Dinosaur Inn & Suites — Hotel in Vernal

I booked this based on price and location, plus their free breakfast. ||We arrived on a Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and were able to check in. The property is located in the heart of the Vernal business district, within an easy walk of any businesses in the area. We walked to dinner each night. The layout appears to be the combination of 2 distinct original motels, now combined. This includes an Italian restaurant (reviewed separately). The rooms associated with both of the original motels surround a pool. Rooms are direct access to the parking lot (i.e., no 'central hallway'), which was fine for us. ||Check-in was easy. They also provide a couple of computers for guest access. This was useful on our last night for printing our boarding passes. In addition, they allow access to their dining room so that you can refill water bottles throughout the day, a service which we took full advantage of.||Rooms in back of the pool are slightly trickier to park, but otherwise there was no issue. Our room was spacious in terms of where you can lay out a suitcase. There was also plenty of room on the bathroom counter for all 3 of us. This was in stark contrast to some places we've stayed in the last year (I'm looking at you, Amsterdam!). The only slight drawback to the room was the beds. I don't know that this was quite 'queen size', so 2 of us together both felt a bit cramped. It wasn't a big deal, though. ||Breakfast on the mornings we stayed here was from 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. The 'rush' seemed to be at 6:30 a.m., as those with river rafting reservations got there early. The process was a bit unique - you queued up and placed an order for most of your food (eggs, bacon, cereal, bread, etc.). Once you got that, you proceeded into the dining room to eat (and to toast your bread, etc.). Coffee and juice was self-serve. I didn't object to this, as I got basically the same food that I'd have had at Hampton Inn, etc. I assume they'd had some issues with food waste, and this was their solution. This rooms are clean, beautiful, affordable, well-located, and include a free, hot breakfast. Make sure you get up early enough, as the breakfast ends at 9:30 and is tasty!

You may not notice it from the outside of the hotel (it looks older on the outside), but the rooms have been beautifully updated. They are modern, spacious, and comfortable.

The bathroom has a spacious, fully-tiled shower that even has the extra touch of a heat lamp. There is a sink in the bathroom and a separate vanity area with its own sink, which is very convenient. The bed is comfortable and we didn’t even pay for the upgraded bedding.

I feel like they take great measures to keep people safe during the pandemic. They let you choose items off a menu for breakfast, offering various hot items in place of the usual breakfast buffet (see the menu item in my photos). You can enjoy breakfast in the dining area or take it to your room.

They allowed us a free late check out. Check out is normally 11, but we had an extra hour to relax.

Next time I am in Vernal, I will be back! Also, if you are traveling before the end of March 2021, they have a 50% off regular rates deal going if you call the front desk. We had a comfortable king bedroom for $40 per night. It is such a steal for such a wonderful hotel. I have never gotten a better value for my money at a hotel than this! TL,DR: Wonderful inn. Great breakfast and very wonderful staff. Clean and well planned rooms. Would wish they were in all places I travel.

This place completely impressed us with the room and service. The rooms are spacious and the layout of the rooms are well thought of. I stay in a lot of 4 star hotels due to work, however this inn had a better layout and space for over 80% of those hotels. Really loved that there was a wash basin in the restroom and a separate one outside, near the closet. This allowes better hygiene. The Keurig machine was a nice touch and the full size microwave and mini fridge were great. Better than most suites that give you half powered appliances. Now for the best breakfasts that was included in the rate, in a long time. There was a lot of options from really waffles (using the waffle maker), oatmeal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, etc. They even had a person (hats off to Cody for service) that cooked eggs, pancakes and french toast to order. Really impressed us with his service. The front desk staff was very helpful and guided us well on the area. The staff that keep this place running deserve a lot of (p)raise. Would visit the place in a heartbeat if I am anywhere in the area. If they keep the rates and the service, this place will always rock for me. They even had a electric vehicle charging spot.
