Stayed two separate times. The second time, we had one small issue. Otherwise, it would be 5 stars. The guy I stayed with is from another country and took a shower before we had to check out at 11:00 a.m. I think he might have had the curtain on the outside rather than inside of the tub because apparently he left a lot of water on the tile bathroom floor, enough to have leaked maybe 10" max (if I'm being really generous) out onto the carpet of the main room. We paid cash, and when you do, they take room fee as well as $100 security deposit up front. Had I seen the water I would have sopped it up with the extra towels and hit the carpet with a blow dryer to dry up the water (not like we spilled food or drink) before checking out, but alas, they were quite upset with us and claimed $60 of our security deposit for a "carpet cleaner". Luckily, my friend is a calm man, we did not argue with them on this past his asking in broken English "this is normal, no?" referring to getting water on the bathroom floor after a shower. The man became quite heated replying, "NO! THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND IF IT IS THEN YOU DON'T COME BACK!" He went on to crossly tell us they would lose money now because they wouldn't be able to book that room. The woman who I had been getting along with just fine, also flipped, and felt the need to lecture me on how I had mentioned to her about reading the positive reviews and had complimented on how nice the rooms are and 'how we (the guests) should work to keep them that way.' Anyways, we gave them what they said we owed, and my friend reminded them, 'We are paying repeat customers, you should not talk to us this way. It is unnecessary, and bad business.' I'm not sure if we're really not welcomed back or if that just meant to do better next time, but I would still go back. Like I said, if I had known about the water, I would have cleaned it myself because I leave things nice before I go. Maybe they just felt they needed to act upset to justify taking the money, or maybe they were just having a bad day like we all have sometimes. Would have been five stars had they not treated us poorly AND took the money. Would still highly recommend this place, just maybe do your own housekeeping before you leave and pay with a card you can dispute on in case you don't agree with the charges and are on a budget. I personally still believe that between the hours of 11:00 a.m. checkout and 3:00 p.m. check in time, they could have mopped the tile floor and dried the small *water spot on the carpet (couldn't have been more than 2sq feet if I'm exaggerating, seriously I dont think it even was 6" out onto the carpet😔) and rented the room out, but I'm glad my friend doesn't ruminate. We went on and enjoyed our day, and I learned something I appreciated about that man out of the ordeal. I just know some folks - that would have ruined their travel day, especially out $60...
Read moreWe highly recommend this place for an inexpensive stopover due to its excellent condition and outstanding service. My wife and I were on the way to the Finger Lakes and were looking for an inexpensive motel just to spend the night to break up the driving. We were a little apprehensive about staying at a Best Value Inn as we had a bad experience at a different location, but we were there and the price was right so we decided to take our chances. We're glad we did.
The place looked like it had just been built. Everything was spotless and in excellent condition. The bedroom was a little on the small size, but had almost everything you needed. Fridge, microwave, large flat screen TV, hair dryer, desk, phone and plenty of outlets. The only thing missing was a coffee maker, but coffee was available for free in the lobby. (And I don't drink coffee anyway.)
The bathroom was spacious with a large walk-in shower. The shower head, which could be handheld, had plenty of pressure and the hot water came up quickly.
We were surprised not find large pump bottles of shampoo and soap in the bathroom, but traditional individual toiletries.
I'm not able to stand for any length of time, so when I make a reservation I request a shower seat. Since this was a last minute stop, I had to ask when we checked in, and was told they didn't have one. Half an hour later I received a call from the owner who said he was putting the shower chair together and would have it over shortly. The owner had run out to the store and had bought one! I wouldn't expect that kind of service from an upscale hotel, let alone a budget motel.
We could have stayed at the major chain motel down the street for $100 more, but I doubt we would have had such a...
Read moreMy sister was visiting from our of state and chose this place to stay because the location was good as being a half way point between where I live and my brother lives. She was very pleased with her stay at America's Best Value Inn in Farmington. I spent enough time there to have a good review of it too. The check in was quick and easy, she was able to get in a little earlier than check in time. The owners were very pleasant and available for any questions via a phone at the front desk if they didn't happen to be at the desk. The room was very clean, the bathroom was clean. She found the bed comfortable. There was a TV to watch and I believe I saw a small fridge if you wanted to keep some beverages or snacks chilled. In the morning there was coffee available and packaged muffins near the front desk. Also a Dunkin Donuts shop directly behind the Inn that you could walk to, and a small diner next door where she got breakfast a couple of mornings. Also within 2min drive was a coffee shop, and 2 grocery stores, and was convenient to Canandaigua and Victor, just short drives away. She was very pleased with her stay and the room price was economical for...
