We stayed here for 5 nights. I had a really difficult time figuring out how many stars to give this hotel. In many ways, it is a great place to stay but in other ways it is lacking. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite.
Pros: Staff was very friendly. All 3 workers I talked to were fantastic.
Check in was a breeze. It took 2 or 3 minutes
The 2 bedroom suite was big. Plenty of room for multiple people. It has a king bed, 2 small twin beds and the couch has a pull out sofa.
The beds were comfortable along with the sofa. All 5 nights were great sleeping.
Functioning air conditioners. You'd be surprised how many places don't have functional A/C's. The one in the king bedroom was from the 1970s however it worked quite well.
The breakfast was perfectly fine. They have bagels, muffins, waffles, juice, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches among other things. I know that's a common complaint with the other reviews on here but I paid a lot more for the South Mountain Resort in Lincoln last year and didn't even get a breakfast.
The deck was massive and looks modern.
The freedom pass is included which is a very nice bonus. It gets you into a lot of the recreation activities and sports in town along with a couple different discounts to places.
Cons: The pool was not open. There was a sign on the door of the pool that said it was closed and it did not look good. That was not listed anywhere on the website. If we didn't have the freedom pass, then we would be more upset about this. They need to communicate it on choice hotels website.
The kitchen needs work. There needs to be more kitchen utensils and the utensils they had were old and very dirty. We had to buy some disposable kitchen utensils.
The bathroom needs some help. The toilet struggled to flush sometimes and the faucet handle would leak water. Many things about this place scream 1970s and this is one of them.
The Arcade was tiny and a couple of the games were fun but some of the games did not function properly. The "Win a prize" Type games were filled with dollar store prizes.
It's a nice place, it just needs some updates. I paid with choice rewards points and it was a good deal. $239 a night is outrageous though. It is not a 5 star hotel and that price is very steep. There were very few other rooms booked while we were there. I would recommend this hotel but not...
Read moreWe are VERY disappointed in our stay. We mentioned all the notes below to the clerk on duty, but he didn’t seem to care. I’m going to list everything below:
We had to choose AC OR a dark/private room at night. The blings went right over the ac unit, so if we wanted to sleep cool, we had to deal with the awfully bright parking lot light.
Dirty sheets/pillowcases on the pull-out sofa bed.
No hot water in the sinks.
Leaking/dripping shower all night- noisy!
Dead bolt didn’t work! Felt unsafe all night.
Horrible breakfast. Yes, we know it’s a free continental breakfast but this was disgusting. Old food. Cold, hard, foam-like pancakes… worst continental breakfast we’ve ever had.
Flimsy, lumpy pillows on the beds that felt like they were stuffed with old socks. They actually hurt to lay on.
$75 charge to check in early. We had no choice because we were going to a wedding that started after the check in time.
This is the big one- AWFUL MATTRESSES!!!! If there’s one thing a hotel should provide, it’s a reasonable bed to rest on. The mattress my daughter had had hard wires poking through, the mattress my sons slept on was hard as a rock, and the one my husband slept on was like a bowl full of cotton stuffing. Zero support. We just rolled into the middle and were bent in half like we were in a taco! We had to move to sleep on the hard floor, it was better than this awful bed.
Pool was closed, though they said it was open on their website. Kids were bummed.
For $300, we were expecting something clean, comfy and, for that price, even somewhat nice. It was the opposite- thoroughly run down and out dated from the points I listed above to details like chipped paint everywhere. Seems like it should have been. $70 a night sleezy place by the side of an interstate.
We 100% DO NOT...
Read moreThe worst hotel I have stayed at in a very long time. I requested a quiet room when making my reservation. I was given a room across from the elevator, with a connecting door which allowed me to clearly hear the people in the next room, and close enough to the wedding to hear their music. I was told they were sold out and I couldn’t change rooms. I then noticed that the bathtub had hair in it. When I discussed with the guy at the front desk he accused me of making it up because I just wanted to move rooms and wanted to see photos before he would do anything. He came to the room, shut himself in the bathroom for several minutes, and then advised me that there was no hair in the bathtub, that it was just cracks. Funny how he said that after cleaning up the hair. I also mentioned the stained and broken ironing board, and he told me it was burnt, not stained. Is that better? Either will ruin my cloths. There were several other things during the stay that made it clear that the team here just doesn’t care. The toilet seat was the wrong size for the toilet, the shower curtain was on backwards, was stained, and had a Wyndham tag on it, the bath amenities didn’t match, the ceiling in our room was cracked and falling down, the hot water at breakfast both mornings was cold, the lids for the coffee cups were not the correct size for the cups at breakfast or in the rooms, no fresh fruit available at breakfast, the carpet was stained throughout the hotel, the staff was wearing flip flops, and upon departure there was no one in the building who could tell me my total or provide a receipt. They did make an adjustment of 50% off one of my nights, but the hotel was not even worth 50% of the rate....
