancake batter on her breast, a mess. She apologizes and says she didn’t know we’d been waiting so long and she give us half off of our bill. We said we’d pay full price just bring us our food. She goes back to the kitchen. Many minutes pass before the food is delivered. There were crapes, 2 burgers and chicken fried steak. My 2 pumpkin pancakes I am told will be a few more minutes because they take longer to cook. I say no way, there’s no way it takes longer to cook 2 pancakes than all of these other items. Michelle the shift manager gets snarky with me and tells me she can go get them from the back uncooked and I can have them like that. The family is done eating before my 2 pancakes come out which I promptly send back. My husband asks for the bill and since everything thus far has taken an extraordinarily long time I say in a nasty tone “now”. Michelle then turns around and says “I have to print it first” very rudely. I would never go back to that restaurant. EVER. BTW another family came in and asked for a high chair. Debbie walked away and left the mom standing there holding her toddler. The mom eventually found her own high chair. Debbie then comes over later and says “oh you found it yourself”. It then took her so long to come back to even get drink orders they left. When we were leaving we told Michelle she should check the reviews their restaurant has received on google. She replied their computers were down. They have...
