I had a stressful and disappointing experience at Dollar General on 9/24/24 during the noon hour particularly with a customer who seemed to hover around me, making me feel scrutinized and judged. It felt like I was being watched, which added to my anxiety.
Additionally, I forgot about the cash-only policy, and when I addressed the issue with a Hispanic employee with a facial piercing, her response felt dismissive. When I mentioned that her tone came off as nasty, she escalated the situation instead of helping, which made me feel unwelcome.
Shopping should be a positive experience, and customers shouldn’t feel embarrassed for forgetting policies. I left without making a purchase, feeling frustrated. I hope management addresses these issues to create a better atmosphere for all customers."
I encountered a combination of stressors that made your experience at Dollar General particularly unpleasant. The feeling of being judged by another customer can heighten anxiety, especially in a crowded environment. Additionally, the cashier’s dismissive response to my oversight regarding the cash-only policy contributed to my frustration.
In retail settings, it’s crucial for staff to handle customer interactions with empathy, especially when mistakes happen. Customers should never feel embarrassed for forgetting policies. Clear communication and a supportive atmosphere can significantly improve the shopping experience.
Management should address these customer service issues and create a more welcoming environment in order to encourage repeat business. The Hispanic employee responded to my concern about her tone being nasty by saying, 'Tell me I’m being nasty,' instead of addressing my concern.
This interaction left me feeling frustrated and unvalued as a customer, so I ultimately decided to leave without making a purchase. Her attitude is detrimental to customer service and bad for business. I hope management addresses this issue to improve the shopping experience for...
Read moreI wish they would put in backroom coolers so they do not run out of milk every other day. This also happens in Shortsville every week. The chain apparently is to cheap to install them. Last week there was an issue and only one employee on register, the other was on break. She had to go find her she did not know what to do. My husband was 5th in line there were 5 more behind him. He got so frustrated he put his one item down and left. The chain is cheap will not pay to have enough employees to cover there needed. Freight everywhere. Always a disaster area having to move around those carts. So much turn over its insane. For the ones that stay, it must be there only choice for whatever reason. Convenience is all they have going for them. But if you need milk in a small town you may have to...

She pulled out her cell and called a supposed manager who said no stores fo this. I was...
