AWFUL Management! Very EXPENSIVE place!!
We went in 5/29/15 to examine my 10 years old, the optometrist (not an Ophthalmologist thus not an MD) just allowed my kid to go in. When they came out the optometrist just said "his prescription have doubled and it is fairly common for is age". I asked him about the cause and he just simply reply "it is hereditary". I did say that no one in his family has suffered myopia (nor the 4 grandparents neither of the 8 uncles and aunts or my wife and I) but he did repeat the condition "is hereditary". So I wonder if the optometrist has read about the environmental factors that might cause Myopia (although this is not the point)
Then the clerk there (I believe the manager) said "we'll call you within 5-7 days with the prescription ready and we are going to need an hour or so to put into his frames". She charged us $166 and off we went. Also we had to pay extra $96 to have the "transition glasses" (total: $262 NOT including the frame)
On 6/9/16 around 4 PM my wife called asking to know what has happened and to know the prescription because we were going to buy some prescription goggles for the pool and the same lady (I believe the manager) said that they cannot give the prescription by the phone, they just could do it by fax and Mail (as in a letter USPS). My wife asked what about an e-mail the lady answered "we don't have the capability". Thus, I had to go physically to the store to get the prescription (just to say, that we are in mid of 2015 not 1995).
I went inside and I was asked how I was doing and I answered "not so good because I have to come so you can tell me a number". Immediately this lady had a poor body language and an unpleasant tone of voice so I decided to canceled everything and get my money back. She said that they had called us on 6/5 and left a message: NONE of our phones have registered a call from the business' phone number much less a message! I challenged the lady to come and see my home phone number (I still do) so she could see that no one from her place has called us. Anyway, she asked for my credit card to put the money back but she let me know at that moment that they were charging me $10 co-payment (never before was mentioned anything on co-payments). I did not challenge or said anything about the co-payment but I did say "I want you to know that I will tell everyone that I know not to come to this place" Her answered was with her rude tone "THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!"
I was flabbergasted a manager said that and in that tone to a customer. If this would have happened to me in my business I would have said something like "oh I am sorry we have a misunderstanding I know you might be upset but in a future..." you know something that will keep the door open. And when I said this to her she was even more rude so I had to leave the place as I was walking towards the door she raised her voice and said "HAVE A NICE DAY!!!"
What a place!! For sure I will not be going there ever besides being awfully expensive they are rude!
Lastly, we went yesterday to another place and the quote it is around $87 they are working on them as we speak... from $87 to $262 = $175 difference!!!!!!!!!!
Please save yourslef and your firends some money and possible some unpleasant time, do NOT...
Read moreThe Dr. deserves 5 stars, however did not have a good experience with the office staff at all. When I called to make the appt., I was asked if I was getting glasses or contacts - said contacts. When I came in, I had already printed up my benefit info, allowances, participating provider info, etc. Brought it all with me. The woman behind the counter said she couldn't find that information however the exam is $75, so if insurance picks up, I will owe $30. If not, I will owe $75. So not off to a great start but I said ok. Went in to see the Dr - he was fantastic, very nice, thorough, explained everything in terms of what he was looking for, symptoms to be aware of, etc. After the exam, went out to place my order for contacts, expecting to owe $30, as I was only ordering what my allowance would cover. Instead I was told I owe $114. Apparently there is a $90 "contact fitting fee," which no one had bothered to mention in the several times it was stated that I was there to get contacts. When I questioned the fee, I was told that since I wear contacts, it was assumed that I would know this. Why would you assume that? Why, when we discussed the fee for the exam did you not mention it then? Or when I called to make the appt and said I'm getting contacts, and provided my insurance info? Only after the exam was I told about the fee, and if I did not pay the fee, then I would not have a valid contact Rx, which was the whole reason for making the appt. Needless to say, the entire experience with the office staff felt like a bait and switch, and I didn't leave with a great impression...
Read moreIt has been 5 months since my original exam. I have lost track of how many times they have made me come back in. I still do not have a glasses or contacts prescription. The first exams were done virtually, and incorrectly. It wasn't until I had an exam with the owner that he realized the virtual doctors had the wrong prescription for me. No wonder none of the trial contacts worked. Now that I have an updated prescription, they have been incredibly slow to get me new trials and ordered the wrong brands. They have now stopped returning my calls or answering my emails. They will not provide me my new prescription, so I can't order new glasses or contacts. I have wasted my insurance benefits on their services and I now have to pay out of pocket to get another exam elsewhere. My husband also had a bad experience, where they had the wrong prescription for...
