We visited the downtown Tulsa location last night and were greatly disappointed. This is a location that is a block away from the BOK Center, so we expected that they would be equipped to deal with crowds. They are not. We made a reservation for 6:30. When we arrived, we were surprised that you walked down to a basement that was small and cramped. We arrived early and they did seat us at 6:15. There were 2 of us, and we were seated in a corner against a staircase. We sat for about 15 minutes before our server acknowledged us. He came over and told us that they were not doing pizzas or Italian nachos because there was not enough oven space. You would think that a busy location that handles business when an event at the BOK is going on would be able to handle their whole menu. Our server went and got us water and brushcetta and then said he would be right back. It was another 15 to 20 minutes before he came back to even take our order. My receipts said it was 6:43 when our order was entered into the computer. It was about 7 before we received our salads. And then it was 7:13 before we received our entrées. Our server had two big groups that he tended to more than his other tables. We ran out of drinks twice, and he told us his host would be around to fill our drinks, which she did later. Our server came to check on us once while we were eating. We got done eating, and we sat there forever before he finally came back. At that time, I told him we were ready for our check. He finally brought it to us, and I handed him my card before he walked away. We were afraid we wouldn't see him again for a bit, and we were ready to get out of there. He ran my card at 7:51. It was a few more minutes before we saw him again. We finally walked out of there about 8:10. The food was great! My husband had the lasagna, and I had the Cajan Chicken Pasta. Both were excellent! The service was not great. The room was small, very cramped and very loud. Having eaten at the 60th and Sheridan location, we expected so much more than this from Ti Amo's. If you are handi-abled, this location is not wheelchair or handicap accessible. You have to walk downstairs to the basement and is a very small cramped room. There is no ramp or elevator. There is also no room for a wheelchair...
Read moreVEGANS of Tulsa, assemble! My wife and I are long time vegans (5+ years each, even longer as vegetarians, 20+ years for me). Ti Amo's downtown location has a vegan menu with 5 (FIVE!) vegan entree options. This is the best Italian food we've had in quite some time, and Ti Amo's competitors aren't from anywhere near Oklahoma, or even the South/Mid-west.
My wife and I tasted all of the 5 (FIVE!) vegan entrees and every one of them is the best thing you've put in your mouth in quite some time. Of the 5 (FIVE!), my favourites were the Arrabiata (#1) & the Puttanesca (#2) but I would gladly eat any one of the 5 (FIVE!) entrees back and forth forever. They are all so good.
While they are all Italian dishes that are delicious, that is all they have in common. Each has a unique flavour that will make you want to come back for whatever dish you try first. Do not do that. Try them all. You will be glad you did (my wife agrees and she is a picky eater).
There is not a single other place in Tulsa that does this many vegan things this well, srsly. Like, these entrees were so good, I want to go back and take away stars from some other places' reviews. I really feel like this new vegan menu Ti Amo put together pushes Tulsa into a new division of vegan dining.
The service is also tops. Jason, the GM, worked with us to make sure vegans had some rad options here. Our server, Kyle, was also doing it right. I'm very grateful for the wonderful service. I know helping vegans can be an ordeal. Honestly though, the service could have included a swift kick to the tuchas and I'd still be back b/c their food has it like that.
TL;DR If you are vegan, eat here ASAP. If you know a vegan, force them to come here, and make them pay for you because they will gladly offer recompense for your meal as a finder's fee for having shown them this awesome vegan...
Read moreA good choice for lunch and it was just a short walk from our clients building.
A very clean restaurant as you enter gave the immediate feeling that this would be a great place to eat! Apparently they just started serving lunch so it was a good choice since we didn't call ahead!
Dan, our server came to the table with two plates of Bruschetta! I thought it was a great starter! Not so much for the guys in the group that didn't like tomatoes! More for the rest of us.
We chose 2 appetizers, Calamari and Italian Nacho's. We wanted the Charcuterie board but we were told that was no longer an option.
The Calamari I would pass on, it was overcooked and was very chewy. It's a hard pass on my next visit!
The Italian Nacho's were just a notch above that, it looked to be appealing but it just lacked toppings. Definitely not enough meat or olives. I would pass on getting this again.
Other options I would consider, the Artichoke dip, Bruschetta, Crab cakes, Garlic Bread sticks. These are some of my favorite options but not all in the group shared my taste.
Off the lunch menu I chose the Italian Philly. Not a bad choice but it seems to have lacked sufficient ingredients to make this a worthy sandwich. Taste was good but to me I felt it needed more between the bread! Other options I considered were the Italian Panini, Crab Cake Sandwich, or the French Dip. On my next visit for lunch I'll be selecting one of those.
The one who chose the Lobster Bisque was amazed at how much lobster was in the bowl. I would have definitely ordered that!
The others at the table ordered Manicotti, Ravioli, Steak and they were all impressed with their selections.
Overall a great dining experience and I would definitely choose to...
