Where do I begin. The atmosphere is 10/10. The decor is amazing. I was so excited to get some tasty food and I hate to say I left disappointed. If you want a place to go for just chips and salsa and drinks. You are good to go here. But, if you wanted something off the menu to resemble even slightly the name they gave it, this isn’t it. Our group of 3 ordered the Elote House Queso. The waitress did warn that it was cream cheese base and that held true but just no flavor. But, that’s fine it was just queso. I ordered the puffy taco plate - 1 chicken 1 beef with rice and beans on the side. The rice is the uncle bens spanish rice - not good but fine you didn’t want to make rice. The black beans were sour to the taste and almost spoiled tasting. I did tell the waitress about it. Her response is below. The puffy part was not there. These are not even close to puffy tacos so just don’t call them that. The tacos came with lots of toppings but no flavor. Just okay. Just flat oily tortillas not puffed. My husband ordered the sweet potatoes as a side and they were black. We thought they were meatballs haha but just really over cooked canned sweet potatoes. And finally the elote off the cob side. What a shame to even call it elote or off the cob. It’s frozen corn with the cheese and a little lime. No crema and it’s not creamy. There was no crunch just over cooked frozen corn.

I was happy to pay the meal because it was edible but we didn’t eat our plates.

So I asked the waitress- why do they use frozen corn for the elote? She said, I don’t know. This isn’t an authentic restaurant. I said yeah I know but why use frozen when you offer on the cob. She said well we just don’t. I said well that’s okay I get it. But, the black beans are sour and kinda bad tasting so maybe let the kitchen know? She said yeah, I can see that. They do taste sour. But, we’re an acquired taste.

That was all I needed to hear. Read the other reviews. They talk about the service being great but not specifics about much...

I have been frequenting Elote since 2010 and have had some really great times eating here with friends and staff over the years. I have even had them cater events for myself and my work. Unfortunately, those times are over and I am moving on.

Over the last 1-2 years, I have consistently experienced poor service that I have brought to management’s attention on 2 separate occasions. Despite acknowledging these issues and offering me free meals, I have yet to witness a change in customer experience. The wait staff always seems to be in a bad mood, unsociable, and puts minimal effort into their work. They often times don’t even play music and I end up eating my meal in silence.

Tonight I was charged full price for happy hour drinks. I brought it up to the bartender and it was implied that it was my fault for not specifying that I wanted the happy hour price. Like why would I want to pay an extra $7 per drink for a slightly bigger glass??? This honestly felt like a ploy to get more money out of a customer on a slow night. After bringing this up to the manager, I was once again told that it was my responsibility to remind the bartender that it is happy hour because “they forget sometimes”. I am truly appalled that both the employee and the manager told me that it was my fault I was getting overcharged without offering a single apology.

Let’s face it, the food was never that great and it is expensive.. but the atmosphere and the staff are what made this place feel like home. Whatever magic this place had going for it is gone and I no longer feel welcomed so I...

I feel like I am a Mexican food dish fan.this place is ok but Mexican should not be n the name. We had a Ok greeting when we walked in. I asked for a Tacate with Salt and Lime. And she had never heard of that and would ask the Bartender if he could do that! My first thought was To run! Ordered the white Cheese dip. The chips and Salsa where great!! ( Wish we could have had Seconds, never asked) the white queso dip is not your normal cheese dip!! Did not like it. Tasted like Sour cream, felt like it was the main component. And we had clumps of something in it. Not a fan. Extremely sour. Makes you wonder if it was fresh! Had a tamale. It had a black outer color. What?? Black outer colors should not be included in a tamale. The Black Beans had a ok taste but the had been whipped a touch!! I love black Beans and they need to be whole!! Would have loved a Second beer by now!!!! Never asked! I might be old school but NO on this place. The staff are too hip and do not care about quality and customer service. Very disappointed do not recommend. I could go on and on but I think I will call it good! And no Toothpicks to grab on the way out!!!! Come to SW29th street in OkC and pick a restaurant and you will see Mexican is not this restaurant!! And I posted a picture of some guy who would not leave his post due to some lady’s!! Would not be cool with paying him to do his job!!! Good luck to this place!!

Excellent! This restaurant is one of our all time favorites. Fun place. The food is very good. Elote offers high quality ingredients. Many vegan options. I prefer to go to Elote during the week. Staff is always friendly and very accommodating. I like the veggie tacos, vegan enchiladas, and the veggie taco salad. Some of my favorite ingredients are the sweet potatoes, black beans, and squash. There are so many good choices. My husband likes the chicken burrito and the quesadillias. We like to get the various salsas they have - the hottest one is the punisher. It's hot. Casual, fair prices, locally owned, Tulsa favorite. Downtown on Boston. Downtown parking is free on the weekends. 1rst photo - veggie taco salad (vegan cheese - cashew, my preference). 2nd photo - husband's taco salad, I don't remember which one he got. 3rd photo - veggie tacos (no cheese), mixed vegetables, black beans. 4th photo - husband's chicken tacos, mixed vegetables, black beans. 5th photo - vegan Enchiladas Tomatillos. I asked to have sweet potatoes added to the enchiladas. No cheese.
