Jade Lion — Restaurant in Vernal

This was pretty okay. I would actually rate it a 3.7. we got three orange chicken which was pretty good, and was a little spicy true to it's name, but enough that my daughter didn't like it anymore. The next day, the chicken was too tough and chewy to eat. The pineapple chicken was just breaded fried chicken pieces with canned? pineapple mixed in. The sauce was scant and tasteless. The rice it came with was fried rice which was disappointing to us because we love just the plain rice. The avocado peanut sushi roll was actually pretty good. I liked it a lot. The mixed veggie roll was also quite delish. The California roll was pretty standard, not to much flavor, comparable to grocery store. The sweet potato roll was really good, but it was also tempura, which I was not expecting. I have had other sweet potato roll which are fresh and I like them just a much. All in all, I think I would eat here again, but be a lot more careful about what I ordered. Plus it was $60 bucks! Bummer I didn't think to add up the dish process right in my head 😅, I think I would have deleted half the order.

Advice: pictures of dishes go a long way and would be appreciated in the menu. Also, better descriptions. We threw the pineapple chicken away. Also, please just provide plain rice unless fried rice...

Today was the third time this summer that I have eaten at the Jade Lion. The first two times, I would have given them five stars, but tonight was a bit disappointing.

In the past the wait people had been gracious and good. The two people that were there tonight gave the impression that it was either a chore to wait on me, or that they had no interest in me at all.

I originally ordered the chicken with snow peas, and Hot and Sour soup. The first thing that they brought me was the chicken with snow peas, and they seemed surprised when I told them that I expected the soup first, and that if they were going to bring me the snow peas and chicken first, I didn't want the Hot and Sour soup. They didn't seem to hear me at the time; however, they never brought me the soup.

Of course, when the bill came, the Hot and Sour soup was still on it, although they did finally remove it after I pointed out the error.

While the food was okay, although perhaps a bit salty, I was disappointed in the way I was treated. I am usually a very good tipper, but tonight they just got the minimum 15%.

What I hoped would be a repeat of my past experience with these people, was tonight a disappointment, however I'll still give them four stars when one considers my earlier times...

This would have not even gotten 1 star if it was for the hot and sour soup. I love Chinese food and am hear on a 4 day fishing trip to the Green River. My trip was cut short by a day due to a deer running into my vehicle. Any way, I ordered Curry chicken, my favorite. The waitress forgot my order, and seated 3 groups of people after my order was placed. Needless to I did not get my lunch till after they received there's. The food was bland and a rather small portion. I ate at there competors last night, the Cantoon landing. Ordered the same dish. To be fair it's was dinner and I had lunch here. Well for $1 more,the Cantoon landing served 3 times the size portion with there Curry Chicken having tremendous flavor. In summary, if you want the best Chinese food in Vernal, skip the Jade lion.
