You never know what you're going to find at a hotel, even if there are a large number of positive reviews. I was SO happy with my two night stay that I'm taking time to leave a review of my own.
I checked in and was greeted by the MOD. She personally helped me and was very nice. The hotel is in a busy location but it is hidden by trees and a commercial building across the street. It felt like an oasis from the noise and traffic that surrounded us.
The interior is modern with nice features, including areas that you can greet guests that may come to visit you. They still offer a free USA Today. Just an old-school added perk that I noticed.
Speaking of perks, they offer a wonderful free breakfast with fresh waffles, bacon, ham, eggs, etc. The lady that worked in the kitchen area was there the two mornings we were there. She does a great job and the food was always stocked and the area was clean. She's a definite asset to the company. Even if we went to McDonalds, breakfast for two would be $20.
Our room was nice. The shower is prettier than the one I have at home. The room "felt" clean, which is hard to explain. The bed and bedding were comfy and we slept well both nights.
I dropped by the front desk on our way home. I asked for the MOD and the same wonderful lady that helped me on my first day appeared. She greeted me by name and I was blown away. This appears to be a busy place because the parking lot fills up at night. Our first interaction was only a few minutes and the fact that she did that was impressive.
I let her know how much we enjoyed our stay and that we appreciated everything that she and her staff do. She was humble and gave credit to her staff. Class act.
The cost of our room was only $120 per night. Of course, this isn't The Ritz and I'm not comparing it to hotels that charge $500 per night. But, I think that the value that they provide, especially at this price point, is great.
If you haven't noticed, I highly recommend Comfort Inns of Tualatin. Give them a try and enjoy your...
Read moreWe stayed at the Comfort Inn in Tualatin, Oregon 06/14 - 6/18 and 06/20 - 06/23. We like this property. The rooms are good sized an well appointed, the beds are comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. This is our "go to" hotel when we are in the Portland area. Our first stay 06/14 - 06/18 was in room 208. Everything was fine with no problems. This was not the case for our second stay 06/20 - 06/23 in room 310. The first problem was with the internet connection. The wireless internet was not working when we checked in. It was working the next day, but it was not stable. The wired connection via an RJ45 Ethernet cable did not work during our entire stay. I reported this, but it was not fixed. The second problem was that the pop-up in the bathroom sink did not work. Someone came up to check on it, and I had to show them what the problem was. This was fixed while we were out for the day. Also, please consider providing a soap dish for the hand soap instead of that useless Plexiglas thing. This would help to keep the bathroom counter clean and dry. The third problem (and the one that bothered me the most) was with the microwave. I went to use it one morning, and it did not work. I notified the staff, and someone came up to look at it. In the meantime, I discovered that THE MICROWAVE WAS NOT PLUGGED IN! I managed to pull the cord out from behind the cabinet and plug it in to an available outlet near the desk. If I wanted to charge my phone or laptop, I had to unplug the microwave first. Come on, guys. If you are going to provide amenities like internet access and microwaves, please make sure that everything is working before another guest checks in. Whoever is doing quality control is not doing a very good job. Also, it seems that the entire staff has turned over since we were last there in 2011. Most of the people that are working there now are young and inexperienced. We will probably come back next year and give you...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much and will be back next time we are in the area. The location was great with easy access to highways and walking distance to Fred Meyer and a number of restaurants. The room was comfortable (with the exception of the pillows which is pretty common in hotels) and the bathroom was attractively designed with a great shower and plenty of hot water.
Everyone that we interacted with at the front desk was friendly, helpful, and efficient and made us feel valued. It was clear that the maids and maintenance people do a great job, because the entire hotel was immaculately clean and well maintained. The lady who works in the breakfast room during the week was wonderful. Unlike at most hotel breakfast rooms, you could really tell that she cared deeply about doing a great job for her customers. The hot foods were the best we've had with free hotel breakfasts. At most hotels, the scrambled eggs are rubbery and taste fake. Here, they were nice and fluffy and the fried potatoes were wonderfully seasoned. She also kept the food service area and the tables immaculately clean at all times, and pleasantly interacted with her customers. Her great attitude and level of service are far and away better than we've experienced at any other hotel breakfast room!
There were gold and platinum award plaques in the lobby, and based on our stay there, the awards were well deserved! The management and their team here are...
