Picanha Brazilian Steakhouse — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

If I could give the food less stars, I would. We came on a holiday weekend at 630 pm. I couldn't believe there were only other 6 guests total in the entire dining room. That should have been my first red flag. When seated- we were instructed to head to the buffet. The warm food like beans and rice and potatoes, some form of tomato pasta dish, were CRUSTED to the pans. Who knows how long they'd been there. It was absolutely disgusting. I made a small salad from the salad bar. There were no salad toppings besides olives and croutons which I though was super odd as well. The pasta salad had no flavoring. When we ordered our drinks, my husband ordered an old fashioned and I ordered an amaretto sour. My amaretto wasn't terrible but the old fashioned was the worst we've ever had. He drank his once I dumped a portion of my amaretto in it to make it tolerable. Once the meats started to come out- the were DRY DRY. We tried a small bite of the first 3 things and finally said enough was enough. I let the manager know we were very disappointed in the quality and told her it was dry and showed her everything un eaten on our plates. She agreed it looked dry and then said "do you want me to tell the chef you want rare?" and I said "no, you cant make rare chicken" and she asked "what could be done or re-done?" Absolutely horrible experience!!! We went on February 12th with a 7:15 reservation. When we got there it looked packed n the lobby. We checked in and said we had a reservation, apparently that did not matter whatsoever. Apparently they had overbooked all the reservations and it was basically like you were just walking in at that point. The Hostesses were totally clueless and unhelpful and it was a disgrace. Management did not once talk to people and apologize for being overbooked. This being the weekend before Valentine’s Day many people had romantic evenings planned and they totally ruined our night and we drove 45 minutes to come here!!! Where is the management at this restaurant? Because the way they handled the situation tonight was disgusting having people just wait there!!!! What was supposed to be a memorable and romantic evening turned into a total nightmare and we ended up leaving! The hostesses at the front are totally clueless and to have them represent your restaurant is a joke!!! I have no sympathy for this restaurant the way they handled the situation tonight just shows they don’t care about their patrons. I will never once step foot in this establishment ever again!!!! A total fail in every way! So disappointed I drove from Jersey to be treated like garbage, with absolutely no answers from this joke...

I was really excited to try this place, but unfortunately, the experience was a huge disappointment. The service was by far the worst I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It took over 30 minutes just for our server to take our drink order—we sat down at 7:50 PM, and they didn’t come until 8:20 PM. Then, it was another 20 minutes just to get a simple Diet Coke.

The servers carrying meat kept passing by our table as if we weren’t even there. They would serve the table next to us and then walk away, ignoring us completely. We had to flag them down multiple times just to get served. And it wasn’t even that busy! The table next to us of the other side of our table was also frustrated and complained about the same issue.

This is not my first time at a Brazilian steakhouse—actually, my wife and I visit them regularly—but this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. The meat was consistently overcooked, even though I specifically asked for medium. Every time I requested it, they would insist I take what they had (which was always well done). In the end, I and my wife hardly ate because they never brought anything cooked to my preference.
